  1. Well if they go the Star Wars route they'll just create a new theme. There's been god knows how many Star Wars subthemes since it first started in 1999?
  2. UPDATES: * The January 2016 catalog does not have ANY Scooby Doo product listed for sale (US version). * Although there is no indication that "Knight Time Terror" special will be coming to DVD, one is left to wonder if this upcoming preschool book uses most of the monsters from the theme to help lure preschool kids to buy this book (well their parents anyway) - http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-LeapReader-Book-Scooby-Doo-Knights/dp/B001H0U86S/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451105602&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=lego+%22knight+time+terror%22+scooby+doo * The S@H site actively lists ALL products, including the 3-set Collection containing only the SDWAY sets from the theme. * The LEGO CLUB January-February 2016 magazines do NOT promote this theme whatsoever and both red and green brick editions focus on Nexo Knights and Star Wars, understandably. Indicating this theme, at least, was a Halloween theme. Obviously we don't know if it will be officially discontinued or added to the closer to Halloween again (although I'm shocked we haven't had any clues since this theme was immaturely hinted at November 2014 and was released August 2015) or whether an entirely new theme (if any) will replace it. As I state constantly in the Scooby Doo forum and on my site, TLC doesn't really respect Halloween all too much.
  3. Kinda related... TLC now recognizes "LEGO Ghostbusters" as an official LEGO theme. You can see this when you hover the THEMES tab at the LEGO Shop at Home page and it appears. If you browse the pictorial theme page it reuses the IDEAS button but as a theme and currently redirects you to the S@H homepage. (We can assume the LEGO Dimensions sets will appear along side the HQ and Ecto-1 when they are released). And of course in the January 2016 S@H Catalog: http://shop.lego.com...-01-usjan_75dpi Complete with its own LEGO theme logo!!! Only the HQ and Ecto-1 are sold on this page but the online catalog appears distorted on that page and if you advance through it you'll learn why (it's kinda more a surprise if you're a kid, I don't think adults will care all too much). The Brick Bank is also shown but on the back. The LEGO CLUB January-February 2016 magazines do NOT promote this theme whatsoever and both red and green brick editions focus on Nexo Knights and Star Wars, understandably.
  4. LEGO OFF-BRAND DISNEY MINIFIGS COULD HINT AT WHAT'S TO COME... I'm guessing these minifigs will have specially molded heads, especially since almost every Mickey lego piece has and all the other non-Lego sets (like Smurfs) that devoted an entire line to special heads. Plus the fact that the bootleg off-brand companies are doing it, TLC is left with no choice but to do it better... http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Pcs-Minifigures-Cute-Cartoon-Donald-Duck-And-Mickey-Mouse-Building-Blocks-Toys/121818585058?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D034ddabe0c254f7c8831bc967f5fd317%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D111831381780
  5. ^^^ I pointed that out back in November when the mag came out. UPDATES: Bootleg LEGO Scooby Doo figures exist. Beware unless you really want these for their variations: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6sets-Scooby-Doo-Mini-Figures-Minifigs-Building-Blocks-Toy-Kids-Christmas-Gifts/111831381780?_trksid=p5411.c100168.m2941&_trkparms=aid%3D333008%26algo%3DRIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140131123801%26meid%3D1bbeb9c59a3349fab13c62bd0b533a74%26pid%3D100168%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D141706586898
  6. Keep in mind that this is the FREE set TLC promised Sergio who made the popular GBHQ in Ideas that claimed TLC was ripping off of him, and now this is HIS REVIEW of TLC's set. He has seen removed himself from participating any further with the IDEAS platform. In other words, he got EXCLUSIVE REVIEW RIGHTS BEFORE ANYONE ELSE THANKS TO TLC lol. Nevertheless, he presents an awesome review of the set and makes it very interesting to buy.
