Updated: [MOC/CUUSOO] Star Wars Combineable Battlepacks
Fighter of Frizzies replied to samiam391's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Love it; iconic scene, great display piece, inexpensive way to get army builders (provided it gets made). Would definitely buy! -
Without any knowledge of the "trader" this might be pretty good, a more civilian-y CMF like Sleepyhead or the Computer Programmer. I don't know what it says about me that this was the first thing I thought of when I read your description: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Gentleman_%28Trainer_class%29

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Fingers still crossed the Rancor is a brick-build but if its sculpted I won't raise hell. Just want that Rancor! I'm curious if this speculated pit would fit under the throne room only, otherwise the tower would have to be set all by its lonesome. -

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52683&view=findpost&p=1088321 Picked up a bunch of extra Series 7 figures, looking for 3 more (would prefer to nab them in one purchase but I won't be too picky). -

'nother question. Since I've been looking closely at set weight in relationship to price, what is a fair, average measure of price to weight similar to the $0.10 per piece rule most collectors use to determine value? -

I know that Lego cannot sell mini figures individually due to contracts with Hasbro. Is there a minimum number of pieces per minifigure that is required in each set that makes sure this is not violated? For example, if Lego wanted to do a polybag with a minifigure, would it be required to have at least 30 pieces so that it meets the qualifications of a "building set"? -
Not a bad list Faefrost. I'd like to add the Lars Family Speeder to that. Having that in a set with the entrance dome and an updated Skyhopper would be pretty swell if perhaps a tad dull for most KFOLs. Speaking of that, some of the bigger OT ships you mentioned could suffer from lack of playability or recognizability which might make it difficult for Lego to justify producing them (given that they would probably be large, pricey sets). i.e. there are tons of people who would pay for an AT-AT or Falcon but a Medical Frigate at the same price may not command as much demand. Though I'd still buy them if they made them. Given your list, I just have a feeling that a lot of future OT sets will be re-dos or playsets.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Speaking of the capes, I was curious about something. The Collectible Graduate figure (this guy http://www.eurobricks.com/staff/whitefang/8805review/33.jpg ) came with a robe piece that I had wondered if it was ever going to be used for any SW minifigures. If it was ever proposed for this set I can understand why the desingers would have still gone with the capes. The capes would give more versatility as I imagine including the robe piece instead of the cape would have meant brown arms and torsos with the undertorso print i.e. they would look odd without the robe while they look fine without the cape. But I did not know if that was anything any of you felt Lego should include in any further sets. If anything, I would love to see that piece be used as Han's Endor trenchcoat. -
I'd love a concept design Lego, McQuarrie or otherwise, even if I don't feel like it is something Lego would find suitable for the main line i.e. would have to be a low-run exclusive to get the hard core fan dollars. That X-Wing looks good but is probably too similar to the final model to attract much interest.

LEGO Team GB Minifigures Discussion

Should this series give me hope that Lego could offer more series centered around a specific theme? This may exclude the possibility of a series based around a licensed property due to licensing costs and conflicts with action figure manufacturers. Though I don't know how much of this would just be speculation/wishful thinking without any hints straight from Lego. -

Looking at Brickset, the Malevolence is 1.66 kg while Jabba's Palace is 1.8 kg. Despite the awful price/part ratio, could the price/weight ratio make the price tag seem less terrible? Not that I won't be waiting for a sale mind you. -
Pictorial Review of Summer 2012 Star Wars Sets:
Fighter of Frizzies replied to Sir von Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It seems like minifigures have become a set's side dish rather than its seasoning. My guess is sets that would be appropriate for certain minifigures (in this case, Theed Palace or Yavin Base) are just not do-able for any number of reasons (maybe Lego would rather focus on vehicles and those playsets do not have enough "conflict" or interest that would appeal to both kids and AFOLs). At least this way we don't miss out on a Leia for the Celebration Luke and Han nor do we miss out on the Red Dress Amidala (somewhat iconic given its prominence in Ep 1 merchandise). But that's just speculating.... Also, sets look great. Only interested in Skiff and Palace, but still, very good. Since the Palace price has been a big point of contention, I'm curious if it seems like the set is mostly made up on large, blocky pieces (rather than plates) that may explain some of the pricing. I know a lot probably comes from the specialty minifigure pieces but I still like to think this set isn't too big of a rip-off. -

I don't know if this violates the "no talking about price" rule (if so, a mod can move this) but when you build the Malevolence and Jabba's Palace I'm curious if they are more equal, not in piece number but in total set weight. I only have pictures to look at but Jabba's Palace seems to contain a lot of large bricks, less plates. I know much of the cost is related to the specialty pieces but I'm still hoping that it isn't as big a rip-off as lot of us think. -
I agree with BD's comment about the tail, I don't know if fixing it will make the whole of the body less boxy (but possibly less sturdy). But quibbles, quibbles, this is an amazing model. I have hoped that Lego would give us a brick-built Rancor and your model proves how great it can look.

Is the first good shot we have had of the front of Jabba's Palace? It looks very well done, enough to make me regret that this set will likely be displayed to showcase the inside. -
I am always quite tickled by the colors that Lego can sneak in the inside of sets. Despite any nits, this is a very lovely looking piece. I hope I still have room/cash to pick it up once I'm through picking up the main line.

Monster Fighters 2012
Fighter of Frizzies replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
For anyone speculating how the line could continue, would a cryptozoology theme be a good idea? (if a departure from the current aesthetic) Though before I get ahead of myself, I am very excited to pick up a few of these sets. Some of the car designs are a bit wonky, but I won't make any final judgements until I can get a better look at them sans flick-fire missles. -

Do you prefer Battle Packs to have 1 or 2 factions?
Fighter of Frizzies replied to madoka's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Two factions are not a big problem for me but if I had to choose, definitely one faction. Unilateral army building is the way to go. -
Single Pane LEGO Licensed Theme Funnies
Fighter of Frizzies replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Licensed
That Harry Potter one got me to thinking.... Lego really should have released a small $10-15 set (of anything, don't care what) with four minifigures, a character from each house (e.g. Dean Thomas, Pansy Parkinson, Cho Chang, Susan Bones). Akin to the army builder sets in the SW line as it would let AFOLs load up on house torsos. Obviously it is far too late but just a thought.
