Can someone photograph the Scooby sets at the retail booth? All photos from the Preview night, except 2 from ToyArk, tend to ignore this booth.

Scooby Doo has been in the plans, in some form, since that one concept design art, from a user named Toth on the EuroBricks forums back in 2010, depicted the gang with a monkey. It also depicted its own custom form of Ghostbusters. We know LEGO couldn't get the Scooby license as COBI had acquired that and if you can find the press release for the WB/COBI relationship it stated it made better sense COBI got it because of their long-standing relationship. Also, as I pointed out on page 37 of this thread, LEGO did a cross-over comic with Insectoids back in 1998. That issue is still online (club magazine). But yes, hopefully reviews of the sets come fast. Likely I'll be asleep since it's 11:30pm here, so it'll be 8:30pm there right now. The sets can be now found on Amazon (US) but are being sold at aftermarket (or in this case) premarket values: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&keywords=LEGO%20Scooby-Doo&linkCode=ur2&qid=1436243944&rh=n%3A165793011%2Ck%3ALEGO%20Scooby-Doo&sort=date-desc-rank&tag=studsele-20&linkId=CYAJC7PROAUE4SA2 Much higher quality photos included.

If a second wave would be made, will they use the same number series because 75905-7 are only available, so 3 more sets could be possible.

Scooby Doo gets a one page ad in this month's club mag. Will next issue be devoted to them? Update: Club, Jr devoted a 2 page activity to them. I really hope that next issue will cover Dimensions and CMF14. It should be a monstrous issue. Club code: mystery

As nice as those sets are I'm only getting them for completion purposes. I don't see anything too snazzy that I think will appeal to kids. Reviewing some old themes and old annual reports from LEGO.com, don't expect Scooby Doo to be in the top 4, even top 5. Monster Fighters didn't even make the top 4 during their year (City, Star Wars, Friends, and Ninjago did) and City, Friends, and Star Wars made the most sales in 2014 as well. In reviewing the 2002 annual report (because it had the Studios scary monsters line) you'll actually read the second half of that year (when Scary Monsters debuted) did not meet expectations (blame was put on Galidor and even devoted a paragraph or so to why it failed). Here are a couple of reasons I don't anticipate this line fairing too well: 1. It's based on a really old show that was based on really old politics. After all, the teenage gang (ages unknown) were pretty much yuppies and hippies. Their color scheme and design reflect that. How many kids are even aware of the hippies? That leads me to #2... 2. It's for younger fans. That means younger kids. The older kids might know something about hippies and even Scooby Doo. 3. Younger fans are heading towards Ninjago and Chima series. Walk into any LEGO store. As an adult, where may you find yourself? By the Simpsons section or perhaps Ideas section (especially as Ghostbusters are still on sale). Turn around... notice no one else is near you. How many kids even know about or care about The Simpsons (or Doctor Who, based on a really old show) or The Big Bang Theory? They're in the Ninjago/Chima sections and checking out Ninjago/Chima sets. Maybe even a couple Super Hero sets, but keep in mind those have not even been close to the Top 7 or so LEGO revealed in their 2014 annual report. Ok, Star Wars too but that's pretty much an AFOL thing anyway. 4. Too cartoonish. This will appeal to younger kids in terms of their appeal. But will they understand the need for the traps and mystery-solving? Do they care when they can just go grab a ninja set and have them fight each other? Their cartoonish appeal will attract kids... but is it enough for them to understand Scooby Doo? 5. What does Scooby Doo have on their side? All the other monster-related stuff coming out this year: - NinjaGo Ghost Warriors. The best way to introduce Halloween additions is by interjecting them into an existing toyline kids already know. The Ghost Warriors are said to be the last of the NinjaGo line and are already looking like this generation's Fright Knights. Will it be enough to make kids say, "Hey I wonder what other Halloween sets I can get." - Mystery Machine... and Mummy set. Of those who know Scooby Doo about the only thing iconic is the Mystery Machine. I see it as the only "gotta have it now" set in this line. If a kid is value-conscious, like I was, he or she will flock to the Mummy set because, hey, you get both Scooby and Shaggy for real cheap, plus jewels, and even a Mummy! - Hotel Transylvania 2: Yep, this generation's Monster Squad or House of Frankenstein or Mad Monster Party (whichever floats your boat) will help to show kids there are LEGO off-shoots of those monsters. Of course, the girls will actually lean more to the Monster High Mega Bloks, which will be a huge mistake made by LEGO as the line mimics their Friends line... and LEGO is badly behind on gothic girl sets. Recall 2012 was also a year for monster movies... Frankenweenie, Paranorman, and Hotel Transylvania all came out that year, the same year Monster Fighters were released, as well as its numorous polybags, accessories, and other products like clocks and books. I don't believe the CMF14 series will do well either with the little ones at all. It will help some who are completists who get all the monster sets but for the most part, don't hold your breathe.

Great find! It's a shame we're no closer to finding out who the Swamp Creature is. It's also a shame none of us pointed out that the tree monster was a robot when this months-old article had done so: http://comicbook.com/2015/02/14/lego-scooby-doo-set-images-revealed/ Makes you wonder if the pumpkins in the Mystery Mansion aren't supposed to be Pumpkin Monsters? http://scoobydoo.wikia.com/wiki/Pumpkin_monsters_%28Scooby-Doo_and_the_Witch%27s_Ghost%29

