Just host it in the Cathedral of Mercutio.
-
Sorry, Party #1 and Party #3. I really, really would've loved to host either of you, but I did specify in the sign-ups that I wanted a "well-rounded team", and Party #1 was entirely Ranger classes, and Party #3 was a little more balanced, but still had two Knights and wasn't as versatile as Party #2.

You see a figure in black cloak and blue armor slip into the Hall, keeping her head down, and moving towards the Quest Board. "..." Just as quickly, the figure departs, and you see a new paper in place of the sign ups for Quest #112: Chosen Heroes for Quest #112: Party #2 DAMN: Atramor Gibbin, Level 32.75 Regulator (CallMePie) *Party Leader* Dyric Rone, Level 26.33 Assassin (The Legonater) Namyrra Uq, Level 45.8 Archmage (Quarryman) Monk Pretzel, Level 30 Artisan (Palathadric) QM Note: The quest topic will be up soon, hopefully. I was working on it, but it's taken me a while to remove a MegaBlok-ton of unnecessary 'font' and 'color' tags from one of your stats. I figured that I should get this up and give you guys the chance to finish any last minute shopping you might have to do.
-
Not really. It's one Damage dealer and three heroes who should have at least workable defense; that's a lot easier to balance for than the opposite case of lots of low-Level offensive heroes and fewer high-Level tanks.

Current Sign-ups for Quest #112: Party #1: Alexander Vandagant, Level 24.67 Hunter (Wedge09) *Party Leader* Francis Barkley, Level 5 Ranger (Captain Settle) Mizuki Kimura, Level 24 Assassin (zakura) William Harkenshire, Level 19.5 Warden (Fred Daniel Yam) Party #2: Atramor Gibbin, Level 32.75 Regulator (CallMePie) *Party Leader* Dyric Rone, Level 26.33 Assassin (The Legonater) Namyrra Uq, Level 45.8 Archmage (Quarryman) Monk Pretzel, Level 30 Artisan (Palathadric) Party #3: Actaeon Artus, Level 6 Ranger (Actaeon) *Party Leader* Annienal Anavir, Level 5 Knight (Kintobor) Kiray Nastayo, Level 10 Knight (KingoftheZempk) Thalion Dwinlas, Level 29.33 Sorcerer (-obelix-) QM Note: I'll be choosing heroes soon; just wanted to let Party #3 know that I saw you guys sign up.

It could also be from Clones though; the Azure Angel is the one that's definitely originating from the old CW series, so that's what I opted to use as the best example of an old CW set in this wave for my reply to legofreak86. Yeah, part of the Disney shutdown of the EU was that they decided that no one should continue making toys from the non-canon stuff. If you were working on it, I think it was okay (Hasbro had some action figures in the works that I remember were excepted.), but Legends stuff isn't supposed to be developed into toys going forwards. All the sets you mentioned are from before this happened. I think that's the set we all wanted when we first saw the Hypori episode, but let's not let wishes into the rumors topic, right? As for the Azure Angel as a choice of set from the series, well, we know TLG loves their Anakin's Starfighter sets, right?
-
I must say that I'm not sure what you're trying to argue or prove here. It doesn't matter how cool the theme is or how many positive aspects it has if it's not active; activity is what drives the need for separate subforums. That's not how polls are supposed to work. The idea of a poll is that you get everyone's opinion; if someone is not interested in participating in a Post-Apoc build, then they should vote, 'Nay.' No one can use the poll to reliably gauge interest if members who have no intention of joining vote 'Yea.'
-
75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter; in the (very tiny) prelim pic, it has the blue and white color scheme, big underwing engines, flared front wings, and Delta-7 basic form that make it look a lot like the Azure Angel from the old CW series.
-
Your guess is as good as mine at this point. We're thinking that it must be being brought back in Rebels, or it's the last remnant of someone's determined project from before the EU shutdown to give us something from the old series. I guess there's also the chance that it's not actually the Azure Angel and just looks really similar.

A Post-Apoc subforum has been suggested by members and discussed before, if I remember correctly. Basically what it boils down to is that there aren't enough Post-Apoc MOCs and discussion topics to make sense for it to have a separate forum or subforum, especially since TLG has never made Post-Apoc sets and in all likelihood never will. Among such subthemes, Post-Apoc probably isn't even the frontrunner — there are arguably FOL-created subthemes that are more deserving of a subforum, such as Steampunk (And I'm not saying that Steampunk deserves its own subforum either; I'm just using it as an example of an FOL-created theme that I see more activity in compared to Post-Apoc.). As for a Post-Apoc-themed community build, assuming that such a program was started (and I'm not saying it will be), it would need to prove that it can maintain a high level of activity before we could even consider splitting it off into a separate subforum. As Pep said, Historica and Heroica both started out as projects in their respective main theme forums, then got specific subforums after at least a year of overwhelmingly positive activity. (And in the case of Nar Eurbrikka, we just happened to already have a subforum for contests, so that subforum was its place in the scheme of the main SW theme forum, rather than the subforum being created before the project had proven itself.)

