[LDD MOC] Crimson Widow - 30 gun frigate
Dunkleosteus replied to Dunkleosteus's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank very much to both of you, gentlemen -
LDD/MLCad 16B Hey-ho, wolves of the sea and gifted shipbuilders! I'm very pleased to show you this big merchant barque. You can find the ship here: Thank you for your attention.
-
Thanks! I'm glad that I could romanticize your minds a bit (: 2Phred: thank you very much for the offer! Unfortunately for now I would not want to post the file of this ship, may be a little later :)
-
Thank you very much, guys! Very pleased that you like my creative work 2Chris - during construction I glanced occasionally at some xebec scale models (the aim - not to be missed with proportions). In general, sail on the mizzen is quite small with reference to the most of examples ;) My dear friend - the greatest happiness possible is to see you finally here! However, your words are no less pleasant Even though my work is only a pathetic shadow of your creativity, it's still incredibly nice to hear such flatter responses!

LDD/MLCad 15B The time has come, dear colleagues. This is the last xebec by my hands. Probably the best ship which was ever constructed at my shipyards. You can find the ship here: https://www.flickr.c...157651089655346 My next creation will be a large merchant barque. Thank you for your attention!

Good evening, dear fans of huge anthropoid robots, romantics of space velocities and connoisseurs of metal monsters! I came to you from distant lands, from the times of pirates and sea battles. This world is full of clanking iron and smell of machine oil - I am not accustomed to this world, but I like it. I hope that my little spider and his toy spaceship will receive a warm welcome here

The file is already on the way to your email

LDD/MLCad 15A Good evening, dear colleagues. For the beginning I would like to apologize for any possible sense of deja vu. It just so happened that xebecs captured my imagination. Their graceful forms, lightness, excellent seakeeping... and extreme danger for almost any ship! Even my computer opposed and stopped doing renderings, but I asked my friend for help, and now you can contemplate this ship in all its beauty. You can find the ship here: https://www.flickr.c...157650737603559 She is even more slim than her sister La Spada (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=103787), as you can see. Brick built sails still play a role of fabric, which is not present in the program. Everything else is attached and can be constructed in real bricks. God give me strength to choose a ship that will be built in reality - when the time will come. Incidentally, this is the first ship in which I finally managed to use a sausage! I wonder whether you can find it And a little raw picture - two sisters together. Perhaps I should apologize again - my next ship will be a... xebec. Again. It will be the last ship of this type - it's definitely time to move on. Thank you for your attention
-
Thank you It is quite possible to recreate this ship in bricks. There are no canvas in LDD, so I used common plates for sails - they are hanging of course) Everything else is attached. Thank you very much for these kind words! Nice to meet a connoisseur of such rare ships like xebec. The brick built sails are fabric alternative, just because unfortunately there are no fabric in LDD.

Thanks No, I just have no idea how to post lxf files

LDD/MLCad 14D Greetings, my dear colleagues! This bright Christmas time the only way I can congratulate you is to delight your eyes and romanticize your minds with this graceful ship. I decided to dedicate this ship to my good friend Kolonialbeamter - his support and warm responses to my ships are essential for my creativity. So there is a xebec - every person who has ever interested in maritime history was certainly fascinated by the grace of this light and dangerous ship. I used quite tiny scale, so there are only 10 cannons, but I am sure that little sea predator with unique abilities for close-hauled sailing can be incredibly dangerous, even for large vessels. This is my second xebec project and not the last for sure. You can find the ship here: https://www.flickr.c...157651089454676 Creating this ship I used the same technology as here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=102498 and here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=102667 and here: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=103561 Thank you for your attention

[LDD MOC] Crimson Widow - 30 gun frigate
Dunkleosteus replied to Dunkleosteus's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank you, nice that you like it Thanks! I would like to see this model in flesh too. Once I'll have time&money&place, it will certainly decorate my bookshelf :) It is a great pleasure to see your interest for my humble model! Curve structure is made by combining several things - hinge plates, rocker bearings and each 6 brick section gradation. I have no idea how to post lxf file, I barely figured out the idea of posting images According to my calculations - it is quite real to create any model made by this technology in flesh. The construction is modular, it will make the construction process much easier. Here are some stuff And little tutorials -
LDD/MLCad 14C Ahoy, Gentlemen of fortune and talented shipbuilders! This mysterious and foggy night a terrible pirate ship raises it's bloody-red sails! Frigate Crimson Widow specifically designed for pursuit. Hull is lightened to increase seaworthiness. Four cannons at the prow - and let no one go away unpunished! Also there is a "wanna-be-a-galley" version for gourmets You can find the ship here: https://www.flickr.c...157648831113453 Thank you for your attention

LDD/MLCad 14B Thus the day has come, mates. The sea is calling, gulls have already lost their voices trying to cry out our names. The sea is calling, and once you hear this call, you lose a part of your own soul - perhaps the best part of it. Sea relishes your soul in its bottomless throat like a breath of a fragrant captain grog. Sea is always hungry and often it's not against the idea of devouring your flesh too. Let it be another day! With the greatest of pleasure I proudly present to you this brig, the pearl of my shipyards. Its high speed and maneuverability allow to conduct battle with larger vessels and successfully overtake smaller ships. The lightness of the hull allows this beauty to rush through the waves like see cheetah. 22 cannons can guarantee - no enemy will leave unpunished! You can find the ship here: Thanks for watching!

