  1. I'll move this to the forum that's specifically for Brick Flicks... ...and done.
  2. First post updated with all the larger, cleaner box pics from Brickset.
  3. Brickset's also got this one: And Brickset's also got larger, cleaner images of the other boxes.
  4. *Resists urge to abuse Reg powers and make that a poll option.* I know a lot of OT fans love to point out that the OT is the critically-acclaimed classic portion of the Star Wars saga. Well, with that status of being a classic comes the fact that there's always a demand for those iconic sets - X-wing, Falcon, TIE Fighter... I think TLG's done a good job of reintroducing those every now and then to make sure they're almost always available, given that they're probably pretty much always in demand. If you don't like those rereleases, then just don't buy them and save your money for other sets. TLG's introduced plenty of new OT sets for the older fans, and they're not exactly cheap. (as for those who just have to have every single set, well, I'm of the opinion that that's not the point of buying LEGO, but that's just me)
  5. OoC: Great, thanks. I was afraid that we had to defeat the other Tangleweed, too."Nice shot, Master Unth'or. Master Rone, take the Aquaphant again; you can use your Chain Whip, now. Master Emorith, I suggest you heal Master Unth'or. Master Unth'or, take the Shy Shell. I don't want you to target one of the Carp, because you'd be Knocked Out if it used its Special on you." I attack Silver Carp A from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. "That'll leave two Carp to deal Free Hits, I'll absorb the Tangleweed's Free Hit, and Master Rone can avoid any Free Hits." Order of Actions Althior Emorith Xander Unth'or Bartholomew Docken Dyric Rone
  6. OoC: Shouldn't we no longer be Bound?
  7. If we look back at past BPs, 7654 had 102 pieces (all droids, none of the more expensive traditional minifigs), 7655 had 58 pieces, 7667 had 81 pieces, 7668 had 82 pieces, 8014 had 72 pieces, 8015 had 94 pieces (also all droids), 8083 had 79 pieces, 8084 had 74 pieces, 7913 had 85 pieces, 7914 had 68 pieces, 9488 had 98 pieces, and 9489 had 77 pieces. The 124 pieces listed on the box art for 75000 shouldn't be anything to complain about. Yes, you can talk about sizes of pieces and amount of plastic, but I really don't think that this BP is that terrible. Also, while the Droidekas are small, they are definitely bigger than any other droid we've had in a past BP.
  8. Actually I suggested it because I just realized that I'm took the same risk already when I attacked the Tangleweed last Round. I'm also suggesting that Althior give Dyric a Potion instead - it's a more temporary solution, but guaranteed to succeed.
  9. "Yes, let's go with that. I'm capable of killing it, but only with a Hit or higher, while you can kill it with a Aim (Hit), and Master Emorith needs to heal Master Rone. I'll change my action. (in my previous post) "Speaking of which, Master Emorith, if you fail, Master Rone will be Knocked Out by a Free Hit. I don't want to risk that, so can you give him a Potion instead?"
  10. "Actually, if I'm going to be taking a chance attacking a Tangleweed, do we want to go ahead and try to take out Tangleweed B to remove the Bound effect?"
  11. Thanks, KDM, for finally putting into a graph what some of us have been trying to say for the past couple of years: there's already a good balance of sets, and TLG's done a great job of keeping the shelves full of both classic sets and sets from whatever new storyline is being added to Star Wars. Not only were the great CW waves of '08 and '09 comparable to the PT releases for Sith and Clones, but it was the PT subtheme that was left out, not the OT subtheme. That said, I'm an OT fan, and there can never be too many OT sets for me. As has been said above, a lot of the OT sets are repeats which a lot of FOLs won't be buying, but these graphs convey the basic numbers which do show that there is actually a balance of sets favorable to OT fans.
  12. First post is updated with the pictures (and new info they provided) for the main wave. The pictures of the planet sets are prelims stamped 'Confidential', so they have not been added to the first post.
  13. Thanks for the link. The minis look decent, except for the T-47, which looks... flat. (and the cockpit is too small and the nose is too big, but TLG's never gotten that area right) I'm surprised to see TLG using it; I like the SNOT approach to the Delta-7. Even if it looks a little bulky, some of you will remember that I love that building style. The TIE/sa looks a little blocky with those 1x2 bricks in the middle. The original Mini TIE/sa solved that problem much better, with the Technic axle going through an Astrodroid body, prevented from rotating by the prongs of magnet bases on the wings.
