I got set 75082 mainly for the Inquisitor and the Imperial Officer minifigs, but I decided to give the build a go today since I heard a lot of positive comments on it. I have to say that the build includes good ideas for the TIE fuselage that are definitive improvements to how other system scale TIEs have been built in the past. Once finished, I went in and modified the build quite a bit to get it closer to the proportions of the craft as seen in the show. This meant I had to get rid of the shooter play feature in order to remove a one plate wide section from the lower part of the fuselage. I also made sure the circular cockpit screen is centered and that the lower half of the fuselage mirrors the angled bricks of the top half. I also got rid of most dark bley bricks and replaced them with their light grey counterparts. Lastly, I made the four characteristic panels one stud higher and removed a one plate wide area from the center build that attaches the panels to the fuselage. I also built a stand for the model in the form of a mini-diorama that depicts the scene from the Rebels episode Empire Day in which the TIE Advanced Prototype was first presented as the climax of an imperial parade: Enjoy!

[MOC] AT-DP from Star Wars Rebels
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks a lot. As I always say with all things creative - talent might be a good starting point, but what's most important is practice, practice, practice. I'd be happy to. I hope this is of help to you: Here's the updated model with improved plating on the top of the cockpit and the printed domes from the official set added to it:- 45 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You don't need to like everything Star Wars to consider yourself a Star Wars fan, that'd just be silly. It is absolutely viable to say you are a Star Wars fan, like the OT and dislike the PT. Where most people fail is to actually articulate WHY they like or dislike something, or WHAT they like or dislike, both of which are actually way more interesting than the mere statement 'I like or dislike xy'. As for the teaser: It really puzzles me what a fuss is made, both positive and negative, with regards to a little tiny teaser. Patience, you must learn patience! -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

Who the heck is Willrow Hood, and who's responsible for him? This is like getting minifigs for all those silly characters who just show up to clutter the screen with cgi Lucas invented for the Prequel Triology, whose names are testament to the deep thought that went into them. Do we get minifigs for those, too? I hope not. Who wants a minifig that looks like a cheap cartoon and has a name like Gumbloo Bumbleboo Flaknut Noodlepurk Parzipurz Klaggletooth Shnigfit Gimblehurz Great stuff, George, great stuff! -
Impressive! Most impressive!

Great interior you've built there - got me thinking back to the boarding action at the beginning of A New Hope. I'm looking forward to the continuation of this story by both of you and Disco86! -
This is a neat idea. Wouldn't it be funny to put a taxi driver with a shaven head except for a black iro of hair left in it...

[MOC] AT-DP from Star Wars Rebels
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks a lot for the encouraging comments. I'm glad you like the model. I'll post a picture with all my ground vehicle MOCs and minifigs from Star Wars Rebels, soon. I'm planning on getting the AT DP set from my local Lego store by the end of this week and add the printed bubble pieces to the head section. As for the legs - they are very stable. You can handle the model normally and push it around without any parts getting loose or coming off. I don't like Lego models that loose parts as soon as you touch them or move them around, so stability is always an important factor for me. The construction of the legs is pretty easy and has proven to be a lot sturdier than I thought when I first experimented with it:- 45 replies

First of all a shout-out to Delta62, who built and posted an impressive Imperial Troop Transport before I did. To complete my MOCs of iconic ground vehicles from the Star Wars Rebels show, I've finished my minifig-scale version of the Imperial Troop Transport. It is sturdy, and for accuracy in shapes, proportions and details I used the Star Wars Rebels Visual Guide as a reference once again. Here's the model: Here's the vehicle with all doors and hatches on one side opened: The whole top can be pulled off easily to gain acceess to the inside. As you can see, there's a lot of space to transport goods, weapons or troops, as well as a seperate and detailed cockpit section that can hold a driver, an officer and three more passengers. I textured the middle-section of the top so that a few studs are exposed on which cargo boxes holding meilooran-fruits and other luxuries can be attached: Enjoy!

I 'm planning on getting the Lego AT-DP set soon for the Agent Kallus minifig. Being an AFOL MOCer, though, I thought to myself: Why not build the vehicle right now? It's one of the three iconic 'Rebels'-specific vehicles in my eyes, alongside the Imperial Troop Transport and the Ghost. My aim was to build it as clean and accurate as possible. This meant to get the legs as thin as possible without compromising stability, which I think I succeeded in quite well. Here's the model: I didn't manage to add an opening hatch at the top, but made a hole that fits a minifig covered by a 2x4 tile that is not attached to any studs: The whole plating on the top of the cockpit area can bi hinged open to gain easy access to the interior which comfortably fits two drivers and is also built as clean as possible: I hope you like it. Constructive criticism and comments are welcome!