A pretty one A little boat at the stern is especially attractive. Rendering 'water' effect is nice too! Сan I ask to share the secret code? It would also be nice to see here your wonderful walking ship (even if it's not quite a classic pirate vessel )
-
Vielen Dank! The mystery of the curvature is quite simple and not even worth nine pesos Hinge plates + rocker bearings + gradation. Actually the implementation of the technology is not perfect in this ship, cause it was the first on which I tested these techniques. Nice that you are interested in this. Red "stripe" is good for "leading" your eyes through the curvature of the hull, smoothing usual lego edges (first time has been applied to the ship Cornetto) And yes, flags & sails compensate the absence of fabric in the program, so they are hanging in the cold air, as well as anchors. Everything else is attached and can be recreated in real bricks. Thanks. Start what?) Thank you for such kind words! That's very kind of you In the words of Monsieur KB she "has recently evolved from the galleons." Suppose the beginning of the 17th century.

LDD/MLCad 14A Ahoy, Gentlemen! This beautiful windy evening a majestic 80 gun ship spreads its' white sails in the name of justice. There is only one place where you can afford feeling safe - on board of this personification of the law, of course! You can find the ship here: About 5 days and 3 sleepless nights 15,000 pieces, crying netbook... know that stern looks a bit too narrow, but I could not resist a passion of curves Monsieur Kolonialbeamter was so kind to help me with rendering of this beauty - many thanks to him Here are some stuff: In fact, this ship for me is a new step in shipbuilding, beginning the next era From facepalming shame to less shame and then Arbiter! In fact, after Arbiter two more ships has happened to me. But we'll talk about them later, so they are mercilessly shaded. Thanks for watching!

[MOC] Initiateur - 100 gun french man o' war
Dunkleosteus replied to Dunkleosteus's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thank you! perhaps one time if I would have time&money.. But at the moment this ship is already technologically outdated - I could do better, and I'm going to You are absolutely right about the ammount of cannons! I will consider it carefully in the construction of the next ship. As for the colors, I do not really like them, but I decided not to deviate from the plan just because of my personal preferences. Anyway, I'm glad that you like it.- 42 replies

LDD/MLCad 13C Ahoy, gentlemen of fortune and guards of the brick seas. I haven't been on the forum for a long time and now looked over all your creations - they are just magnificent, all of them! I still feel myself like a novice in lego-building.. Anyway, Dunkleosteus' Shipyards are back with this harsh lady. Сonstructed a month ago, only now she has come under your considerate professional eyes. I think this is my last ship based on the prehab hull technology - this method imposes too many limitations. There are 3 type of cannons: - lightweight culverins - heavy carronades - long-range cannons Also you can see a mortar boat on board Maybe later, if I would find a possibility of rendering, the another ship, unusual and frightening, will drop anchor in the bay so that everyone can enjoy its menacing shape Thank you very much for your attention!

[pid][/pid] LDD/MLCad 13A I would like to show some of my ship-oriented ideas, which can be interesting(or not). Since it can be inconvenient for you to leaf through a lot of different pages, I would like to gather all of ships that haven't been here yet, so you can see them together in this post. At first, let the royal frigate "Lemuria" salute you with fire of her 60 cannons. She is not a tiny girl, and she has no idea what the diet is. However, I hope that she has a certain fascination. She was an experiment to test some technical innovations and ideas. I don't like her entirely, but may be she would get some place in your hearts? - Here we have something strange. I made it a month or two ago, when I just found LDD. As you can see, this galley is designed for the ram attack and have a catapult on board. - In these pictures you can see a little and nibmle shooner "Flink" smiling slyly to you. - Here I would like to make a small step aside from a pirate theme and show you a chinese junk. I named it "Duan wu". - The last and the prettiest - her name is "Cornetto", and her cheerful nature you will prefer. I like her very much, hope that you too :) Thank you for watching :)

The idea of a ship with tusks disturbed my sleep
-
Remarkably! You are the first and the only person who guessed about the allusion to those elephants (: Moreover, this is fantastic when someone understand how much torture I got from the chain! I'm highly grateful to you. Sorry for my English, I need some practise :) As for the ship, this I made in two days and then my poor netbook was rendered it slowly and sadly, so I had time to build a couple of smaller ships - you can find them on my brickshelf - it finally works But theese ships are a bit average (Shooner "Flink" und junk "Duan wu") One day I would find the way and resources to put the best of my ships on a real shelf, therefore I build all models in a way that can be implemented. And I have some problems with the process of coloring, so my wife helps me with it :)

Thank you very much! :) About the flag: Firstly, it can be a reconstruction or stylization, if you want. Someday I was familiar with a russian project "Shtandart", the reconstructed frigate of Peter the Great, 1703. We had to keep the present-day tricolore, cause it's a law :( Secondly, "Eigensinn" is not a reconstruction of a real ship. It's just a consequence of a muse visit) She could whisper something about a green underpants on a flagpole Generally my mind was so inspired that such a boring place like a top of the mast I noticed passingly - the stern is more interesting :) As for cannons - Eigensinn is a delicate merchant ship. As a true lady, she is afraid of overweight :) As for Troglodyte - it is terrible enough, cannons are not necessary at all

[pid][/pid] LDD/MLCad 12D Ahoy, Gentlemen! I would like to present my humble creation, this brutal ship. Tuned by cavemans or designed by demons? Everyone who knew anything about the destiny of this beauty is already dead. You can imagine, but be careful - it can eat you alive - - - - - Here you can see three sisters together - Thank you very much for your attention
