  1. Dear Elise, While I am stuck in Terraversa, I learned I have been promoted and now am the mayor of our new settlement Nouveau Oleandia on île Dionysus. Sadly I cannot be there, but I wish you keep the place running while I am gone. I hope to be back soon. I don't know when I will, but hopefully soon. I miss you. I need you in my arms. I send Henri back to you from the front with this letter. Please keep him fed. He's been eating into our reserves, I fear. I jest, of course. Sending all my love, Emile My darling Emile, I pray you are still safe during this war. I have just moved in to our new residence here in Nouveau Oleandia. It is certainly different from the rest of the colonies! Music is everywhere! The colors are beautiful. You will surely love it when you return to my arms. We had a party to celebrate your promotion. Gilbert and William returned from their expedition, thankfully healthy and safe. Gilbert is quieter than normal, but I believe it will pass soon. And you sent Henri back! He's grown up so much over the past few years! I must ask, did you give him any alcohol? He doesn't seem to be able to handle his liquor. Henri ended up sleeping in our bed! Do not worry, not with me. He drank so much, he fell asleep on the nearest bed. I did not get to sleep in our bed on the first night in this new town! The party went well, otherwise. A priest even came by to check on us. Do you remember the opera we saw before you left? It was about a sailor leaving his wife for an adventure, becoming trapped by the sea and eventually returning rich. Sadko. I hired the main actor to come sing and entertain for the night. I wish you were here to see it. You would love it. Counting down the days until you're back, Elise Here we see Gilbert contemplating life. Henri getting "lit" as the 2010s kids would say. William is watching him, judging. Elise and a man hired for serving food for the party. A guest and a priest outside the in-house office of the mayor. The mayor's bedroom.
  2. I think you're trying to see the forest through the trees. Or how is that saying go? Anyway, there's a LOT of money in licensing. Believe me. I've been on that side of stuff. Licensing makes a lot of money with (relatively) little skin in the game (if you're the one doing the licensing. We've seen the lucrative deals with LEGO and Big Bang Theory, Voltron, etc. Of course LEGO's best licensing deal is Star Wars. LEGO is now doing deals with Nintendo with Mario, which is Nintendo's biggest and most recognizable property. And so what LEGO fans can't enjoy Bandai licenses? As a pure LEGO fan, I can't enjoy HALO or similar? Do I care? No. I pay LEGO for the quality, name, etc. Bandai can make their foray into buildable bricks, but it's way too expensive. Not only do they have to compete with LEGO, but they have to fight Mega, Oxford, Chinese knockoffs, and everything else. It's easier to license. So why aren't they? Because neither company sees it necessary to do it yet. Bandai is an incredibly niche product. While A LOT of people love Bandai brands, they can mainly name the specific licenses (Pokemon, One Piece, etc). Bandai is like Nintendo but a step or two lower. Bandai, right now, is better to license off the brands, which they are doing with Hasbro, etc. And IDEAs isn't for AFOLs to get the most incredible set ever out to the public. It's for LEGO to farm talent and ideas for non-licensed products. And ypou're forgetting Bricklink's (owned by LEGO now) push to get AFOl projects into the hands of people.
  3. Fantastic work! I'm glad Oleon is having more people get involved in the alcohol trade. I love some good inter-faction competition.
  4. Welcome to the faction! Can't wait to see your builds!
  5. My wallet is going to be crying.
  6. Thanks! I thought I was going crazy doing the whole eye doctor "1 or 2? 1 or 3?" type of thing. Thanks! That's exactly the style we're going for!
  7. Thanks! I spent probably 30-40 minutes trying all of the wrought iron look options before deciding on this one.
  8. After a few months, settlers were beginning to establish residences in Oleon's new holding, île Dionysus. The new residents, having successfully mucked through swamp, battled mosquitos, and avoided crocodiles, erected homes, such as this two-story house, and they named the settlement Nouveau Oleandia. With the area quickly becoming more inhabited, music began to fill the streets. Here, you can see a new settler walking past his residence on way to find some distant tunes.

  10. ... as opposed to just putting the steps out of order?
  11. You left out the most important faction: Skaven!
  12. Yup. Or, you can make a side character who is from another nation that has "joined the otherside," e.g. my side character of William for my MC Emile. And by "joined the otherside" I mean it's just the history of where said character is from.
  13. Fantastic job! I love your builds, always so well made.
  14. Thanks! I can't take credit for the candles. I saw them elsewhere, but I can't remember who did them. It's very effective though.
  15. 12th December
  16. I think I've posted this elsewhere on the site, but LEGO takes some time to make. They don't just have an automatic printer for each piece. They have to manually change out pieces/colors with the molds. I don't know how Denmark is dealing with COVID-19, but I would guess they are limiting people in non-essential businesses. That means limiting people in toy factories to change out molds for LEGO bricks.
  17. Thanks all! Yes, I'm much happier with using the berries now for the viens instead of my original design.
  18. My dear Emile, I pray you are safe. I've heard about the ongoing conflict in Terraversa. I hope you return safely and soon, with a victory for Oleon. As I've been in charge of the business while you were gone, I spoke with your Uncle Robert about what to do next, and he suggested purchasing a vineyard, something we have not had yet. I've purchased one in Astrapi. All my love, Elise This is using the small microscale I won during the recent competition.
  19. "You know what I meant," Jack harrumphed. "I try to not type when I can avoid it. The best work is done by hand." "Keep in mind somebody brought that demon plush into my stateroom. We know my hands will be on places here, as Graceis clearly scanning. But there should be other people's too. How else would tht thing get in here?"
  20. "I'm unsure. I've been a sort of fog for a bit." He looks at his hands. "And I'd like to think I have no injuries to my hands, I write with them!"
  21. Adding onto this because I have second hand knowledge of this. It takes a long time to switch out the molds. I want to say what I heard was their fast, most efficient people would still take up to 20-30 minutes to switch out a mold from one mold to another. So yeah, it's just not economical to do rare pieces people won't buy in big quantities.
  22. I'll do December 10th!
  23. Not sneaky, never sneaky. We have been the most upstanding gentlemen!
  24. Jumping in here, and I like the ideas of gods as tangible beings, but I'm slightly hesitant to that due to it could be very easy to mess them up. Could an idea by to have us interact with their intercessors/representatives? I'm not saying each god needs a pope-like figure, but some kind of representative who is hard to seek out or appears rarely. That way we can leave the interpretation of "is that what the god really wants?" or "is this actually them manifested but unsure" to players and QMs. Also, hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in here. Been busy with work, BoBS, etc. Hopefully around Thanksgiving I can get a break to dive into here.
