I didn't even know about this movie 'till now. I dunno, he just looks like Sylar to me. :-/ X-D ~Peace

I must admit I'm very surprised. He was only 28. :-( Sad to hear. This gave me quite a shock. Not as shocking as when Steve Irwin died, but still. *sad* *sad* ~Rest in Peace

I like the mech! The triple cannon is really neat, the cockpit is very nice, and the jet pack is sweet! *y* The ship is really cool in flight mode, and has a unique landing mechanism. At first I thought it was a tripod walker thing! :-P How does the pilot get in and out? X-D
-
You're welcome! *sweet* I really like it, the use of those printed arches are great, and look really cool with those windows, and the windows above the doors are really cool too, as are the triangular designs with the 1x1 tan cylinders. *y* *y* Is the triangular design on the right supposed to be missing some bits on it's left though? ~Peace

Redman here! Today I proudly wear my boofy Red Exo-force hair to tell you about set 8112; Battle Arachnoid! Just in case you missed Hinckley's great review. ;-) The smallest of the robot Exo-force sets, this sure is a great set! Keeping the orange and black colour scheme and the Devastator as the pilot from the Claw Crusher set, yet improving it with a sweet insect like design, and some neat weaponry, not to mention the detachable cockpit and Face-eater (more on that later). Not a bad price at 15 NZD either. *sweet* The box has a neat action pose of the Battle Arachnoid boosting through the jungle, firing it's Face-eater (the mini robot). In the bottom right corner there's a picture of the mini robot encircled in, well, a circle. The same as seen in the action pose, only smaller and with a slight change of angle. :-P And as usual the pilot is shown in the top right in cartoon form, this one's obscured by a price tag though. X-D The picture on the instruction manual is the same as the action pose on the box-art. For some reason there is 2 instruction manuals, the first building the 6 legged base bit, and the second building the detachable cockpit and mini robot. The back of instruction book 1 shows the other 2008 Exo-force sets, and the back of instruction book 2 has the usual WIN Lego Products thing, and in the back pages are advertisements for the Lego club, which people in NZ can't even subscribe to. |-/ The DSS. Well, what was the DSS. Really it just shows how big the stickers were. X-D Still, that may be helpful to some one. As you can see, there's only 7 stickers, which isn't really that bad, as they're easy to apply. Moving on to the model. First we build the base, which I call the Arachnoid. It's actually quite cute, if you ignore the laser guns and chainsaws on it's front legs, and deadly pincers. X-D Really though, it is. I like it. :-) The sticker is mirrored on the opposite leg too. Here you can see the left side of the Arachnoid, with the set number 'hidden' in the sticker. Here's the right side, with that robot symbol encased in some black designs. And here is the last leg sticker on the hind legs, again mirrored on the opposite leg. And here's a back view, so you can see how the cockpit attaches. Next up in instruction booklet number 2 we build the detachable cockpit. When attached it forms a kind of abdomen to the Arachnoid, and when detached it's some sort of flying little air craft, or FLAC as I call it. The wings can fold down for flight, and fold up to protect the pilot. Underneath it holds and extra pod for the mini robot. And here's a back view for you. Lastly we build the mini robot. I've deduced it's purpose is to eat heads. It look like it can do that quite well too, with 4 sharp arms to stab into it's victim, and a little jaw to devour it's victim's head. :-D Once consumed the flesh melts away in the acid, leaving behind a skull. *skull* It can also be utilised into a gun. :-D I noticed in the instruction when you build the pod for the FLAC, in the parts-you-need-in-this-step box it shows the 2x2 black circle plate, and the trans-yellow dome covering, and in the connecting box it shows a skull connecting to the black plate instead of the yellow covering. Then when attached to the model, it shows the pod with the skull inside. ??? Confused? No? Well, later on when you build the pod for the Face-eater, in the parts-you-need-in-this-step box it shows the same as before, only this time with the skull. Then in the how-to-put-it-together step there is no skull. Crazy. Another thing to note is how to put in the chainsaws. Contrary to the instructions, it's better if you put them with the slope, instead of against it like the instructions suggest. That doesn't properly work unless you have the power to make the chainsaw go through the slope. Other than that no problems though! So, all in all, despite the few errors in the instructions, it was a nice and easy build, each section looks nice individually and together, well, except like this. That just looks kinda weird. :-P Still, all the other ways are cool! :-D It's a great set, especially if you love orange, like I do! What more to say! I think I provided all the pictures you need, unless you want a picture of the back of instruction book 2, with the WIN Lego Prizes thing. :-/ That's all for today folks! *sweet* [/Redman] So, what do you think? I'll be happy to provide any other pictures you want, whether it be of the 'mistakes' in the instruction books, or other angles of the model. I appreciate all comments and criticisms! ~Peace

Now that you mention it; It looks near exactly like Juggernaut's helmet! :-P Good spotting! ~Peace

Very cool! I like you he used the fire hose thing for the thumbs, and a clip piece for the lower teeth. Looks to be very posable, I love it! *y* *y* ~Peace
-
I guess they should really have more posability, since posability = playability, and we all know TLC's big on that. But as PSPguy said, for buildings and such, since they can't really be posed, detail would be what TLC should be going for. And for mechs, posability, as that's what will endure the most 'playing'. I got Battle Arachnoid, and I'm very happy about it as it has both playability, er, I mean posability and detail. But Kynok already said that. :-/ ~Peace

