Right, then that part is just me missing out earlier. As I was building 8049B, at one point I had axle 1 -> gear 1 -> gear 2 -> axle 2 -> gear 3 -> steering rack. Simplified version: Rotating anything would not work except for the slight wiggle between gears. However, if I removed gear 3 I was able to manipulate everything up to and including axle 2 by rotating axle 1 with the Increment/Decrement arrows. Afterwards, I replaced gear 3 and removed gear 2. I was then able to move the steering rack about halfway back and forth by rotating axle 2. What really beats me is that I am utterly and completely unable to reproduce this, both in the existing model and starting from scratch. Was this some one-off bug that happened to simulate mechanics? That does seem sort of weird...

I'm sorry if I missed this earlier, but did LDD get some (very) basic support for gears turning other gears and moving racks? I'm building 8049B in LDD and just noticed that I'm able to make the steering rack move a bit by rotating the gear above it.

I always generate the parts with LDD Manager based on Bricklink's listing first, then use your decorations and colour files whenever needed. Many thanks to Superkalle and you for those tools! And I really need a thorough list, if I'm ever going to be able to correct the errors when more bricks/colours/decorations become available in LDD

Thanks Zblj and Superkalle! It's part 64680 in LDD. As can be seen here, the pin does not go completely through, which in turn causes a small gap between the panel and whatever is connected to it. As noted its left hand counterpart is missing.

You should specify if the posted set is already in the index, according to topic rules. There are also a couple of errors, most notably you used the wrong kind of grey. The correct ones are "Medium Stone Grey" and "Dark Stone Grey". I also noticed that the "Outer cable 144mm" is the wrong length (the correct length is not in LDD yet) and that the "Fric. element, cylinder" is present in your screenshot, but not in the LXF. There are a few other differences when comparing this one to my LXF, but as I have found at least one error in mine I'll leave those be. Edit: Hot tip: Use Superkalle's LDD Manager to import the brick list from Bricklink before you start building. It totally rocks!
