That was the first thing I saw too. Nothing else minifigure-wise looks like a new colour this round. I hope they release the left arm one day! Lots of accessory recolours though.

This brings up a few for me: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/search.page?q=Medium lavender hips#T=A Batman movie CMF has been a good source lately: Calculator, and both Wonder twins Jayna and Zan. Also Crayon girl from the most recent LEGO Movie CMF which also gives you plain torso and arms. The Light Flesh hips is a mystery, I haven’t seen any minifigs using them yet. Perhaps it was a test run or something that was coming but got scrapped? 2 sellers on BL currently have 556 and 246 of them combined as hips and legs!

Light Flesh hips recently started popping up on BrickLink; they were discussed further up the page just recently. Medium lavender Hips are readily available, the Legs are only available from Batzarro.

In alphabetical order: Black, Blue, Bright Green, Bright Light Blue, Bright Light Orange, Bright Pink, Brown, Dark Azure, Dark Blue, Dark Bluish Gray, Dark Brown, Dark Gray, Dark Green, Dark Orange, Dark Pink, Dark Purple, Dark Red, Dark Tan, Flesh, Green, Light Aqua, Light Bluish Gray, Light Grey, Light Flesh, Lime, Magenta, Medium Azure, Medium Blue, Medium Dark Flesh, Medium Lavender, Olive Green, Orange, Pearl Gold, Red, Reddish Brown, Sand Blue, Sand Green, Tan, White, and Yellow. There is also the chrome red and chrome gold key ring ones in the pic, giving 42 all up. Hopefully you’ve kept a list of your 38 and can work out what’s left.

Awesome thanks. I like the sand colours like purple and wish they used it more.

I’ve been slowly doing this too, do you have a list of all the colours? Is the 4th from the left bottom one Dark Turquoise? Rare and expensive hands on that one, and most Mera’s get snapped up as soon as they appear on BrickLink. A bit hard to bite the bullet on that one.
-
Merlion store too? This is my 40th, plus I have a few nearly there ones such as flat silver, yellowish green etc. The new Coral colour looks fantastic, torso and hips in the new CMF and I hope they make more bits soon. I have the gold chrome key ring coming but not the red one yet. One day :)

Number 40 fully complete. I got a complete Light Flesh minifigure from BrickLink. The torso, arms, hands and head were slightly off compared to the hips and legs that came with it - luckily I already had one made without the hips so I swapped them over and it looks perfect. Hips appear genuine with logo etc.

Yeah the ebook by monofigs, I took screenshots when it was free and it was actually really useful for when I was a newbie.

I did think about your preference for plain pieces and yes you can do medium lavender finally. Legs are only available from Batzarro and can be reasonably priced if you shop around and be patient. I have been thinking about making a website or something with hints and lists of all the colours and parts to easily obtain them. It will be a big job though and I haven’t done this kind of thing in a long time, I wouldn’t even know where to host a site anymore! I’ve also ordered some Light Flesh hips which appear genuine so it will be interesting to see them in the flesh.

Yep quite deceiving sometimes, especially with the level and detail of printing these days. I’ve done a lot of research and hunting to complete my collection and learned a few tricks along the way. You have some nice rarer ones too. Light Aqua arms and Medium Lavender legs aren’t exactly common. If you’re going for Magenta (and you should it’s a great looking one) make the hips and legs seperately instead of paying a fortune for them combined.

Not sure where it says they’re dual moulded “Blue Hips and Yellowish Green Legs”. Dual moulded legs cut off a bit below the bottom of the hip part between the legs, whereas these ones are pretty much in line with that point. I have physically wiped a pair and I can tell you it was the worst pair of legs I’ve ever wiped, but they are in fact pure single coloured legs with a whole lot of printing! update: here’s the back of them

REVIEW: 71023 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series
Coopa182 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The two most recent series have had a chase character, so it could have been the start of a new trend and very possible to think they’d continue. That in itself is more than enough reason for some fans to be a little sceptical. -
The hips and legs from Doctor Phosphorus are blue hips and yellowish green legs - the legs aren’t dual moulded and you can wipe all of the blue off. Hands are available from a few other minifigures, so it’s just the hips missing to complete this monochrome colour.

REVIEW: 71023 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series
Coopa182 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for another amazing review WhiteFang. I like the new white base plates, classic space logo on Benny’s toolbox and huge amount of spare pieces. I’m glad LEGO have ceased with the “chase” character and made this a fair and perfect distribution. My only dislike is UniKitty which is not technically a Minifigure and that 20th spot could have gone to something else.