  14. OoC: Argh, Legonater, why didn't you switch to your Throwing Knife? Also, Tangleweed B should be Poisoned. "Same basic plan of attack. Master Unth'or, you and I should switch targets to give us a better chance of taking out Tangleweed B and removing the Bound effect. Master Emorith, please heal Master Rone." I attack the Shy Shell from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone Bartholomew Docken
  15. OoC: Oh, I just noticed, Sandy: you have the right Health for the Aquaphant in the calculations, 1128, but an incorrect number in the stats, 1130.
  16. Thanks for the link, Lego-Freak. The AT-RT is terribly oversized. I'm not happy about that, and I never intended to buy the set anyways, but that is the best AT-RT 'head' that TLG has done so far; slight improvement there. Considering the sizes of some other smaller vehicles, I think I'd rather see the oversized AT-RT than the correctly scaled AT-RT that doesn't look like an AT-RT. All the droideka's look ugly. The clone with the olive green highlights looks great, though. I really like the way TLG changed the printing to transform the CW clone into a Clones clone, but they're the only good thing in that set The vehicle/base thing is even uglier than the droideka's. The Headhunter looks decent. Not really much else from me regarding that set. Another (originally) EU set that I won't be buying. I think TLG did a really nice job using the different slopes, wedges and curved elements to flesh out and shape the Umbaran tank. I have no idea how accurate it is, but I think TLG did a good job with it. Those minifigs look like something recycled from a Space theme, though. The two speeders in the BARC Speeder set don't look they've been changed much, just some more printing/stickers and made a bit skinnier with more use of 1-wide slopes/curved bricks in conjunction with jumpers. The leg printing on Obi-Wan looks terrific, but I doubt that it's worth buying the set just for another Obi-Wan minifig. The A-wing looks much better at first glance, but mostly all it's gotten is some printing/stickering. I'm seeing this all over this wave of sets: an emphasis on stickered/printed details. I don't really like it. Old Republic BP... I've never really paid much attention to the game or the era in general, so I have neither a good nor a bad opinion of the set; it just doesn't interest me. The Rancor Pit - right now, it's the only one I think I'll be buying. More Lord of the Rings sets for me.
  17. I really should get into the habit of checking the stats of each Round of battles I'm in. I didn't notice that. And it's a significant decrease, too.
  18. OoC: The Darksteel Crossbow is unsuitable for Dyric, right? "Alright, I'll try to get one of the Tangleweeds Poisoned. Leave the other one alone and I'll absorb the Free Hit; we don't want it to use its Special. Master Rone, the Aquaphant. Master Unth'or, the Shy Shell. Master Emorith, you can either attack a Silver Carp, heal yourself or Master Rone, or give Master Rone a Remedy so that he can use a melee weapon." I attack Tangleweed B from the Back Row with my Mockthril Longbow. Order of Actions Xander Unth'or Dyric Rone Althior Emorith Bartholomew Docken
  19. "Again!" I attack Tangleweed A from the Back Row with my Mockthril Longbow. Order of Actions Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone
  20. "Perfect. I've switched to Tangleweed A and Master Emorith has switched to the Shy Shell, so you can continue to attack Tangleweed B, Master Unth'or."
  21. "Alright, then, Master Unth'or and Master Emorith, would either of you prefer to take the Shy Shell, since I can absorb the Damage of a Tangleweed if I roll Damage? For now, I've switched to the Shy Shell."
  22. "Excellent work! Master Rone, do you want to take the Aquaphant, being Lucky? Otherwise, attack the Shy Shell, and the rest of us shall stick to our previous targets." I attack Tangleweed A from the Back Row with my Mockthril Longbow. "Master Rone, I'll have you go last so that you don't take any Free Hits." Order of Actions Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Althior Emorith Dyric Rone
  23. I'm just saying that this is an RPG with magic in it - if you want to make a small change like this to an item to better balance it, it doesn't have to make perfect sense in-game.
  24. "Not really anything to change." I attack the Aquaphant from the Back Row with my Briar Bow. Order of Actions Bartholomew Docken Xander Unth'or Dyric Rone Althior Emorith
  25. Magic Bedrolls.