While it doesn't appear LEGO Scooby Doo will be making much of an impact at SDCC2015 (will there be polybags galore like there were with MF, or books by DK, or keychains, or more sets beyond the five, and why were there no SDCC SD exclusives, what about a Club t-shirt???) beyond a Mystery Machine and Gang brick exhibit, it does appear there is a cross-over movie with its own panel: Scooby Doo will join KISS. Could this lead to some kind of second wave for Scooby Doo? I'm doubting it but it's interesting to know. Scary Monsters. I don't know how well known this tidbit is since the Internet was nothing like it is today, back in 2002 when the original Studios Monster line appeared. The name appeared as a graphic and in the text description of the theme in the 2002 Summer S@H catalog. It did, however appear on the 2002 Studios web site (that info is archived at the Web Archive for October 2002) in the screening room, telling fans to go see the "Scary Thriller sets." At that same time they also had 2 monster videos: Scary Thriller and Scary Thriller, Director's Cut. The director's cut is simple to find, the original isn't actually named Scary Thriller anywhere on Youtube. The original did come with the 1382's CD of Sound FX as "monsters.mov." I have seen sites and wikis call the monster subtheme "Classics" and I don't recall anywhere it was officially named. Even the catalogs did not refer to it by any other name than Studios, if I recall.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
kelceycoe replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't understand why people have a hard time understanding they can put Disney characters in minifigure form. Or even create new molds like they did with Spongebob, Simpsons, TMNT, and Scooby. I think people are getting way too caught up in tradition. Traditionally Disney Parks focused on their movies and shows... Oh wait they still do... But the movies and shows have changed and so have the parks attractions. Get with the times. The minifigure is changing. Again (it already changed). It's terrible but Lego seems bent on emphasizing they are marketing their products for kids, not AFOLs. We have the modulars and UCS, and we have the $$$ to buy them. Kids depend on parents and a lot of parents wouldn't spend more than $100 on a Disney castle which is why they're all lower than that. BTW... Entex Loc Blocs sold a Magic Kingdom castle.- 4,155 replies

I was referring to the exclusive sets and even a display does count when more models will be there. With almost all the sets being Superheros and Star Wars LEGO looks to please Disney the most.

They are due in the US August 1. It is very possible with Toys R Us' reputation that they will appear early at their stores nationwide.

Thanks to the BesyBuy.ca leaks that were posted about a month ago, we know exactly who the Mummy and Creepy Keeper are. The ONLY villain we know nothing about is the Swamp Creature (they called him Mr. Brown). They seem to no longer appear on Google's cache so here is what they were listed as: Creepy Keeper / Verona Dempsey - What's New, Scooby Doo? 301. Fright House of a Lighthouse Mummy of Ankha / Dr.Najib - SDWAY: 112. Scooby Doo and a Mummy, Too Headless Horsemen / Elwood Crane - TSDS: 105. The Headless Horseman of Halloween Zombie / Zeke - SDWAY: 113. Which Witch is Which? Tree Monster - Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost movie Flyrtrap Lily - SDWAY: 205 Haunted House Hang-Up The Phantom / Bluestone the Great - SDWAY 103. Hassle in the Castle Dracula / BIg Bob Oakley - SDWAY: 111 A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts Black Knight Ghost / Mr.Wickles - SDWAY 101 What a Night for a Knight Swamp Creature / Mr. Brown - ???? A typo maybe but non of the guys had a monocle???? Could it be the one from WNSD: A Scooby-Doo Halloween or Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island / DTV2. Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost or a new villain or what? This is the most confusing. All we know based on the face reveal is it's an older man with an eye glass (monocle). Within the Scooby Doo lore, known villains with monocles are Brunch, Penguin, Professor Zongo, Scotty O'Rourke, Uncle Shagworthy. His face looks much like The Penguin's out of all of them. UPDATE: As I mentioned before all the major villains that appear in the Lego line are found at http://www.scoobydoo.com/ which also gives their real names. Based on this information they are suggesting the Swamp Creature to be a Sea Demon played by Gilly Stern. This would not make sense since Gilly has no monocle (aside from the fact it's the wrong episode). Why on earth this is so confusing is beyond me - the official site is a really good cheat list and like I said the BestBuy links confirmed all but the swamp creature to be right. It is neat to know the Benevolent Lodge of Mystery are a lot like what that guy who made the sketch above invisioned in his gang with a monkey and it's right out of Scooby lore.

SLIMER???? THIS SITE CLAIMS TO HAVE THESE IN STOCK. I doubt it but maybe someone can check it out. http://www.fishpond.co.nz/c/Toys/p/LEGO+Scooby-Doo Also they list the 2014 Pre-eliminary box images (obvious the set photos are not on the boxes but cool otherwise).

August Store Calendar released; very small snippet of Scooby Doo mentioned on reverse... Hopefully Scooby gets more promotion in October when it is expected a Halloween scene set will be released. Or will LEGO continue to use MF graphics this Halloween? What special attractions will the parks be doing for Halloween this year - last year one of the parks (Denmark maybe) literally built a Haunted House based on the set. You can find Youtube videos of the ride and attraction. Hopefully Scooby gets more love. It's cool that a neat Pirate set is being 0ffered but couldn't they have at least offered a Scooby set for the MMB?

Yes. You will see both the figures sold individually, likely for $15, as well as the stands with the game data, probably around $5. People will sell them and people will buy them, it's inevitable.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
kelceycoe replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
FYI: For those of you who are complaining about Rocker Monster... have you ever attended the Universal Studios Beetlejuice show in Orlando? If I recall in one of the older versions the Monster plays a guitar. I could be wrong but I swear I've seen a monster play a guitar. Spider Lady looks familiar, maybe elvira? -

So you're saying, in addition to what will probably be a Scooby Doo web site, there will also be an app for phones? Do you know when the Scooby Doo site will be launched? Will there mini games that accompany the site? Or perhaps one big game like Monsterland Tales? What about activities like coloring pages or masks?

Any news on a LEGO web site? Monster Fighters had a site in the May of that year but I didn't recall the sets being released until July or August. I noticed Jurassic World's went online about the same time their product line was released so perhaps we won't see it until closer to release date?
