The jungle sets were cool, some nice vehicles and parts and the animals were great but my top three for the year would be the Fishing Store, Saturn V and Assembly Square. This is subject to change when my Ninjago City arrives It looked great when I saw it in the store and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Allow me to introduce one of my favourite minifigs, Wilf. He started off life as a normal CMF explorer who I thought looked good with the Lego camel so I started taking the odd picture of him while out and about when I was living in Oman. While road tripping round Oman with my best friend Wilf soon developed a personality of his own as the classic late 19th/early 20th century eccentric British gentleman adventurer with a love for travel, exploring and above all gin. I have finally got round to starting an Instagram account to document Wilf's travels in Oman the United Arab Emirates and beyond. As well as outdoor photos I am hoping to make some MOCs of Wilf's life, adventures and the other characters in his life. Check him out at wilf_the_lego_explorer, I will try and update his travels here as well. That's enough from me, I will allow the great man to properly introduce himself. "Good evening people of Eurobricks, my name is Sir Wilfred Sutherland, 13th Lord of Strathbottom, late of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, please feel free to call my Wilf. I would also like to introduce you to my faithful camel Omar who is my constant companion as we travel the deserts of Arabia in search of the native people, a bit of excitement and wherever possible a good gin. I hope you will join my friends and I as we go about our adventures and maybe one day I will introduce you to my beloved wife Penelope and the great Highland estate of Strathbottom. I wish you all a pleasant evening and I shall bid you good night as I believe my manservant has found a nice refreshment for me." Hi, I have started an Instagram page for one of my favourite minifigs and his travels. Is it ok to post if on Eurobricks? I am not just looking for followers but hoping for advice from people who are better at photographing Lego than me

Gorgeous MOC, looks a bit like something you would see in Singapore

Not an injury but when I was very young I swallowed some Lego (think it was one of the old Classic Space Helmets) and my worried and took me to the hospital. The doctor was an old family friend and he said I would be ok, gave me some money and told me to buy a Mars bar next time I was hungry.

The Brick of Nations ---- Retired from Old Game
JSN replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
New Brikika views the defeat of attempts to bring peace with great sadness especially as it comes on the day that a greater threat emerges with Tosul testing ballistic missiles. Our intelligence indicates that the Tosulese missile program is part of a bigger plan to develop nuclear weapons and New Brikika views this as a far greater threat to our national security than the conflict with the Republic of Nations. Based on this the government of New Brikika has taken the decision not to join the war at this time as we prepare for the inevitable conflict with the vile communist regime of Tosul. This is not to be construed as weakness on our part, we will still provide support to our allies and are prepared to defend ourselves with the full might of our military should we be threatened. To the government of New Deland we say this, we have been enemies before, we have argued and fought wars but we are now at peace and must work together against the true threat to our continent and the world, the red menace of global communism! We invite the government of New Deland to join us in setting aside the squabbles of our competing alliances and enter into a non aggression pact and begin talks on how our great nations can work together to counter the scourge of communism before it destroys our way of life. -
The Brick of Nations ---- Retired from Old Game
JSN replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
[Note I will edit the post later with the New Brikika ambassador, I am not near my Lego right now] Ladies and Gentlemen of the Brick of Nations, as the representative of New Brikika to this great organisation I would like to second the motion presented by the esteemed Ambassador Berthold. Too often when countries bicker they reach first for the gun instead of taking their time to talk and find a reasonable solution. As a country that has helped keep the peace in troubled parts of our world for several decades we volunteer to act as moderator for any peace talks. As the first to cosponsor this proposal I implore other nations to lend their support and avoid unnecessary bloodshed. I also note the motion has been both presented and seconded by COAC nations and the only response from the Republic of Nations is a further declaration of war. Is the RoN so bloodthirsty that they will not even consider peace talks? I implore the nations of the RoN who are not involved in this conflict to join with those of us from the COAC who back this motion and show you too desire peace.l and prosperity for your people. -
[GBW] - Supporting the war effort - New Brikika - An Unorthodox Roadblock
JSN replied to JSN's topic in The Great Brick War
Not as much as you wouldn't think actually. The official ones are all from the sets they were released in and the Brickforge were mostly on sale. Might get a few more from BF but I won't be expanding the official herd at BL prices! Thanks. The jeeps are basically the backbone of my forces so you will probably be seeing a lot of them. I need to work on different variants to keep the originality scores up ?- 7 replies

