  1. With all this going on, I'm going to get it and give it a makeover. I have done something similar in the past.
  2. One picture explains it all for mine:
  3. Wow. It turns out that your PM request gave a much better result than the thread!
  4. That is a ridiculously cool figure! Not only did you include the dreadlocks, blades and shoulder laser, but you did it without apparently stretching the bricks! (a rare sight in awesome small creations these days)
  5. @ KZ2 I have it and it was actually quite an entertaining game. I played it on medium level as I'm not into that type of games usually, but it turned out quite well with a solid campaign. It sure is pretty with all the wind, explosions and landscapes. There are some tricks to the game, but you will learn them as you go along.
  6. I'm weird in this way that I keep all the small funny stuff that I have gathered through some time in a big body of LEGO while the small ideas usually end up as complete MOCs. That is actually my tablescraps.
  7. Working on some moonbase. This little module is called "the woodlouse" and is going to feature a NXT for functionality. Right now it's on a table getting ready to be put together and programmed. I hope it gives some inspiration.
  8. I bought a Wii at release, bought a lot of classic games, got tired of it and gave it away after finally realizing that I always ended up playing PS2 instead: Equal graphics, no battery fiddling, better games and easier to use. The PS3 is a real bargain IMO. If you want a good BluRay 2.0 player, it will cost you at least 2/3 of a PS3. Free on-line is a bonus and the on-line experience is finally beginning to match the competitor, removing the final doubt I had against that console. Now I just need some time to play on the damn thing.
  9. It is always hard to make complex and small mechs like tachikomas. I really like how you have given them their civilian paint jobs. Sure the should have been larger (large enough to fit a minifig in the rear). Any plans on adding a Jefferson and make some scenes from "Tachikoma Days"?
  10. Update. I had completed a new creation and had to move some stuff around in order to free up some space. The truck was placed on top of its trailer on top of the oven on top of the microwave on top of the fridge. The steering was turned, but I found it to be stable and went on to move some boxes. Crash! Parts were scattering around my feet as the Scania had fallen to the floor. Here are the parts I was able to find. Some parts still missing. Rebuilding such a creation isn't easy.
  11. As you can read from the replies, an xL-motor can snap the joint, but gear it up using a 2:1 gearing or higher and you are safe. The Motor doesn't loose much torque and should be strong enough to pull a 1kg model acceptably fast.
  12. Thanks for the comments. I'm building the trailer as we speak, but there's a long way again. You should see my Octan truck then. That should make you feel better If it's any help, I envy your Technic collection, especially that you can have the models assembled and in a good condition. Yep. Hence "The trailer is being rebuilt as well". I am planning on making building instructions for the frame, but I'm sure you can copy it without. It is a great foundation and you can always add blue pins if it gets too heavy. Perhaps I should give this a try. For the SCANIA brick I have a friend who engraves bricks in this size. I used rubber bands in the early prototype (the ones where gears got bend). They turned out to be useless for this because they slipping gradually. The blue pins only let go once a certain force is applied, which makes a great difference here. There is a trick to this as well. I have a smoke 1x2x2 panel behind the windows which is barely visible. It makes the grilles grip firmly and the lower grills are places a bit further forward than the top ones in order to make them grip. This is why the grilles in the sides can stay there without studs at all. ... and this took me more than an hour to figure out
  13. Thank you for the comments. Finally I made a decent cab-over design > Freddie As you can see in the video, steering is favored, but there is a trick to it. The small 8-cog next to the white friction wheel is mounted on a pin with friction . This system has evolved from the first Coke truck prototype where I had the friction in the gear changer resulting in the truck jumping out of gears occasionally: The first prototype broke the pieces instead
  14. You have some great detailing in this model. So great that I didn't think it was functional when I saw the first picture, but you sure proved me wrong. Have you really achieved stability with so many SNOT-parts in such a small model? Incredible!
  15. Children who want to impress each other. They find the best aircrafts on the net, copy the pictures and say they made them. The other children don't know what is going on and give a lot of praise. Praise leads to wanting for more and on we go. Add prices to these challenges and it's inevitable. You should feel flattered... if it wasn't for the children claiming your models to be theirs BTW. I just took a look through some pages there. What a terrible site! Huge flash animations and the actual content moved to the bottom Launch Adblock+!
  16. 2005 Scania R340 Topline in scale 1:25. The Power Functions elements take up the space for the sleeping cabin and engine, but apart from that, the details are as close as I could get them to the real truck. Click the image for the video on Youtube. Open the door and step inside. The coupling works when the steering blocks. The red frame is a copy showing the details. Compare with the real thing. Now I just need an engraved "Scania" 1x4 brick. The truck was displayed at LEGO World in Copenhagen earlier this year where I had a display that demonstrated the functions, including the ones in the trailer as seen in the video. Unfortunately it got damaged during transport (I drive like shit) and I couldn't make it work again. The truck has been changed since the event, incorporating some changes suggested by some people who drive it for a living. The trailer is being rebuilt as well. Also posted on MOCPages
  17. Why would you add a petition you already have an ambassador on the case? It's an old issue, but I suppose it shouldn't be too difficult to implement a report function.
  18. Use deduction. The engine dictates certain properties for the design on the car, and which team does Toyota share engines with? The diffusers are clearly bending the rules in ways they weren't meant, but they sure make an interesting season.
  19. I guess that is what happens to most who see the pictures. In fact. I posted the ship in another forum and a whole week went by without a single person even commenting on it! > Green Hair Thanks. That's a good idea. I hope to get some brown pieces soon so that I can try it out.
  20. Just watched the last episode now. It is the kind of episode you would make to end a show: A lot of unanswered questions (when, who, what, WHAT!?) attempt to tie up some loose ends (Aerial Hunter), and stuff that doesn't make sense (ell). It will be interesting to see if the movie will carry on with some of the elements from the series.
  21. Thanks for the feedback. The cabin is a result of those windows being my only ones with the classic glass and a lack of black arches. Do the gray and white bars look natural, or should I explain that they are supposed to be folded sails? It is not easy to find stuff which is good to transport balls and be natural on a pirate ship at the same time.
  22. 81a Not counting ships made at events, this is my first real pirate ship. It has a lot of details from official LEGO ships through time, while trying to have some original ideas as well. Let's start out with a video (click the picture to see the video): Here are some pictures of the details. Click to enlarge. Monsters! They be takin our balls! Brickshelf Gallery
  23. I was walking around this Saturday and suddenly I saw this group of people discussing the train on display. I found my camera and captured some of the details and functions: It was without PF-components, but you can hear a man in the background talking about how they fit in.
  24. I finally saw the race. What an ending by the drivers I cheer for! 14 points in the first race! Finally. After so many years, it's finally beginning to look brighter than 2005. A shame I'm in LEGOLAND today when the qualifying is on.
  25. A video? The harvester moves forward and bricks are dropped... sometimes more than one brick at a time if you use 2x3's.
