  1. I managed to score a batch of torsos tonight around 12:30ish EDT, but by the time I finished my order and went to come say something about it, I double checked and they were listed as out of stock again. Those things sure don't last long! But now I've got 20x shields, torsos, legs, and helmets in two different orders... Now I just have to get lucky and get the shoulder pieces I want, and I'll have enough for a couple nice little displays. So if you're after them, keep at it!
  2. An important thing to remember there: To kids, "flashy overdone content" is just exciting content. They don't have the experience with these things for it to have gotten overdone. It's flashy, impressive, and appeals to the childish (Not using the term negatively) mentality of "Oh, this is cool! Lets add this too!" and a general acceptance of 'crossover' - If you have Lego police and Lego fire monsters, they can coexist! Ultra Agents can battle with Jedi, etc, etc. Taking a castle and throwing lasers onto it is just -cool- for a kid, not overdone yet.
  3. So I got and read the Book of Monsters recently, and I have to say, I'm really excited about the future of Nexo Knights. I'd love to see the Forest and Sea monsters get sets, and I really hope they delve more into Monstrox. The book makes it seem like the Book of Monsters IS Monstrox trapped, but at the same time also makes it seem like the book was a servant of Monstrox, or something similar. Particularly the Monstrox article, where he prefaces every mention of him with a (Gasp!) before his name. Perhaps Monstrox is trapped inside the book, but his personality is only vaguely aware that he (the Book of Monsters) and Monstrox are the same person? Or maybe the Book of Monsters really isn't Monstrox, but instead his second in command or something, trapped in book form to contain his master?
  4. Personally I was the exact opposite - I thought I was going to hate the theme. Now I have the entire collection sitting on my table, and I love it all!
  5. The three you couldn't make out the names for are apparently Baron Badwood, Dame Flora, and Marquis de Seaweed. Also it appears the Siren of Seaguard's full title is "The Sing-along Siren of Seaguard."
  6. I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to see a bigger variety of monster themes beyond "fire guys". I'm also kind of hoping that Monstrux returns and kicks Jestro to the curb, leading to a heel-face turn for Jestro.
  7. Well, it is about a family. I wouldn't doubt that the secondary cast will be more diverse than the primary family.
  8. Just got back from Target, and got the Turtle Sub Undersea Chase. The catch, is that it was in the back, not on the shelf - Apparently Target only redoes their shelves every so often, so new stock can sit back there for up to TWO MONTHS I was told, before it actually gets out for sale. I used my phone, and pulled up the item info. I checked the website for store availability, and it said it was in stock at that store. Then, on the item page, I expanded the "Overview" and "Item Details" section, and found the Store Item Number (DPCI), and they searched that - And found it was in stock, and went back and grabbed it for me. So, if you're looking for it, give it a shot!
  9. Really not a fan of the Turtles minifigs themselves in these movie sets. They look like they just sort of melted a normally shaped minifig head. The face printing looks like someone gave them a pig nose and poured pea soup on their heads. It's just... Bad. The shells look terrible, too. Why is half of their shell on their chest like normal, and the other half shoved up like someone gave them atomic wedgies? Who thought that design was good? The sets, however, look fantastic. I'll be getting all three, and then quite simply throwing the Turtles themselves into a ziploc and hiding them away in a parts drawer, never to see the light of day again.
  10. Not sure if this is really the right place for it, but I was thinking since this year's sets have been revealed and we're not getting a Mutagen Man or the Patrol Buggies, I'd start working on my own versions. Here's what I have so far. Mutagen Man is pretty simple, meant as sort of a display for Donnie's lab, rather than the walking, smashing version. The Patrol Buggies are just the rear two so far, an I'm planning a few modications if I can get parts. Also need to get the parts for the front buggies, and larger rear wheels for the current two. But that'll come - For now, they're functional at least. Almost forgot to link the full size images. http://imgur.com/a/SAMMp
  11. Oh man, not just alternate instructions, but some combo instructions too! Alternate for Shredder's Lair and the Turtle Sub, then combo for the Sub+T. Rawket and for the T. Rawket+Mutagen lab. They sure know how to get us to buy multiple sets...
  12. My current plan is to combine the two lair sets into one bigger, better lair than either of the two of them could be on their own.
  13. Nickelodeon own the Turtles now, they don't just have rights to the show. They're actually the full out owners, so everything is under their name.