Early one morning in the rural countryside of New Brikika a young captain leads a column of airbourne reconnaisance troops and combat engineers down a narrow country road to the rendezvous they have received orders to proceed to for the next phase of a training exercise. Along the column the men are tired but cheerful and conversation springs up but there is a surprise in store along the road and not one the young captain learned about at military school..... Lead Jeep: Corporal: "I hate these narrow country roads sir", "Why?" asks the captain. "Well sir, it's been a couple of klicks since we saw a passing place and if we come across a tractor or lorry how do we get past?" "Wel corporal we will just tell them to back up." "Err captain, I think we would have been better with the tractor. I don't see that lot backing up." "What the...." says the captain. Jeep 3: "What a lark this is", says the veteran engineer sergeant. "What is?" asks the private driving. "We are meant to be on a proper exercise and this is more like a Sunday morning drive. Look at this place, you have trees, hedges rows, walls. If I was the OpFor commander I would set an ambush right here and send us back to barracks for a decent breakfast, but no Captain Military Acadamy up there is proceeding to the RV like he doesn't have a care in the world." Suddenly the column slows and looking ahead the driver starts to laugh, "Not sure if the OpFor CO is up ahead sir but if he is he has put some great camo on his roadblock. "What the......" says the sergeant. "What is going on here" screams the captain standing up in his jeep". "Me and the lad are moving the cows up to yonder dairy for milking" replies the old farmer. "Well close that gate and let us pass, in the name of the army of New Brikika!" "I can't do that says the farmer, if I do they will scatter and I will spend all morning rounding them up again and miss my slot at the dairy. Can't afford that, the wife wants a new cooker, and I'll tell you what else lad, when I were in the service if we were going anywhere we did a recce first to make sure there were no nasty surprises, you might want to plan ahead more next time." While the young officer shouts at the stubborn old farmer the more experienced troops behind do what veteran troops do in these situations and enjoy a bit of downtime, grab a drink, have a quick sleep and climb through a gap in the wall to add to the already damp fields... Back in jeep 3 the sergeant stands and stretches "smoke 'em if you got 'em" he calls pulling a pack from a pocket in his body armour, "cos knowing our captains diplomatic skills we ain't going anywhere till every last bovine is milked." "God help us if we have to go into combat with him" opines one trooper. "Combat?" asks a second "When will we ever see combat? New Brikika has done nowt but peacekeeping since we gave up the empire". Don't be so sure says the sergeant. Filace, Briolui and Toohati are all declaring war on each other and that one could get messy. Mark my words lads, with this new government we could end up getting dragged into it since we are allied to Filace." "What about the Brick of Nations sarge? It said on the radio that Alsarh is calling for peace talks." "It won't hold lad, the BoN is all talk, there might be a conference but whatever they agree won't hold, it never does. We will be heading overseas or down to Deland shortly and when we do we won't be breaking out the blue hats and white paint for the tanks.........."

Sergeant David "Ando" Anderson, A Company, 1st Batallion, 5th New Brikika (COAC) Infantry Regiment reporting for duty. Sgt David "Ando" Anderson is a veteran of over ten years in the New Brikika military starting in the 5th Infantry Regiment before transferring to special forces. An expert in weapons reconnaisscence Ando has recently returned to the 5th as the life of a special forces trooper was putting too much strain on his marriage but despite him promising to leave his wife filed for divorce just before his transer was completed. Separated from the woman he loves and back in a regiment that has changed a great deal in his time away Ando must come to terms with life without the woman he loves and a return from the more relaxed operating style of special forces to the strict discipline of a regiment filled with young recruits and stuck up officers from the old New Brikika aristocracy. A return to the regular army also means given New Brikika's foreign policy that his best chance of going on operations is in a peacekeeping role that Ando considers to be little more than traffic control, what he craves is a bit of action and a part of him wonders if the troubles he sees reported on the news from other parts of the world could lead to something to relieve the boredom of barracks life...

So as the year draws to a close everyone starts vowing that on the 1st of January they will stop smoking, join a gym, see a new country etc so I am wondering has any one got any Lego specific New Year's resolutions? For me I want to spend more time working on MOCs other than the usual small vehicles and minifigures I mess about with. My plan is to start with a modular police station and a hotel based on the Heartlake Grand Hotel. Hopefully I will be able to share these on EB if I make something I am happy with? What are everyone else's Lego plans for 2017? Cheers, John
