I have noticed this as well. Both in store aisles, and online inventory of various retailers. Personally - I think it's a combination of things. The Avengers sets have more new, attractive characters in them. Many are already underwhelmed with the design and price of the Copter (personally I'm going to grab one... On sale eventually). But mostly the lack of variety in Spidey himself. There are already several Spider-man minifigs, and they are all identical. Even Batman has variances/different suits to make getting another one not so horrible. I like the idea of them making sets based on USM. There are tons of great characters they could do (And I like they even threw in a classic Doc Ock). Hopefully next wave will see White Tiger so we have the core team. But at least for me, I'm not very interested in any new Spidey's that aren't variants (Iron Spider, Scarlet, Black Suit, etc).

There was a link to this catalog that shows the GotG sets: http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/swexperience/new-york-toy-fair-2014/PR_Catalog_2014_FullBook_LoRes.pdf I think that's about it... And it's March so the MM promo is available. Welcome back!

They did with the Truck Heist set (including a "classic" Doc Ock) that set SAYS it's based on Ultimate Spider-Man but he's way different looking in that show. Hopefully the trend continues and we get a set or three a year with the classics :)

All of the new spring sets that went to Sold Out have in the first line of their description "Will be available March 1st!". (I also rarely read descriptions hehe) So they'll be around in time for the MM promo :) Nice find! Thanks for sharing!

All of the new/Spring (Marvel/DC, SW, HF, Chima) sets are marked as Sold Out on the US site. Not sure if they just pulled them all because they were up too early or what, but they can't possibly ALL actually be sold out. Hoping they reappear on March 1st for the MM promotion :)

I suggested that a while back (before we got to see the keychain). I still think there's a chance of it. If it doesn't come with the movie, there is still the possibility of a retailer exclusive some time this year (since DC is short one set in this current wave vs. Marvel). I'm still surprised/astounded we can get a MM next month! Love the character but I think many would have assumed a GL first.

Ok so I saw this and kept counting over and over again, and can't figure out who the fourth is? There is Col. James Rhodes (War Machine/Iron Patriot), Sam Wilson (Falcon), and Luke Cage (Power Man). Are you counting Nick Fury as a superhero for a 4th? We're only shy a White Tiger now from the teenage Ultimate Spidey (cartoon) team, so we can hope for a Hispanic female/latina soon :) As for DC ~ I haven't actually read comics in a LOOONG time. Aside from Cyborg and the one version of Green Lantern ARE there any major/popular characters of color? (Not counting Catwoman since she swaps back and forth at random). There really needs to be a lot more people of color since fleshies are becoming the norm with licenses.

That's insane! Those are the EXACT prices (numerically) as USD, but with the pound being stronger that makes zero sense >< Spider-copter is poorly priced here as well. Somewhere around .10/piece is a decent rule of thumb price. But it seems anything with a big fig gets jacked up. Back on topic, built the Hydra Tank last night. LOVE the suspension. The overall design was very retro/period feeling. Out of all the sets I own I've only bought 3 at full retail Hulk Lab Smash, Hydra Tank, and my first out of dark ages set - MF Hearse and I'm pleased to report no buyers remorse :)

That trailer made my wife say "Well, maybe we should see it in the theater". (As opposed to earlier reports of "You can watch it when it's available to rent" ;) ) Funny you guys are talking about Lab Smash and Hydra Tank half a world away; I just picked those two up myself last night. Drove all over town to find them! Built the lab, I think Just2good did one of those video reviews, so not much to say - if it looks good to you (like it did to me) you aren't going to be disappointed. I was super happy to have a Falcon! Looking forward to the Hydra Tank tomorrow. (Have to save a few to get from LEGO shop @ home next month for my Martian Manhunter!).

I agree on a comic GL over the SDCC one. Pretty excited seeing that picture of the LED light, actually. As for Sin - We can always hope for a Green Lantern that includes Sinestro (I'm just wondering how Batman would fit in, since he would obviously be there ;) ).

That looks great! Definitely more impressive than the original dragster.

The 3 spidey sets, the hydra tank, hulk lab, penguin set, and steamroller are all showing up as available on the US lego shop. The search seems a little wonky, but they all come up using tags ("new", "marvel heroes", etc).

Thanks Wesker :) I had no idea that piece came in red/orange or that there was a guy mini-doll (not a big Friends fan). I'll definitely be looking into that. The sentinel still looks really skinny to me, but that shouldn't be too hard to bulk up. The jet is actually really impressive. And seeing Storm's leg printing is great news!

So which hairpiece will look best on Cyclops to avoid the head nipple? (It's great they are including hairpieces for Magneto and Wolverine, but Cyclops looks like the one that needs one the most).

The bad thing about so many of these new sets appearing early: Having to wait until March to get them direct instead of snapping a few up at Walmart or TRU for the Martian Manhunter fig :)

Lego Hobbit Video Game Exclusive Minifigure Announced
The-Daryl replied to mrfootball's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is a neat idea for a minifig, but it should have come with unexpected gathering, not as the video game exclusive, imo. Marvel came with Iron Patriot, and LoTR with Elrond... "side" characters that someone might like to have instead of reprints of main characters. Then the completest in me thinks - I suppose it'll still be cheaper to just preorder the game than to wait for a good sale and ebay the fig hehe. -
I saw The Joker Steamroller, and Spiderman Junior set on the shelves of a local Walmart tonight (No sign of any other of the new Marvel, or Penguin, but they did have some Star Wars Microfighters also). So some of them are hitting shelves for those that can't wait a couple more weeks!

It trips me out how much attention folks pay to that system. Cuusoo isn't really a good indicator of interest. It's more like a popularity contest. Folks that use social media to advertise end up getting hundreds (or even thousands) of votes from people that don't even purchase LEGO products, and won't buy the one they voted for. Cuusoo seems like a great idea in theory, but right now, it's only seems to be used to explore pop culture licenses in one form or another. No super hero set is ever going to win (they'll say it conflicts with an ongoing/planned project). That said, I'll be pretty irked if the next D2C super hero is DC. We've got Arkham already. It's Marvel's turn. (And as much as I am looking forward to getting a Martian Manhunter - a polybag figure was Marvel's turn also). But we'll see. It's evergreen and stuff now. So in only 10 or 15 years there is a chance that not every DC will be Batman-centric, and not every Marvel set will be Spiderman/Avengers-centric :D

Same name, different character. That's the "Golden Age" version - During the 1940s, Marvel predecessor Timely Comics published stories featuring an unrelated superhero called the Vision, who was an alien from an alternate dimension. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vision_(Marvel_Comics) Not everyone with even the most iconic look remains the same in the MCU though, so we'll see what they come up with, and then see what LEGO does with it :) (Complete aside but - Personally, I'm hoping they skip the love interest. Olsen is almost HALF Bettany's age. Just sorta creepy (imo)) I just want a LEGO Winter Soldier. And a pony. And some ice cream.

Well I wouldn't go so far as to say I am taking it as gospel, or getting super excited about it; it's just good news is all :) I'm not sure why you would think people would get disappointed - Zzz was clearly interested in the theme, took a close look, took time to tell us about it, answer questions about it and even ask a friend for anything he might has missed. That attention to detail seems above confusing 3 for 4.

Good news there are 4 GotG sets :) I wonder which retailer (in the US) gets the exclusive one (since there were only 3 in the general retail catalog). Target? Walmart? Toys R Us (please no!) ? Personally - As much as I like getting more sets, I really dislike retailer exclusives; they are much harder to find frequent deals/sales on.