  7. UPDATES: It has been confirmed that, here in the United States, LEGO SCOOBY DOO: Knight Time Terror did premiere on Cartoon Network on November 25, 2015 and again on November 28. You can find 6 short clips from this special on LEGO's Scooby Doo website, although 2 seemed to not be working for me. Here is the official trailer:
  8. This is the old mod and what was in the old link. I videoed the new mod along with my mansion and Ghostbusters Ecto-1 mods. I'll add those when I feel like it. But for now... https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y7mwrrjbnccvxz6/AABZ6faMLeED8zOczCcIxBnVa?dl=0
  9. Exactly. Someone has gotta break and review this.
  10. Are we even sure the video is coming?
  11. Technically speaking... Fan-based instructions of a licensed LEGO model without the licensors permission is copyright violation because it's a derivative work. Look up that word. Not too many companies go after fans. It's bad PR.
  12. I'll do better and send it to everyone in the form of a post, lol: Custom printed pieces (signs): http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCS-GhostBusters-Accessories-Custom-Lego-Ecto-1-21108-city-minifig-Signs-/141706586898?hash=item20fe5eeb12:g:ugYAAOSw-vlVkixz Ghostbusters gear: (even the stuff TLC never made): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-GHOSTBUSTERS-Lego-Black-Proton-Pack-Gun-Goggles-Green-Slime-PKE-Meter-/262136176185?hash=item3d08889e39:g:zLAAAOSwstxVNUs- SLIMER (the real one coming in January) - http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Lego-Ghostbusters-Slimer-mini-figure-display-base-not-included-71241-/201466173367?hash=item2ee851d7b7:g:wuAAAOSwLzdWRNig Search for "lego ghostbusters custom" on ebay and you'll even find custom alternate costumes of existing characters and sometimes a custom Walter Peck or even Gozer.
  13. They already have and its on Ebay.
  14. Are you hinting something to us? About this time last year the Scooby Doo theme became a rumor and then was finally revealed in January.
  15. I wanna know how to scale the inside garage is with the car inside looking at the doors open to the inside. Is there enough room people could walk on the left side like Walter Peck did?
  16. Actually, no I was not. I'm speaking for what I am constantly seeing in American stores, I noticed both of you are from England and internationally the properties are likely fairing better, it's just the way that it is, simply because there are more people internationally than in America and LEGO sets are not as easy to come by as they are in America. But here in America every Walmart/Toys R Us is fully stocked with Scooby Doo sets (and my Toys R Us still has the CMF14 series) and I guarantee you'll find that true for most LEGO stores in America. Scooby Doo is a "dissolved property" here in America. I spoke all the time in the Scooby Doo thread about why it's not very popular - because the Lego line appeals only to kids and other than the Mystery Machine there's no appeal to adults. Ghostbusters has had mass appeal - that's the advantage to a PG-13 film. I remember many adults liking the film in the '80s, a time before there were so many "adult children" here in America, so it's more meaningful when working adults in that era liked something that could be mistaken for a kids property. With few exceptions, Scooby Doo has already appealed to kids and the recent attempts to make CG films ultimately fell flat so bad that the sequels were almost all direct-to-video releases. The majority of adults who like Scooby Doo were once kids who watched Scooby Doo. Many of the adults in that era weren't watching kid shows, they were too busy catering to the family establishment here in America. Or at Woodstock, lol. Ghostbusters is the more popular property and will sell much better than Scooby Doo. TLC won't have to pull any shady tactics by limiting retailers a certain number had they not made the set exclusive to them (and those sets almost always end up sold through online store versions of major storefronts like Target & Walmart) so that online review sites could claim the sets are selling fast in order to get more people to buy impulsively so they would actually sell. Add to the fact that the Ghostbusters set has been out over a year and TLC is still promoting it, especially on the Shop's page's Ideas button listed in Products, whereas Scooby Doo was rarely even promoted during Halloween except as a blurb on their Halloween site as TLC chose to focus on heavily marketing their CMF14 line since Halloween items in the retail world are not big sellers outside of the Halloween season (which starts in August for many of them, hence why Scooby Doo was released).
