  1. We're going to take the same stance we did regarding potential spoilers as we did for The Force Awakens: this is a rumors topic; it concerns future products, so inevitably it'll involve discussion of future movies and other publications. We certainly encourage members to be considerate and use the spoiler tags when necessary, but we won't enforce use of the spoiler tag nor will there be any separate topics. You read this topic at your own risk. Edit: Added to the first post.
  2. All done. The DSII tag is awarded "for consistent positive contributions to the Star Wars forum." There's a description of most of our SW tags here.
  3. EB's Star Wars building RPG has entered its eleventh episode! Join the Empire as they set a trap for the Rebel scum or join the Alliance in their quest for the plans to the Second Death Star.
  4. I was grinning practically the entire time. Is this a spoiler-free topic? I'll be safe and just limit my comments to "Rey was awesome." As in, the only way I would've liked her character more is if she was Mara Jade. I was pretty similar to the original, but deep down that's what I wanted. I liked the crude lightsaber duels. They definitely can't compare to Duel of the Fates or Battle of the Heroes, but they echoed the fact that none of the combatants were fully trained.
  5. I don't think it'd be that useful, honestly. There aren't many UCS sets released each year, and because they're exclusive to certain retailers, we don't get a lot of reliable rumors about them, so the majority of the discussion about them always ends up being speculation, not new info. That also means there usually won't be anything new to discuss in such a topic, but if past rumor topics are any indication, some members will continue to post in it just because it's there. And as with all proposals to split major topics, where do we draw the line? We don't want to end up with a bunch of rumor topics, because that'd be confusing to new members, it'd take space away from other topics on the first page of the forum, and it'd be a pain for both staff and members to keep all the discussion properly split up.When we get any reliable new information (with the exception of what TLG has requested we avoid sharing, of course), a member of the staff will update the first post of this topic, and we'll edit the tag to reflect the last date the first post has been modified. It's still not specific to UCS sets, but it's just information and no speculation.
  6. Offering to PM pictures is just as bad as requesting pictures PM'ed to you. CopMike has already told everybody not to use EB's PM system to spread leaked and pictures. All of you, what you do on other sites and how well you use Google is none of our business, but do not use EB to share leaked pictures. Well, ostensibly that's this topic, seeing as EB is an AFOL site...
  7. It's not misleading. This is a rumor topic. It's for discussing rumors in. There're just some rumors which we have been asked not to share or discuss at this time. If there are no rumors which you are allowed to discuss at the time (or you don't want to discuss the few that are allowed), that doesn't mean that the topic's purpose changes; it just means there's less reason for you to post in it.
  8. The existence of a topic does not mean that you are obligated to post in it, nor does it mean that you may discuss its subject however you like. We've had plenty of limitations on what you may post in a rumors topic in the past; this is just a farther-reaching restriction than before. Then we will remove from your posts any information which TLG has requested not be shared, and we will have a chat with you if you persist. Make no mistake; we're not going to punish anyone for accidentally letting something slip or for discussing something in a grey area which TLG later requests we avoid, but blatantly ignoring the rules of this topic or of EB will not be tolerated.
  9. I agree that, like all things leaked to the Internet, this will never be completely contained and people will always find another site to share and discuss the leaks. That doesn't make it okay for us to ignore TLG's requests. (I'm trying to word that sentence in a way that doesn't make me sound like I'm lecturing a child -- please don't interpret it that way!)Speaking as an AFOL and not as a member of the EB staff, if other members decide to leave and go to another site because they're unhappy that we're respecting the request for help from the company which we're enormous fans of and which has done so much for its adult fanbase in the past several years, then fine; I'm not exactly concerned if those members go elsewhere. I understand that it's frustrating to have this discussion cracked down upon, especially since we've enjoyed plenty of leaked set lists and the like in the past with comparatively little intervention by TLG, but we're not entitled to any early information. To me, it doesn't sound like other discussion is prohibited, but if you're unsure, I'd err on the side of caution. If TLG asks us to stop discussion of the minifigs, then we will. (Not that we'd penalize you for discussing something in a grey area like that.)
  10. All tags awarded. Sorry for the wait.
  11. I've been out of the loop for a while. I don't know anything you guys don't; I just know this is usually the time that TLG unveils a set for next year. deskp tells me they might only show off the constraction set, though, which wouldn't even belong in this thread. I guess we'll see.
  12. Star Wars reveal is set for Saturday, according to TLG's Twitter. (larger image) Since there's really nothing to discuss that wouldn't be speculation, I'll leave this locked for now. This topic will (should...) automatically unlock at the start of SDCC, 9:30AM PDT on Thursday.
  13. This thread collects everything we know about 2016 LEGO Star Wars sets; discuss them sets here! Please read before posting: Stay on target topic. Remember that this topic is for discussing sets that are rumored to come in 2016. If it's something you wish to see or something you think that we'll see sometime in the future, but not something that's actually rumored to be a 2016 set, then it's pure speculation and it belongs in the Future Star Wars Sets topic. (We also have a topic for minifigs you want to see, which might be more appropriate.) Do not post fabricated information, which could lead to your account being banned. It's not worth the fifteen minutes of Internet fame. Regarding spoilers: this is a rumors topic; it concerns future products, so it'll inevitably involve discussion of future movies or other publications. We encourage you to be considerate and use spoiler tags when necessary, but we won't enforce their use nor will there be any separate rumor topics. You read this topic at your own risk. 14. TLG's Twitter is saying Saturday. Rumored to be multiple sets, though, right? So could be both.
  15. It would be a nightmare for both staff and members to enforce that separation. We already have enough trouble trying to keep the separation between the Rumors and Future Sets without having it split into "Ep. VII" and "Not Ep. VII" topics. And if you split the Rumors topic, then you have to split the Future Sets topic, and you have to split the Minifig Wishlist topic, and you probably have to split the General Questions topic... Plus, then do you split them into "Ep. VII" and "Rebels" and "Not Ep. VII or Rebels" topics? What about in the future as Disney starts releasing more movies? I understand the logic behind splitting the topic up, and I know that keeping it all in one topic isn't perfect, but I think the current setup is the best one.
  16. I mentioned this a few months ago, but I think a reminder would be good: this is a topic about future products; spoilers are to be expected. We're not going to prevent discussion that includes spoilers nor split such discussion off into any separate topics. It would be pretty much impossible to enforce, not to mention really annoying for you guys if staff are constantly stepping in to edit posts or move them around. As long as your discussion concerns sets rumored to be released in 2015 (remember that wishlists and concepts for sets you think we'll see belong in Future Star Wars Sets), it's fine. Spoiler tags are nice, and I recommend using them, but we aren't enforcing use of those, either. Thanks!
  17. I approach Karie. "Ah, Miss Alderflask, I believe I am supposed to leave Master Regulus's items with you." I hand Karie the Unlucky Horseshoe.
  18. Sounds good to me! Will do.
  19. I sign up for Quest#132: The Clans Under the Mountain.
  20. I sign up for Quest #129: Flying the Coop and Quest#131: The Kind Of Law They'd Understand.
  21. I sell my Training Longswords (2), Lieutenant's Sword, Throwing Knife, and Silver Ore for (5*10/2*2 + 6*10/2 + 3*10/2 + 60) = 155 Gold. "Master Fabian, I require some footwear." I purchase a pair of Barbarian's Boots for 50 Gold, leaving me with (209 + 155 - 50) = 314 Gold.
