    Eidsvoll 1814

Very nice. Since I was born and grew up in Eidsvoll I have wanted to see a good Lego build of that building.
  2. Anyone wanting to be an engineer?
  3. How big, approximately, is the table you have built this on?
  4. My nerd-o-meter just broke. Fantastic set!
  5. My Fire Brigade is in the mail, bought at retail price. Couldn't really afford it, but I agree with others here that it will soon become more expensive. Next up is GE for me and hopefully finances are in place before retailers become sold out or increase the price.
  6. I'd like to see some kind of monastery or cathedral/church building. But I have never seen Lego make sets that are tied to religions. Maybe they have some sort of policy of not getting into religious themes since there are always whack-jobs out there who will get offended.
  7. Fire brigade. It's still available at reasonable prices. Then more modulars after that as I don't have any. Hopefully I can get the medieval market village some time too.
  8. Hi, I just found a store typically aiming at collectors and they sell every city modular except Market Street. I am wondering which one I should go for. I don't have any of them yet. This store even has Green Grocer and Cafe Corner but the prices are just ridiculous (at least 1700$). I am thinking of getting one that is expected to (or already is) very hard to get before the price rises to the levels of GG and CC. Is perhaps Fire Brigade the best option? I see the that Lego's online shop doesn't have this in stock (at the moment). Or does the Lego community expect some of the others currently available to become more sought after and more expensive in the future?
  9. Helm's deep is about 1 cent cheaper per brick compared to 2013 King's Castle.
  10. Thank you for the responses. My plan is to just use it for storage and display, building will be done elsewhere with proper working conditions Maybe there will be a need for building a better room down there later.
  11. Hi. After 20+ years in the dark ages I have come back to Lego. My first build is finished (Orthanc) but I have promised my wife that I will find a proper place to store the Lego before starting the next build. We have a rather big house, but with few possibilities. The kids have a playroom, but there is no chance in a certain hot place I will set up my 2400 piece, 73 cm tall black tower for my youngest one to destroy. I find it hard to explain to a 18 months old that he can't play with...well anything. I do have one option: Our basement. But I don't know if the conditions down there are suitable. It's a cold basement usually used to store outdoor furniture, tools, bikes etc etc. There is no heat and concrete floor. There is only one window, but very little sunlight. As far as I know we don't have problems with moisture. Does this seem like a good place to store Lego? Any precautions I should make?
  12. She actually did research on forums (not sure which one) before getting me Orthanc so I trust she'll give me something awesome next time too
  13. Hello. I am back in the Lego business after more than 20 years hiatus. I stopped building/playing in early 1990s. But after we got our first kid in 2010 I have been telling my wife how I look forward to the time he gets old enough to build "proper" Lego (currently Duplo is on the table, but not very interesting for me). She got bored of my nagging about it and decided to get me Tower of Orthanc for christmas to shut me up. And hence the spark was lit! I'll probably go for big sets and perhaps try some MOC/MOD based on these, but firstly I need to get an overview of all the new pieces and building techniques that have emerged and been developed in the last 20+ years.
