There is a running joke in LEGO because of some (unnamed) employee's coffee addiction. This is supposedly one of the reasons why you often see coffee machines in LEGO sets. We all know LEGO is the largest producer of tires, but I bet the coffee machine count is right up there as well. I will use this thread to create an extensive list of LEGO coffee machines. Please discuss and add sets in your comments. (I don't visit this forum as often as I would like to, but will try to update this list whenever I am here.) Great work. I really like how you manage to add small details to the surface, such as jumped surfaces (half stud offsets), a clean color scheme and functionality. Even a fragile crane is better than a stationary one because of the posability. I bet you even have a nice interior as well (I'm such a n00b at browsing flickr). It is clear that you have crammed in everything needed for full functionality of the front scoop while still keeping the right dimensions. But. The many holes in the front arms makes it look like a different style than the rest of the creation. It stands out as Technic rather than Model Team, breaking the flow just a bit. ' BTW. The center and rear part of the backhoe as well as the rear shot of the truck: Absolutely drool worthy! 1:22 > 1:13

Harvester Idea Book 8888.
Lasse D replied to xikin's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's all nice and good, but I think OP would be happy if someone else had made this harvester and would like to share a couple of construction photos (for example without the wheels). -
See the posts above yours. The modules follow the GBC standard most of the way (a couple of exceptions in Martin's modules) because we use the lenient standard where modules aren't required to stand on 32x32 base plates. The base plate restriction makes it impossible to let the modules snake or turn left, so we prefer this way outside of USA.

Thanks guys. Here is an additional rear shot. > Ricecracker It has been about a year since last time I presented a truck. I would call that slow. This truck alone took 2 months to build. > mahjqa Cheers > dolittle The problem with instructions is that they still take a lot of time to make, and I mostly receive negative feedback from them. I prefer to value looks over durability, so I get a lot of complaints about stability (and even more of "where can I buy parts?"). It typically takes me about a year to finish building instructions for a small truck because I only build virtually during travel. > Fuzzylegobricks More than the one?

See last post for latest version This is a MAN TGS 8x4 in classic Model Team scale 1:25. Video on youtube: It is remotely controlled using Power Functions. The drum turns independent of everything else. There are PF lights both in the front and back, so a lot of wires had to be hidden: The doors can open, slide be turned and the seats are adjustable. The battery box can be replaced by a white canister for display/GBC mode. The original: Brickshelf folder with more pictures.

Lego Technic Clones
Lasse D replied to imajor's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I just checked that they didn't just use the original LEGO picture of this set (8273 off road truck): Original LEGO art: http://p6.hostingprod.com/@southernseller.com/8273frtbetsmlr.jpg -
Although. Is it always good to be literal? How about building an Aston Martin Vanquish, vagrant? And how would you interpret a Toyota FunCargo?

The set is great and the truck with trailer was as long as I was tall when I got it. I do, however, have two complaints about the set. The first is that removing the tires for the secondary model is nearly impossible for a small child. The second is the lack of details in the truck. Where is the engine? It is steered from behind the cab, so you would assume that they could add an engine line in all other Model Team trucks.

Ice Nine

Great little thing, and equally good presentation. Does it have self-centering steering? -
Technic "Themes"
Lasse D replied to OrangeKNight's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
When you say themes, I start thinking of the Arctic theme that Technic had many years ago. It was really refreshing to see a group of models from a specific theme all working together, so I totally agree. A mining sub-theme would be great. -
If asked nicely, some of our residential cube dude experts might be able to build the doctors in LEGO. This way you don't have to "cheat on Lego" There are lots of Tardises and Darleks on brickshelf and MOCPages, and what else would you really want from Dr. Who? (apart from K9, Cybermen and other non-main characters)

I will be there all days. We will try to make the largest GBC layout ever.

Instructions, old and new
Lasse D replied to eMHa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You would think that the new instructions with down to 1 part pr. step are easier to follow, but I find myself spending an awful lot of time changing pages. But one must also remember that LEGO didn't have computers in the old day. Steps were drawn manually. Still: -
>The creator It looks great, and I have not seen those parts being used as leaf springs before. Good job on figuring that out. But. Using 8 tooth gears driven by worm gears to power the axes puts a lot of strain on the small gears. You lose a lot of power and can end up breaking the gears when stress testing. BTW. Why do lugpol members often put lugpol logos on their own creations? Do you build most models collaboratively, is it a rule or have you simply been recommended to advertise for your lug like that?

You are right regarding that Executor. It has been due for an overhaul for quite some time (8 years!). Add it to the long list of projects that I need to find time for There are a lot of pictures in the first post. If you can figure out how to recreate the frame and get the gist of the design of the wings, then you should be well under way to duplicate it. The greebles of the city is actually the easiest part, where you can let yourself loose and just build. Try to build the engine bank last, as its design will rely on how you angle the wings. 10030 does not only give you parts, it also provides you with great building techniques. Just remember (everyone) to give proper credits when publishing

Excellent. Just excellent. I have tried to build Wipeout racers without near the same success. This is really faithful to the original. But one thing could make it even more awesome. Could you make it dispense mines?

It's a cute little butterfly car. But I fail to see the connection to a Volkswagen beetle.

REVIEW: 8450 The Mission
Lasse D replied to LordGalewind's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The pictures seem to have disappeared from the Brickshelf folder. The folder still exist, but it is empty. I really want to see the pics -
Nice little car, Brickster. But I challenge you! (insert evil laughter) Can you make the top of the grille flush with the tiles on the hood, so it has a completely flat surface?
-
Bumping an old thread with an excellent creations. It seems like the magnet-solution from 10030 really turned out well for stability and ease-of build. Was it hard to make all the large components come together? Try searching your favourite search engine for "executor instructions", "lego executor" or similar. You will find what you are searching for.

This contest has sure garnered a lot of attention. But am I the only one who sees a problem with gay rights vs "1. Only men are allowed to compete, no women will be allowed to enter the contest." Eurobricks is annoyingly PC when it comes to "Happy Holidays" and similar, so this just strikes me as odd.
