  1. A cute little concept and rather humourous, but in desperate need of something to make it standout, i feel. The SNOT base seems like an interesting choice, given that you have worked up areas of the sea floor on top of it. Are the studded bits meant to be rocky outcrops, and the tan base the sand? Cause that would work visually, but maybe in two tone, like grey studs and tan smoothness. The tan all over just confuses me. I'd love to see a bigger walker too, and maybe a brick built sea monster, rather than the prefab sharks and swordfish. Best of luck in the comp though!
  2. Thankyou and yr welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed looking at it. Thanks! I feel i still have a lot to learn about implementing moveable functions in my models, so yr comment means a lot. Thankyou very much! Haha, i don't know much about the Indiana Jones films - i was probably thinking more along the lines of Serious Sam tbh! Thankyou for yr kind comment. I'm glad you like it.
  3. Now i am thinking - where's my teapot, LEGO, huh? Not all of us are coffe drinkers you know!
  4. Really slick and ticks all the boxes but one - size. Scale it up and you'd have a beauty. We seem to have been thinking along similar lines - temple, check; sidecar, check... and i abandoned an airship halfway through my build too! Best of luck in the comp.
  5. Thankyou! I was fooling around with a way to make the obelisk "rise" out of the temple itself, but it would have left no room for an interior. So the interior decorator side of me won out again! Thanks mate! The statues do indeed move, as you can see now that i've fixed my links. I'm glad you noticed the Alien Conquest crossover, i was hoping someone would! Thanks! Yeah, i think i've come to a tipping point with my collection - i seem to be getting less and less frustrated by the "whyyy don't i have x number of peices of y element in z colour?? " syndrome - mind you, this works only if i'm building one large MOC at a time. My next MOC might test this theory too. Ooh, thanks, fixed. That'll teach me to post late at night. Best of luck to you as well. Yay, thanks so much! I've been hanging out for those little guys! Thankyou very much for yr kind words! I really have no idea as to piece count, maybe around 1500-2000?? That's a pretty wild guess, btw. I built a little oasis as an adventurers base to go with it as well, but when i put it together it looked... too much, and a little fragmented too. I might have to post that as a seperate plain old MOC.
  6. Very imposing, i love the idea of a tank-fortress, fits in very well with Ninjago! Be good to see some more ornamentation on it though, and it's a bit sad that there is no interior.
  7. This is great! The interior is wonderfully detailed and i love the little truck! I'd add my voice to those who are calling for a roof though - i reckon it would cap off yr beautiful MOC nicely.
  8. Yes! The new Pharoah's Quest D2C exclusive that gives you more of what you want! More Anubis guards! More ancient temples! More gold and tan! And a stack of playable fun.... read on to discover... The Temple of Amset Ra Piece count: lots Minifigs: 9 Introducing our heros - Jake Raines of course needs no introduction, but in this exclusive set he has a brand new sidekick - Em Starling; swashbuckling, quick-witted and the ideal candidate to help Jake storm the ancient temple and stop the revived Amset Ra from activating the alien homing beacon! All they have is a vintage motorbike and sidecar, a machine gun and their wits... can they make it in time?? Three-quarter view of the temple. Amset Ra, following his awakening at the Scorpian pyramid and epic battle with Jake and friends, has retreated to his temple which also houses an alien homing beacon in the form of an shimmering blue obilisk. On activation, the beacon will signal to the aliens who helped Amset Ra dominate the ancient world that the time has come again for invasion and conquest! On to the playable features: At a command from Amset Ra, the stone gaurdians of the outer pylon (gate) arise to repel all who would dare intrude! The outer gate and walls are hinged and can be detached in a manner simmilar to the Battle of Alamaut. The ramp to the temple sanctuary can split open as shown, providing our heros with a route to the alien generator, housed underneath the temple. A close up of the alien generator that powers the beacon. This is on the ground floor at the back of the temple sanctuary. The roof of the temple sanctuary can be lifted off to show the richly decorated sanctuary interior. I hope you have enjoyed my entry! I had a hard time whittling my pics down to only six... there are more pics at my flickr if yr interested in checking them out.
  9. I was just thinking about this recently, about how lately i've been feeling much freer and less frustrated by part restriction in my building - perhaps i'm approaching this critical mass you speak of? I'm at about 16-17K elements btw.
  10. This is great. My eye is especially drawn to the shoreline - visually very striking.
  11. Man... this looks like a great set. It's on my wish list for sure. Thanks for the great early review!
  12. This has worked out so well! Especially the tower. I kinda want to see the front of the statue, i'm curious about why he is surrounded by parrots... Is there more backstory to yr MOC by any chance?
  13. Aw, c'mon, Halo Kitty sounds much better than HK40K!
  14. I saw this on Flickr a while ago - what really caught my eye was the unusual shapes in the walls and tower. Very striking.
  15. Beautiful houses, a really lovely scene. I have to question the wisdom of building a village so close to a troll hideout however!!
  16. Interesting rooflines and i dig the little cars.. PQ certainly has some beautiful vehicles and these would fit right in. Is this finished with only additional photos to come, or is it still a WIP? It certainly looks pretty complete for a WIP.
  17. That's a really sweet looking chess set. But i have just one question: which one is the mummy queen, or, to put it another way, "who's yr mummy?"
  18. Just stunning. The multicoloured tents in all different shapes really stand out, and evoke the atmosphere of the tournament very well. I love that you've got so many different factions together, old and new. And the jousting jesters! Can't wait to see yr forest now.
  19. Ahaha... this is classic! Great build too. The fire underneath the caudron is a nice touch.
  20. Thanks to CopMike for orginising such a fun (and generous!) raffle, and congrats to all the winners. I love these little comps, can't wait for the next one!
  21. Looking good - already shaping up really well. Going to be interesting to see what goes where.
  22. Wah, can't send you a PM until you have made 10 posts! D: Kinda hard to give a lot of info about MUGS in this tiny comment box. :( Anyway, if yr interested, try emailling mugs-list@yahoogroups.com.au and ask if you can get added to the MUGS mailing list. You can details about meetings etc from the list. Hope that helps! :)

  23. Ah, the pretty, it burns my eyes! Loving the tiling, the big statue, the double doors, the bionicle (that's what they are, right?) masks, the magma river, the base, the backstory... i could go on in this vein for a while...
  24. Wow - this is really nice, clean and uncluttered with a great colour scheme. I noticed on Flickr that you even gave it a set number! Not so sure about the tree with the upside down 4x4 round plate, but everything else is tops.
  25. Hi Electrorock;

Thanks, i'm glad you like my rendition of the Vic market facadde. I don't have instructions for it, or for anything i build - i kinda make it up as i go along. But i'm sure you could work it out by looking at what i've done and make a fair copy if you wished. :) Btw, do you go to MUGS? If yr in melb you might like to go to a meeting.
