  1. $2.50 a month!?!? That's a steal! I pay $5 a month for my server and I find it a very good price. Two domains are included (worth around $20 a year). IP has been sent to you.
  2. FYI, I tried to download the file again, just as a test since I already have version .91, and I still cannot connect to your website. There is some permanent problem between my ISP and your server. I have no idea what it could be. But, again, since I have VPN, it is not a problem. And I noticed you shared your application through Google Doc which I had no problem using.
  3. It seems big companies found the gold pot that Lego has been using for ages. Design a set using Lego bricks, put your brand in it (but don't call it a "Lego set"), build a few, build no more, and then let its scarcity drive the prices up as people will get to know about the set and will want one copy due to its "exclusivity". Only big brand name companies can use this formula though. If a John Doe try to do this, nobody will want the "exclusive set" with John Doe brand in it. If enough companies started doing this, BL prices that are already too high and going ever higher, will skyrocket.
  4. There must be a reason, a sponsor, an explanation why someone would make a 250k piece Lego project. I can't imagine someone doing this just for the sake of a hobby.
  5. And I thought I was crazy by spending money in BL buying 6000+ pieces over the course of my 3 months in BL...
  6. Oh, so the "advent" word comes from the Christmas season! I didn't know this word and always read it and thought of something like "advanced" and would think "why call advanced something that is the opposite of advanced", after all, it is for very simple builds, isn't it? And they are only sold before Christmas? How many days of the month do they cover?
  7. If I ran TLG? If I am running it, it means I am its CEO, not its owner, because the owner owns it, does not run it (he used to run, but not anymore, I've read he was doing a bad job so he fired himself...). As for me being TLG's CEO, it will never happen so I see no reason to conjecture. I could though accept a position as CIO...
  8. I gave up trying to understand or explain Lego's actions. I have been happier with Lego since then.
  9. I don't even know exactly what they are. Something for you to build a micro-something each day, I think. Sounds very uninteresting to me.
  10. Oh, ok, sorry, I never realized the existence of that button... :dumb:dumb:dumb:
  11. A suggestion to the admins: you should allow ONE post a day for new forum users, until they have like 10, then they would be free to post any a day. by doing this, you probably can avoid these buggers, like the one above, to post multiple spammer's posts in the forum. They would post just one, then you would ban the retarded before s/he has the time to post another.
  12. SPAMMER ALERT, SPAMMER ALERT... RETARDED ALERT, RETARDED ALERT...
  13. I much prefer the old bigger blue "soft" instruction books to these new small hard'ish cover with black pages that I am finding in new sets like Architecture and Cuusoo. I could not find either. Pics too small, I hate small pics ...
  14. For mobile devices better would be to have a dedicated site like those sites that detect the device and present the site accordingly. Your site in my mobile looks just like here, in my PC, which means it is not comfortable to use the mobile for this website anyway. I understand the spirit of and agree with guidelines, my questions were more complex than that and unfortunately you have not answered most of them but it is ok since, as I said, this is not an important issue. Understanding is more relevant to me than actually having the right for more pics and links. Cheers.
  15. Yes, I guess so, the user that has a signature with 10 pics and 15 links is full of badges (like you, but more) and has a lot of stuff and stars in that area with the badges, so I figured s/he must be pretty important, but then I thought why relate signature limits to importance, of number of posts or whatever, does not sound much "democratic" (although I understand that this is not a public server but a private one - but still one expects equality usually in a public forum, right)?
  16. I have a limit of 5 pictures and 4 links for my signature (which does not make much sense for me since logically speaking it should be 5 pictures and 5 links or 4 pictures and 4 links since if you have a picture you will mostly want to have it linked to someplace else) but I have been seeing users with many more pictures and links in their signature than this limit would allow, like one that has 10 pictures, one link for each picture and additional 5 links which makes it with 10 pics and 15 links. Why are there differences in limits for users? Why limit number of links if you don't limit number of lines? Someone could post one thousand lines in a signature but can't use more than 5 pictures... Why not limit the size of the signature (width and height) in pixels and let the user do whatever s/he wants in that area (as long as morally acceptable, of course)? If I can use up to 5 pictures and each can have up to 500x200 pixels, that is a lot of allowed area to use but who wants to have 5 big images like these in their signature? A signature is supposed to be something small and compact, so better more pictures of much smaller sizes, isn't it? Note: this is not an important issue for me, but I like to understand the "why" behind things and I can't understand the "why" behind the signature limits, that's why I ask. Thanks!
