Thanks. I did have all the bricks in my collection, but had to scavenge parts from some display models, such as the wrecker (8285). It does take a lot of 2x3, 1x2, and 1x4 plates, but you can optimize the built quite a lot while building. Unfortunately I didn't do that.

Thanks, but just to be clear. This is only a "MOD" - I have only made the soft top... and rust. The rest is completely stock, as in "Buy it from S@H for a bargain of a price with those colors" Yep. That transformation only takes about half an hour I believe the frame of the model is more solid than on the actual car! The info display is pretty pointless, I know... but I didn't really realize that until it was built. At least it earned me a title! For the next MOC I will try to be funny intentionally.

Did you cut a 4L lightsabre blade in half in order to do this? Just for inspiration. Here is how LEGO did it back in 1994: (remove the outer wheels and it is 8 wide)

It is great to see that mosaics are still alive. Any chance we could see the original picture so that we can compare it to the bricks? What program, if any, did you use to render it? BTW. Welcome to EB Buttons. It is also costly for Brickshelf because of the added bandwidth.

I see them as the backbone of society. It is the guys from Futuron who make sure you got power for that radar dish, have supplies and only they will attempt to haul stuff around in the galaxy full of Spyrius, UFO and Blacktron. I will post a new Futuron moonbase module, hopefully in this weekend, and with a teaser for another to clear up my view of the theme. And to answer the original post. The full coloring of the legs and arms does not flow well with the torso printing. I see your idea, but I wouldn't use it as is. I would rather start slow with the crotch-section in the alternate colors.

I got mine for free by scavenging some other models lying around - It is only hard for the psyche! Regarding the windscreen. I always found this to be the weak part of the design. It seemed a bit too low and the lines didn't flow with the wedges IMO. Compare it to the real thing:

The Beetle has a lot of fine details inside, and with the drop-top version being almost as iconic as the car itself, I just had to make this MOD: Everything still works, but you can't close the top (I have only built the cover) The wind screen has been made more accurate, being taller and with frames for the small windows in the sides. It has been some time since I built the original model, so it has begun to rust in the corners. Some additional shot can be found inside the BrickShelf gallery. And here is a review of the original model (in slightly different colors). Set number: 10187 Price: $120 (999kr. in Denmark ~ $200) Ages: 16+ Pieces: 1626 Theme: Creator No box or rant about the colors or materials this time. The model is built using the bricks in the colors I had available. I only have the wheel arches in black and red, but far from enough red bricks to complete the model, so black it is! The real model is dark- and light blue. Building Just as with the 4955 Big Rig, the bottom consists of plates and Technic bricks. You will quickly notice the lack of steering. The front is the first part to be constructed. This is how the head lights are angled The model is turned 180 degrees and the interior, engine and rear end is sculpted. The roof, doors, bonnet and engine cover (or is a bonnet only referring to the engine cover as well?) are built separately and the build is finished quickly and easily. It is really easy to build using the instructions because of the new highlights of bricks to add. Details This model is filled with details (as long as you don't look at it from below) (The glove compartment opens) There are stickers for the license plates, Volkswagen decal, gauges and a display with info about the model. It doesn't make much sense to build this without the sticker. Conclusion 9/10 This model is almost too nice to be labeled as Creator. It really deserves to be in the old sculptures line. The price is fine, and you don't feel any heavy licensing fees. There are some negative points in the lack of a working steering mechanism and the frame for the front windscreen is a little too blocky compared to the rest of the model. The many details and nicely shaped curves makes this model a must-have for the true collector. Brickshelf gallery

Nor in Denmark! You could buy this set for almost half price in Skærbæk yesterday, but after studying the box, I couldn't get myself to purchase this <insert that tiresome argument> Technic-based vehicle. It would be fun to make it into a MM magnetizer, but I still thought it was overpriced!

And it was finally finished! You have not only succeeded in creating a really good replica of the old machine of war, but you did it (as far as I can tell) without using illegal building techniques! Kudos for that. Now. If only you could find some "Technic Disc 3 x 3 with Axlehole" for the tracks (the closest color they are made in is dark gray)

Thanks! And may this day mark my return to productivity on EB. Expect: 2 scale castles Videos of GBC modules (coverage of the LEGO Fan Weekend) a new coupling system and 2 new Model Team trucks a weird/Lasseistic building for an event Beetle Cabrio Cool Convertible MOC and much, much more... all before Christmas... I hope BTW. There was no LEGO for me today, so I had to create something myself. An explanation will follow after this weekend - Jelly harvesting with Futuron on! (As I said. An explanation will follow!)