It doesn't really matter how TLG views LotR's place in its lineup — we're not TLG (and don't misinterpret this as my saying that we don't agree with TLG; I'm just saying that we're going to make the decision that we think is best for EB, and we don't have to do things the exact same way TLG does). We know that Castle has come back concurrently with LotR, but, as I've said, there was an entire year in which Kingdoms was ended, Castle was not yet released, and for all intents and purposes, LotR was the medieval, historic theme in TLG's lineup. It was therefore thematically appropriate to make an exception and place LotR in History. Its subject remains thematically appropriate for the History forum, so that's where it stays even now that Castle is back. Besides, moving it after two years of much activity would cause even more confusion among members as to where to post about it. Also, I would like to point out that Brickset and Bricklink are primarily database sites. It's much more efficient for them to have a lot more categories than EB as a discussion forum has. Among other things, more theme forums means that we have some forums that end up greatly lacking in activity; it means that we have to maintain more indices (some of which will end up with little to no content and rarely be read); it means more limitations and less efficiency for our Regulators who would have to be spread out over those extra forums because of how board permissions work; it means that we end up with a longer main index page that's harder to read or takes longer to scroll past if a reader wants to look at one of the lower theme forums.

Yeah, "Death Star-sized," 3000-5000 pieces, release January 2015 is all we've heard about it for now.
-
Were there castle sets in 2012? No. Was there a medieval-esque line with knights and swords and shields in 2012? Yes: LotR. I never said that it was a permanent replacement. LotR replaced castle for at least a good year, so it made sense to place it in History, otherwise that forum would have had no activity for a year even though there was a major thematically appropriate line being released. And before you try to draw more comparisons between the case of LotR and those of other themes, I'll say again that LotR was one of just two special exceptions. We respect what TLG says and we aren't disagreeing with them, but their description of their license has nothing to do with how active that license is on EB or when we decide that that license deserves its own them forum on EB.
-
There are typically no new molds in the prelims; the rat is almost certainly a placeholder part.
-
That is basically exactly what we've been saying. There are not "many [...] special exceptions;" there are two: LotR and PotC. They go in History and Pirates because it made sense in those particular cases, not following or establishing any particular rule. Everything else that's licensed goes in Licensed. Simple.
-
Dino is not a currently ongoing theme — Jurassic World is a new theme that's similar to a retired theme; it's not replacing any Dino theme. In any case, it wouldn't matter how you think of it, because Jurassic World's being in Licensed isn't going to leave another arguably appropriate theme forum without any new sets, so it is not a similar case to LotR or PotC (which, again, are the exception, not the guideline).

I'm...not sure about that, admittedly. Both versions of the Stormie already exist, so I don't know why they weren't used. I guess there could be another alteration to the Stormie design, but that sounds unlikely to me. I don't thjnk a placeholder minifig would be used for an existing minifig — it seems very, very unlikely that TLG doesn't have any available copies for its prelims if it's a minifig currently in production.
-
I forgot where exactly I read this — I think it was the first LSW Visual Dictionary — but I believe that one of the features of the set designers' workspaces are sets of drawers containing every minifig part currently in production. I would be fairly certain that those pieces are readily available just for brainstorming, so I highly doubt that an existing design would be unavailable for a prelim photo shoot.

We were not wrong. There were not any Kingdoms or Castle sets released in 2012 concurrently with LotR. LotR replaced the generic castle line. Moving it back two years later now that Castle has come back would cause even more confusion among readers and posters as far as where to post what. The 'Need for activity' argument doesn't apply to Lone Ranger. That theme provides practically no activity at all. I'll say it once again: LotR was a special exception. The reasons behind its placement in History are not necessarily a guideline for the placement of other themes, Lone Ranger included. Brick-built Artoo is a Star Wars UCS set, not Creator. Super Heroes has been around for a couple of years; it can hardly be called 'evergreen,' nor can it really be compared to classic themes such as Trains and Pirates that have been around for decades. Besides, the current activity in Trains and Pirates isn't indicative of past activity, such as when they first became separate theme forums. Maybe Super Heroes will get big enough and stick around long enough to warrant its own theme forum; we've never said that that wasn't a possibility. But right now the Licensed Moderator is telling us that it's not yet that time.

Thanks, aayla-secura and rexusprime! That AT-DP! It looks beautiful from what we can see. The ARC-170 and LAAT/i, for whatever reason, I find to be really cute. Not going to buy them, but they look great. Can't really see too much of the BPs, but that Imperial Troop Transport... I can't decide whether I'm amused or horrified. But we don't buy the BPs for the vehicles, so not too much harm done, I think. On the other hand, the AAT: that thing is tiny! It looks a lot more curved and organic than the last one, I guess, but the proportions just look bad. The base especially looks too small compared to the body, and too thick considering its width.
-
No, that is not the reason LotR and Castle were put together. Those two were put together because LotR would have left History without any new sets if it were placed in Licensed. It certainly helped the decision, the fact that LotR shared some stylistic aspects with Castle, but that was not the primary reason that they were grouped together in History. Yes, it did. There were no new Kingdoms/castle sets released in 2012, other than the Kingdoms Joust, which was released before the LotR sets, outside of any wave, and was available in very late 2011. Castle did come back later and run at the same time as LotR, but of course we had no way of knowing that at the time we made the decision of where to place LotR.

Just because something was previously introduced in a now non-canon publication doesn't mean that it can't be 're-canonized' by Rebels. (or Episode VII) I wouldn't hold my breath expecting an older design to appear in Rebels, considering how much TCW's producers seemed to like adding new ships that aren't entirely necessary, but it's worth noting that it's not completely outside the realm of plausibility.

We're all passionate fans of a building toy and a sci-fi franchise with a deep expanded storyline and universe (even if it's not canon...) with extensive online access to studio models. Add the fact that we're adults discussing toys targeted towards children, and the nitpicking is inevitable. You don't have to agree with the nitpicking; just make sure to keep it civil, guys.

Why the MegaBloks does the Arm Shield provide only HP and no SP?! I didn't check that; I just assumed that it would provide SP.
-
I agree that it's confusing, but you can't upgrade the SP of the Arm Shield except with Bright Polish. You can use it at the same time as a regular shield, though.