  17. Click the link MyBrickLink, on the top menu, and you should be directed to a page that has a link named "Stores with Items in My Cart". Click it.
  18. I wrote here previously about a suggestion to create a "whitelist" but I was reading it right now and realized it was a confusing suggestion. So I thought about a simpler "whitelist" suggestion and here it is: you have now the blacklist to block a store (or stores) to ever be considered in the calculations. The new suggestion is to have a whitelist to force a certain store (or stores) to be part of the solution. The reason again is that if there was such a feature, it would help me to deal with rare parts.
  19. Thank you. I have 71 inches of space for the modulars and no more. That means I need 7 of them. Since I don't and will never have the first 3, that leaves me with 6, so I am short of one. The HH came to the rescue. Also, the HH is green and I just love green, specially the greens that are not the regular basic Lego green (like the HH green or the Parisien Rest. green)! I was thinking that maybe, next year, when Lego releases the next modular, I can remove the HH from the row and have it alone some place else. The HH would be great alone because, in my opinion, it is the most beautiful building ever, more than any of the modulars released so far. All the four sides have at least some detail, so you can look at it from any angle and it will always be a nice building. It was meant to be alone.
  20. Thank you all for the nice comments. As you can see, in a HUMONGOUS shelf! That is a nice minifig...maybe I'll add it to my super collection. I love pizza! The dead minifig is an "accessory to a minifig".
  21. I finally finished this project! It was finished but then I decided to enhance it a little bit more so I added a swamp with muddy waters and a family of black swans into the landscape. The tree now is surrounded by the waters of the pond/swamp. And another picture: This closes this chapter of my Lego addiction life. There are still two other chapters to close and then I will be done with Lego: one is the Ole Kirk's House (OKH), still not finished since I also decided to change a few things, and the other is connected to OKH, it is a vehicle for Mr. Ole, the Ford Model A Pickup. One thing that I still don't like much in this Haunted House is the tree - from the Werewolf set. I'd like to have a scary tree with no features, a more "pure" tree, but I am not going to change it. Enough with the HH. And here is the LXF file. It is as close to what I built as possible. Oh, and the black cat that you can see in the LXF file was an idea that I never implemented. Too expensive to buy that cat. And the dark bley 2x16 plate that holds the vehicle was just a way for me to use that plate that ended up as a spare part.
  22. THIS forum made me start a minifig collection! It all started with me having to choose an avatar for this forum, a picture to represent me. I chose, at first, a minifig of a cowboy because I was born and raised in a city that is known as a city of cowboys (today is more like modern cowboys...). I searched the internet for the words "cowboy lego" and found a minifig that I liked. After a while, I chose to change it, due to my Italian roots, for something more Italian, and I thought jokingly about the mafia. So after some search for some mafia related minifig I found the minifig that I am using now. After looking so often to my two avatars, the cowboy and the Italian ones, I grew fond of them and I decided to find out more about these two minifigs. That is when I learned that both were part of a series of minifigs, fortunately easy to buy. I then looked at all minifigs from all series and found just one more that was also related to me, the computer programming guy. So now my immense minifig collection has these three minifigs, and I have no plans on expanding it unless Lego comes up with something that has a strong relation to what I am and like. The "mafioso" has just killed a man, poor guy, and there is blood all over...
  23. Today I had to use a plier to grab a 4L sword (#30374) and remove it from a plate with clip (#4081) after painfully having just inserted it, both new pieces. After realizing it was really stuck, I tried first to wear rubber gloves to have more grasp, but still could not pull it out. The plier did the trick but damaged a little the sword. I was like (sarcastically)... "whoa, that's what I call high quality manufacturing.."
  24. Because there are too many people that pay the price so why lower it?