MOC: Star Wars Rebels Imperial Troop Transporter

The angled surfaces to the front of this vehicle are hard to get right with Lego, but you did a good job on those. A great model overall! -
[MOC] Ezra's Speeder Bike / 614 AvA
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's a custom. I just put in the picture because I think it's a shame Lego didn't include her helmet with the set. I'm pretty sure we get an official version of Sabine's helmet this year, though.- 14 replies

Since I've build Ezra's speeder bike much closer to minifig-scale recently, I also wanted to build Kanan's speeder bike, as depicted in the Star Wars: Rebels Visual Guide. This one proved to be a lot more difficult to get all the correct proportions, angles and details in that small scale, but I'm pretty happy with the result: Here's a picture with Ezra's and Kanan's speeder bike side by side to give a size comparison: Enjoy!

This one looks very cool and detailed for the size. One question, though: How do you put a minifig on it?

Another user here has reported of exactly the same problem today. It seems like S@H has some issues today. You should propably call customer service. -
Since I got Set 75090 for the Sabine Wren Minifig, I decided to build the speeder bikes from that set today. The models are good, but once I checked the Star Wars: Rebels Visual Guide I realized that they were far too large for the minifigs. So I set out to build my own version of this vehicle and make it smaller so that it is closer to minifig-scale. Here's what I've come up with: And here's what my own version of Set 75090 looks like: I hope you like it.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yep, I was really impressed with the quality when I received it - the material and print is Lego-quality. Sabine Wren without her helmet is a no-no, especially for someone like me who's collecting all Rebels characters. I never bought custom parts before but finally pulled the trigger on this and paid more than 30 Euros (call me crazy) - what counts at the end of the day is that I'm happy with the product, though. -
What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
My first little order from Lego's online shop this year arrived yesterday. I ordered 2 x 75078 for the 4 Stormtroopers, of course. I also ordered 75090 for Sabine Wren, so that the top-quality printed custom helmet I got for her last month finally is in the hands of the right minifig: -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes. Excellent qualitiy regarding both print and detail/accuracy. I'll post images as part of a little vignette once I got the Lego Sabine. Nope. My local Lego store here in Germany has a good chance of having some winter 2015 sets on the shelf this saturday, a store employee told me. That's why I keep my fingers crossed until then. -

With a little bit of luck, I'll get my hands on the speeder chase set and Sabine this saturday - fingers crossed. What's funny, though: I already have Sabine's helmet! -
Mark Hamill, when he was asked if he would join the cast of EPVII, made it a specific prerequisite that they use real props, real sets, models etc. and only resort to cgi where there's no other way to do it. I guess it was a good thing that JJ Abrams wanted to go that route anyway. So...

[MOC] The GHOST from Star Wars: Rebels
DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Okay, I will make instructions, it'll just take some time, because I don't do LDD, but take breakdown photographs instead. Since this model is huge and some parts of the inner structure a bit complex, this will take a lot of pictures. So the first thing for me to do is break down the model into sections, and then break down the sections into steps that will allow you to understand how they are built. They will come, just bear with me. Also: You'll never have to pay for instructions for my MOCs. This should be fun, not a monetary issue. This is not meant as an offence to MOCers who do sell instructions, though! Who am I to say my way is the only right way. -

DarthTwoShedsJackson replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To be honest, I don't get where this 'they are lazy because they only recycle old designs'-bandwagon comes from. If you look at the vehicle designs of the prequel movies, stuff was made to look like a less evolved version of vehicles we knew from the Original Trilogy. There were wedge-shaped capital starships that looked like early star destroyers. There've been walkers in any shape or size. There were republic ships that looked like an early version of the corellian corvette. There were CIS ships that were reminiscent of the ship designs in the rebel fleet. You had ships with elements of later Tie fighters. So I don't get why not use similar designs for the new movies. Also, if you look at the lifespan of real fighter craft and warships, for example, you get to 30+ years of service for many. I'd rather have a wellmade rehash of vehicle designs than a poor rehash of the story. -

I'm pretty sure a Falcon set (or two) will be out next year alongside the release of The Force Awakens. It's an iconic ship. It's in the new movies. Heck, they've build a movieset for the interior, so there will surly be quite some scenes in the movie onboard the Falcon. -