Q's & A's on instructions, tutorials, scans, book reviews
Lasse D replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
And I gave you the info about 7733 as well - all my plans are failing! There will always be another Skywalker ... -containing set with an error that can lure you by your curiosity -
There is also a positive side to this - think of all the space we safe, us who have been turned off because of this abuse I hope the price of the set will be found to be more than 500Kr, then at least Vestas has to pay tax for it. Who is up for a Siemens Windmill community build?

Q's & A's on instructions, tutorials, scans, book reviews
Lasse D replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks to Shimon: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...c=21416&hl= Now take a look at how the guns are hanging on the first floor: The slopes below are actually overlapping the weapons and you have to angle them in order to make them fit. This is a strange error, given that the set has been built lots of times during the production phase. Perhaps the design of the guns was changed afterward, just like the grille on the 7733 forklift roof? -

If you have the Sandcrawler, you just got to have Death Star! The suspense has to be killing you. Are you really sure about not wanting to have the DS? Anything can happen at a day like tomorrow, right? The DS has an error as well all right. That was quite easy to guess. It is, however, of a different kind. -

If it's of any consultation, I did the exact same thing. You should look forward to the new Death Star and the riffles on first floor -
Skærbæk Event 2008, Denmark - 26th - 28th of September
Lasse D replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
See you there then. I will add a little to both Moonbase and GBC this year. After two weeks of work, the end-caps of my second-last module are finally complete! -
And I thought you could restrict yourself to mastering M-Tron I have something similar in the planning with drones like that, but it will be in another theme. It is refreshing to see a new Blacktron II vehicle. I really like the detail of the cockpit with the hinged controls in the sides You have to make it longer though, or can you find a better way to show more drone versions?

The different prices on LEGO in the US vs. Europe
Lasse D replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If that was the case, LEGO should be free in England and Russia! It's all about supply and demand, and as mentioned, this is the same for all products. -
Thanks, and here is a rear shot: When I said there were a lot of great MODs and MOCs out there (so I had to improve ), I wasn't kidding: MarkChan This one has a great way to make the sides of the cockpit, and smooth curves on the front. 8 wide. 1816 Here is a MOD with an alternate color scheme, wheels and just a little more detail. 1816 again 8 wide MOC with gadgets and sculpted paintwork. 1816 again, again Now 10 wide with added flaring for smoother lines (compared with the one above) bsegal Maxifig version! cjdoyle MOD. The mirror seems to be one of the mostly missed details of the official set. 1816 ^^ Pocket racer version! Why does LEGO repeat the designs of the racers when they could do something like this!? mikepsiaki 7-8 wide MOC with a lot of odd angled pieces This guy even sculpted the paintwork as well!

Thanks, but I can see my contribution is falling short in the forest of Mach 5 remakes (see brickshelf). The nose is a bit too long and not rounded enough, and the engine is terrible. Edit The moderation came through with the latest version. A new nose with a longer "M" and an engine with more details The cockpit and rear end stays unchanged But the shape, seen from the front, is now more accurate The new engine I have counted the parts from the official Mach 5: 115 (+ driver). This Mach 5 has 216 (+ driver)

I just watched... now I want to sue you.

See post 4 for new version. Let me start out with a small disclaimer. I have not seen the movie, nor the anime series. I simply like the sets (apart from the tragic truck). We have already seen great MODs of the Mach 5, such as the one from Brainbox where he included some gimmicks from the movie. I'm going in a different direction. One of my favorite styles is 7 studs wide race cars, so here's my Mach 5 (limited Lasse edition): The M on the front can't be made of stickers, but it is such an important part of the design, that I had to include it - the same goes for the round markers on the sides. Without any idea of what the engine looks like, I included an 8 cylinder boxer engine. Or rather, to piss off one of my reviewers at MOCpages: a V8 boxer engine: I have taken some parts from the official set in order to build this version, so I had to open a MISB Gran Prix for this comparison - now it has to be built later today (great excuse, eh?) The official Mach 5 is clearly larger and more solid. My Mach 5 has unstable 1 stud connections, many weird angles and illegal stud connections, but I prefer the lower and slimmer seating positions - the wind screen is actually at eye level now! Brickshelf gallery with even more pictures. Go up a couple of times for my other race cars

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Lasse D replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Whoa Green Hair! You have to make sure it's easy to see the hull once it is displayed - because that's just a pure sea of win! It suddenly makes a lot more sense that you built it upside down. Keep up the god work! -
Look at it on the bright side Holodoc - at least you didn't break an arm Damn. When so many bad things happen on a trip, they will be the things you remember. As BerndDasBrot asks: Didn't they display your stuff shielded off? You can (re?)watch the "10.000st shoplifter" video to cheer up a little.
