Just a quick one, will there be another GWP this year or was it just the one ? cheers

One of the answers I saw is regarding connection issues to the BT controller/phone. Namely, if the signal is lost the motor automatically stops. There is no more switch on power and forget about it... That might be be a pain if you just wander off out of range...

Hi, You've got some nice models there, like the comment above any UK/Euro trains would be fantastic. I do have a question though: On your site you say "By purchasing these instructions, you agree not to sell, reproduce, or distribute these instructions. You also agree not to sell or distribute the model made from these instructions." The first part seems to be a reasonable request to protect your work, but I don't think you could enforce the second part. If I sourced the parts, minus stickers and instructions, then I don't see how you could stop me from selling the model. Take the UCS Falcon (10179) on Bricklink : Bricklink UCS 10179 there's quite a few selling "bricklinked" versions, is this ok ? Wouldn't this affect all second-hand/pre-owned sales of anything ever made ? I would like to hear everyones thoughts on this. cheers CB

You can load the parts inventory directly into Bricklink. On Bricklink's wanted tab, select upload, from there you can just drag your .LXF file onto the webpage and it will load them in. That being said, like most things on Bricklink, it takes a little getting used to, as if BL detects a piece in an invalid color or if the part number is missing a "b" or similar off the end, it will refuse to upload. With the added bonus that it doesn't tell which part failed the load process. However, if you work with these limitations its a lot easier to get a wanted list into the system. From the Wanted list, you can use the easybuy feature which looks for all your pieces in the wanted list and tries to find the cheapest price. There are of course options to play with, but it works quite well.

The Egyptian sets were the ones that got me out of the "dark ages", so I would have to vote for those. I have been a fan of Ancient Egypt for quite a while, travelling around the world to view the artifacts, so when I was casually skimming through eBay I came across these sets, purely by accident. From there my forgotten love of all things brick reignited....

CamelBoy68 replied to CamelBoy68's topic in General LEGO Discussion
cool, thanks for the replies -
I've heard that the US are changing the current wall to one which is building a specific model - no more bulk cups Anyone in the US care to confirm this ?

Power Functions Parts in UK Lego Stores?
CamelBoy68 replied to AG-Spike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've seen some of that in the past, I was looking for the lights at the time. I would suggest giving the store you want to visit a quick call to confirm. http://stores.lego.com/en-gb/stores If you hover over the store name, the number is shown. -

I'll have you know a Schrieber fitted bedroom suite and Parker Knoll chairs were the height of good taste........ I know what you mean, but I was tied into the standard door frame scale which has made it a bit more squashed that in RL. I don't think that would work in the centre of the main windows, plus without making curtains, the studs of the 1x2s obscure the "clearness" of the windows, much like the net curtains that were there.

Previously I had built my fathers old office building for his 70th Birthday http://www.eurobrick...c=74056&hl=kent now it was my mothers turn. Last November she also turned 70 and I again wanted to build something special. She had mentioned she liked dolls houses as a child, so I thought the perfect one was the house she grew up in and spent most of her adult life. So I came up with this: It is a Late Victorian terraced house in North London and is built to minifig scale, using the standard door size as the main reference point which has made the building slightly wider than in reality. The colors are not quite a match, due to the pieces involved and their availabilty dark orange, dark brown and dark grey were chosen. Sand red may have been a better match in places but the price for the quantity used would have pushed the project out of reach. I did display this at the recent Brick 2014 event in London, but was not able to show its interior due to the exterior walls being all dark grey. As the building is much longer than it is wide, I had to abandon the more traditional dolls house opening (think of the Haunted House set) and came up with more modular rooms instead. As it is about 90 x 32 in area, the modular approach made it easier to transport rather than in one whole piece. Here are the interiors which I wasn't able to display: This is the ground floor. All the rooms are connected using technic bricks and pins to hold it together. The part with the small flat roof is the kitchen, shown here: Now I am adding the top floor rooms. till I get this and finally add the roof and garden I don't think it turned out too bad, plus my mother loved it which was the idea. Check out my Flickr album for more views of the rooms: https://www.flickr.c...57650785893649/

How Many 2x4 Bricks in a Pick a Brick Pot?
CamelBoy68 replied to Bricksnaps's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I always use the PAB large for 2x4s for my builds, for me I think they work out cheaper than BL. I'm UK based so primarily I tend to buy from UK sellers and in this instance I select "New" rather than used. My last big build needed 514 bricks and using today's availability I notice that there are 69 sellers with 961 bricks between them, with the prices ranging from 0.04 to 0.19. One thing to bear in mind is the cost of delivery from BL sellers, so with that in mind I only selected the highest quantities which reduced the number of orders to 8. The 514 bricks on BL would cost £71.78 (without shipping), which is 0.13965 / brick Using the PAB method http://www.fbtb.net/...php?f=15&t=1882 here I can get 142 2x4s in a large cup. You can find others that get over 160, but the cup will not close without lots of tape. In the UK a large cup is £11.99, which works out to 0.084437 / brick. The 514 bricks costs £47.96, which is 4 large cups (its actually 3.6 cups). Of course the PAB walls only have limited colors compared to BL. -
