I am very happy to see lego create such a lovely ship! It's the biggest 'Imperial flag ship' ever! And most detailed! It's about time the Imperials were a REAL match against the pirate 'battleships'! Just think... if you own the BSB and SES then this Imperial flagship can take them both on in a sea battle! (just add 4 more cannons to the otherside lol) execellent work lego! Guys.... Regarding the previous forum msg's about the new Imperial warship.... Couldn't we email 'LEGO', and ask/tell them what we would like the ship to look like? Same size/bigger than the current pirate ship. Atleast they'll get a 'fans' prespective upon things.... we could always send out a 'petition' too?

I seriously do not think the Lego group would re-release the 'pirate theme'. for quite some time yet. The 1990's sets were amazing and in my opinion the best Lego sets ever created! If a new Pirate theme came out today it wouldn't be as impressive.

I fell in love with the lego pirate theme when i was four years old. My mother bought me the '6267-Lagoon Lock-Up (Soldiers Tavern)'. I remember playing with it for days on end! I asked for the '6271-Imperial Flagship (Sealion)' for christmas and collected a few more sets which i played with. As i grew older I lost interest and used computer games, had girlfriends etc. In 2006 I found this forum, and it brought back all the old found memories. I now collect lego pirates! Spend hours on ebay searching for the perfect in a box +instructions sets. Unfortunatly these days lego hasn't produced anything decent since the 'star wars' theme!

for the first time EVER, i signed up with ebay today and going to buy myself some pirate lego. I have made a few bids for my xmas combo :-P hehe, bidded for 3 ships: - Skull Eye schooner, Black seas barracuda and the Caribbean clipper. Also Eldorado fortress and imperial trading post and a lot of mini figs! My username is ultrawebz - so if you see me bidding please let me win as I need to start up my pirate lego collection! But im sure one of you friendly fellows would like to make me a standard one? *sweet* I would like the offcial tradition pirate drop purple sky background, you know the ones you get on the old sets! With a pirate fighting a red grunt X-D

Yes indeed! I prefer the Red grunts tho, as for the blue ones reminds me too much of the french. :-P

Because it has more cannons? I prefer BSB because the ship has a nice design and more traditional to the time of imperial fleets and expeditions of that era. Also I believe the BSB is sleeker and slightly smaller than the SES, hence the amount of cannons is irrelevant because the BSB has more agility. Also how would we know the gunners? If the gunners were well trained they could counter the numerical advantage that the SES has.