  17. Let's not forget to mention GHOSTBUSTERS is WAY MORE POPULAR than Scooby Doo and the Scooby Doo sets are OVERFLOWING store shelves AS WE SPEAK thanks to TLC pulling a bad marketing plot and releasing only a few sets in the beginning to give the illusion they'll "sold out" when really they "didn't make enough." Yea, probably also so many didn't go to waste LIKE THEY ARE NOW JUST SITTING ON THE SHELVES UNSOLD!!!!
  18. MOD Update. I'll likely extend the bedroom and move the arcade against the doorway along the bare wall beside the door. There is a lot of space even before the mods. Again, bare wall can be fixed with combination of making the set a modular and rebuilding the wall with red bricks. Add windows if you want the back to be functional.
  19. Tell me about it. This whole wall bs started a couple pages back and despite some new updates coming to light (mainly Sergio's statement and angst towards LEGO's version for having some identical designs as his) I see the wall will be talked about for ages. I was once a "LEGO puritan." Every set I bought I never modified. But that was when LEGO sets were, well LEGO sets and full of imagination and creativity. Now they're designed to be less unimaginative and appealing to fit the standards of popular culture demands and current norms while trying to comply with LEGO's quality standards and their array of "political correctness" philosophies to adhere to the modern corporate, globalized demands called "social responsibility.". Dunno. I thought someone might have taken a couple from the factory. It's way too early for even LEGO stores to be getting them and assuming they do sell them early (we already know they get them up to 2 weeks early) then they will be available at regular price for the Christmas season unless there are major restrictions from LEGO preventing this (and I seriously doubt that).
  20. Bound to happen. You can also buy Slimer now on Ebay for just $20. Not to mention custom-print GB signs that are better suited for the Firehouse. UPDATE: You can buy the Firehouse HQ from Germany on Ebay for over $500... http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-75827-Ghostbusters-Firehouse-Headquarters-NEU-NEW-/121814248741?hash=item1c5cb1ed25:g:g~MAAOSwkZhWRgDw
  21. For the people who don't like the back (that's really what buildings look like that have been built against another building) what modifications do you propose changing? I think we'll get farther in this thread if we start making suggestions to our opinions or distastes. I suggest to those who hate the back... Make It Look Pretty... Buy some extra windows from Bricklink or even LEGO's Brick or Pieces when the set comes out and replace all the tan sections with windows. You may need extra bricks to fill in the spaces. You could also just make the wall a solid red with nothing at all. A plain red backing would look better to most people than a realistic backing of multiple tans. Turn the Set into a Modular Like the Movie... Or better yet make it a modular. Instead of attaching a building to the side, attach something, say the Detective's office building, to the back to cover the "ugly back." You'd have to remove the hinges and make the set unable to be opened (or simply just make the roof come off and the left side of the wall detachable, so many ways to open this set. It's gonna look a lot like a computer desktop tower so you can keep the roof and make it open from both sides like a computer desktop tower, lol). You'd also have to add the holey bricks and pegs but honestly those are cheap. What are your suggestions or plans to mod the back?
  22. Care to show us a photo?
  23. It's on LEGO's Facebook page. The best way to mod this is is to extend the back by another square baseplate the offices are on. You can pretty much figure the rest from there. You can easily turn this into a modular with minor modifications. You'll need another baseplate, put your modular on this new baseplate, remove part of the sidewalk first from the GB Firehouse (left side recommended) and add the bricks with holes into the Firehouse. You will need to make sure they align with the modular with studs. With little know-how its much simpler than you think.
  24. I actually was going to get 2 to modify it so the car could fit better but I think it would cause more problems with all the leftover space I'd have and just be more demanding of more money. Then again, I could make Janine and Louis Ghostbusters and they'd have their separate bedroom to share with Winston. If I were to do it I'd buy one and buy the second without the minifigs. I already have 2 Ecto-1s so I could modify it so all four get fit and all 4 of their proton packs (video coming soon) if you don't mind them sitting in a straight line inside lol.