Can't figure out how to post pics? Well, let me explain... :-D I'm pretty sure you can upload them from your computer to the post by doing something, I'm not sure, ask some one else about that. But I suggest you use a website, such as flickr, Brickshelf, or Photobucket. You have to rregister but that doesn't take long and can be used in future. I suggest flickr, as you can download Flickr Uploadr which greatly reduces the time to upload pics. Brickshelf is also good though. Once you've done that, you just need to single out the picture. With brickshelf, you just keep clicking on the picture until it's just the picture, and no Brickshelf stuff around it. Then you just copy the url and stick it where I show you; [img= Paste the url here. ] With Photobucket, once you upload a picture you'll see 4 things next to it with boxes of urls and things. These are "Email and IM", "Direct Link", "HTML Code" and "IMG Code". Click on the box next to "IMG Code" and a yellow box will come up saying 'Copied', then you just paste into your post and it'll show up. With flickr, first (once you've uploaded an image) click just above the picture. Then right click the picture, click properties, and then copy the location and stick it between the img /img tags we went through earlier. Or, if you use Mozilla Firefox as a web browser, just right click the picture and click 'Copy Image Location', and past that between the img /img tags. Just make sure it ends in .jpg or .bmp or any other image files. *sweet* Hope that helped! X-D ~Peace EDIT: Oh yes, and I look forward to seeing it too! *sweet*

I too am a tad disappointed that we get yet another horse. I don't need anymore! See for yourself! What I need is some more troops. ~Peace

That's a good question, I was wondering that too. Maybe it should be asked in the Embassy? Or is that inappropriate? ~Peace

MOC fantasy minifigs & monsters
iamded replied to AmperZand's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I found the Bull-rider to be quite funny, I can imagine him charging through enemy lines, bowling away all who oppose him! :-D The wraith is really cool too, I love how you've done the cape shroud thingy. *y* *y* ~Peace -
Troll Battle Wheel Review now with pics
iamded replied to Cardinal Brick's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
40 dollars? US? Huh, that should be cheaper than I thought then. Like 50 NZD instead of 80. :-$ And now I'm not so concerned about the armour, since it's lacking the skellie symbol. Oh, never mind. Still, I'll probably give it to a skellie, and make him a higher rank or something, since the torso itself of the troll is still great. Thanks for the pics of the figs! *y* ~Peace -
nausicaa (hayao miyazaki) minifig
iamded replied to nausicaakro's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Very cool customs! Great paint application, these are awesome! The last one's probably my favourite, great use of the visor. *y* *y* ~Peace -
A nice solution! Looks good, and is quite ingenious! ~Peace

Oh yes, two more I forgot. (Thanks to Norro for reminding me of this one;) Fleshies. Why try to make little plastic figures look more realistic by adding flesh colour to the skin? Yellow people is classic Lego, fleshy Lego is just weird. And the other bad decision? Dropping the Spider-man license! I'd kill for an official Venom minifig, and a Sandman one, it would be so neat! And the new goblin. And Symbiote Spidey. *wub* Why sell off to Megabloks when there was only one movie left? :'-( It's just so sad... :'-( ~Peace

Great MOC! The entrance exterior looks awesome, and the SNOT interior is awesome, especially. the bar! :-D Awesome shelves behind the bar, too. *y* *y* In the brickshelf find you posted, I really like the way the chairs are made, quite ingenious. ~Peace

Halo, WWII, and Star Wars customs...

Heh, I thought you may have. X-D Still, they all look great, almost like they're official. *y* Peace -
the good things that TLC have done!
iamded replied to hollisbrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Lego Spider-man. Lego Castle '07/''08. In other words, my favourite themes. *wub* ~Peace -
My solution is simple, only collect Castle! :-P Then again I have to seperate the different Castle themes. X-D I don't have a table town, but a 3 layered shelf and a table that connects to just about the right height of the bottom shelf of the shelves. SO I have 1 long display, and 2 displays half the size, so that really doesn't help you. 8-| You could intergrate Indy in easy enough. You can use the toll booth in the city, the motorcycles too, as they're modern enough. The temple could be an ancient ruin, or and archaeological site. The 2 vehicles could be in a garage somewhere, or in a war museum. Or just on a display in the middles of town, with a small fence around it and cover on top, as a vintage car display. Adventurers could be, well, it really depends what type of Adventurers. If it's the desert ones, then an archaeological dig site could work, same with the Indy temple. If it's the jungle ones you could have them hidden in the jungle, like ancient ruins. And, hm, lets just hope you don't have any dino Adventurers. X-D Okay, where are we up to now, ah, Castle. They could be medieval ruins, or a medieval museum. Space could be... in a separate area that's actually on the moon? My suggestions. *sweet* ~Peace

What a nice collection you have! To think in 20 years I'll be able to show off my '07 Castle collection like that! :-D Those original plumed helmets are awesome! *wub* ~Peace

Alligators or crocodiles, they're both very nice. I however voted for monkeys. X-D I don't own one, but they're so cool, and posable, I love the little fella's! :-D ~Peace

Halo, WWII, and Star Wars customs...
iamded replied to babyjawa's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Very nice customs, the Jedi is nice, the WW2 guy is excellent, and the Spartans are very cool. *y* The decals look great, and have been applied well. *y* If you have any Mars Mission sets, the gold visor is that might look better though, otherwise great job! *y* *y* ~Peace -
There are some great suggestions here. The most accurate looking IMO is Mr Tiber's one. Great job! :-D *y* ~Peace
