  1. Hi , I got thinking the other day, how much better models/mocs would be with more realistic engines, so I was thinking why not post a whole topic of different engines , for example, Marine engines, diesel engines , aeroplane engines, petrol engines, high performance etc.. -Dan
  2. Imho I think it was based on a baja style ford/chevy truck hence the weird looking front
  3. Am I the only person interested in seeing what the B model is ?
  4. Im currently using this design, but I have modified it a fair bit as I'm using a lockable diff I will ty to take some photos of what I have so far

  7. Now today I was just testing some ideas {of which didnt work very well } but anyway my main goal is to have a strong yet realistic front axle for my W.I.P 4x4 , so I guess the question is , has anyone come up with a good realistic front axle for a 4x4 ? Thanks in advance -Dan
  8. If the model was heavy enough you could use a friction clutch .. or a torque converter type mechanism ... I may have a solution of my own .. I'll post some phot os as soon as I can of my possible solution
  9. Thank-you all , I am currently trying a few ideas , including some of the ones mentioned above
  10. Hello , I believe I'm among many technic builders that are having trouble with universal joints snapping and/or breaking , hase anyone found a reasonable solution to this problem ? Cheers-Dan
  11. Hello , I have made a realistic 4x4 chassis with lockable front and rear diffs but not limeted slip, although 88high has a video of a limeted slip diff on his youtube account hope this helps - Dan

  13. thank-you, I only have one problem ... I only have a XL motor .. or a few M motors ?
  14. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has done a rather fast RC car WITHOUT the use of an RC buggy motor or the new servo motor ? --Cheers , -Dan
  15. Thank you both , I was thinking something like this mechanism ,with piterx's 3+R gearbox , I'm currently experimenting with these two ideas
  16. Hi guys , sorry to double post this but does anyone know of any reliable RC gearboxes with more than 2 speeds ?
  17. Hello , Recently I have reallised there is a lack of strong reliable RC gearboxes, so I guess the point of this thread is to share ideas of strong RC gearboxes that have more than 2 speeds , Cheers - Dan
  18. I don't believe this chassis should need anti-roll bars mainly because it is a 4x4 and that would take away from the total amount of flex I have to admit .. I kinda wanna build a hotrod just to test that steering setup :P
  19. FANTASTIC idea guys , I'll have to see if I can purchase one or a set with one in it :D thanks heaps , well so far the chassis has Front and rear lockable diffs RC 3+R gearbox Realistic leaf spring suspension with caster angle on the front axle Now is there anything else any of you guys could suggest to add to the chassis ?
  20. Thanks , I think I will forget about the clutch it will be too much hassle just for a small bit of realism :) thanks I have come up with a partial solution , I have decided to use a link connected to a 4 long ( x o o x ) piece which is connected to a few sets of gears , this has only partialy solved the problem though
  21. thank-you very much , but do you think there would be a way to turn any or them into automatic clutches A.K.A centrifugal clutches ? , maybe I should forget about the clutch idea :P
  22. I would prefer a friction clutch , although I could finish the model without the clutch I just believe it would add that slight bit of realism :P
  23. Hello and thank-you , would you have a link or any pictures of it by any chance ?
  24. Thankyou Nicjasno , I have been admiring your work for some time now, do you think the "flimsiness" could be fixed somehow ? ,the only reason I am bothering with the pitman arm style is simply for realism as the chassis is for a Toyota landcruiser ute
