Heh, yeah, I think marketing people overestimate how many people have smartphones because all the marketing people they know have smartphones. The organization I work for just decided that a mobile website (or a mobile app, because everyone loves apps!) is an important thing to have really soon. I don't disagree that it's something to develop, but a quick Google Analytics report shows that mobile browsing accounts for just over 6% of our total traffic. So... not imperative. Anyway, I'd imagine that the store employees won't be adhering to the "you must upload a picture now" thing. Hopefully, they will hand it out to anyone who asks politely.

Yes, I really don't know how they're going to facilitate that promo, which has me worried that I still won't be able to get the poster. It seems like one of their more hair-brained marketing stunts, honestly. Doesn't seem like a lot of thought was put into how to determine who uploaded their picture, how do you get the poster once you do, etc. If it's an immediate thing, where you have to take a picture and upload it directly to your FB account in the store to get a poster handed directly to you, it's only for people who have smartphones, I guess. If you have to provide a mailing address through their FB page, a lot of people aren't going to be too thrilled by that requirement. If it's a download you want, you can grab the High-res version in the official press release on their site.

I have possible confirmation from an employee at the Palisade's Mall, NY LEGO Store that the poster they're talking about for the promo starting on the 21st is, in fact, the Avengers movie poster parody with the minifigures in place of the actors that they were supposedly giving out at movie theaters. I want one of those so bad!

While I have a fondness for the 'classic smiley' mainly due to nostalgia, I really like the more expressive facial prints found in modern sets. They just offer more personality, more of an immersive experience into the MOC.

With all the cool touches inside, I'm willing to bet the original design featured clear 1x1 round tiles over each 1x1 round plate on the micro PaB wall, but was deemed too expensive to make it to the final design. It's a great set, I wish there was a store opening near me sometime soon... oh, well. Also, I'd imagine the insane prices being paid for these right now on ebay will come down a little as more and more of the stores have their grand opening celebrations. I think this is only the second of the twelve stores opening that will be offering this set in the same way.

No, I understand perfectly. What I'm saying in response is you should ignore TRUs prices completely and compare Walmart to other stores because TRU marks their prices up astronomically. Comparing apples to apples, Walmart's prices aren't all that much to get excited about. You're comparing apples to apples that have been marked up by $20.

Yes, it is... $69.97! Whoa, what a bargain compared to the official LEGO Shop@Home site, or Target where it's $69.99!!! A whole two cents off, as I previously stated. Whenever I hear "Everyday low prices" I always append "by two cents" - it seems to almost be universally true of WM. Though Amazon has it for $67.98 right now...

But, generally speaking, only about $0.02 cheaper than anyone else who has their sets marked at MSRP. Every once-in-a-while you'll get a price-drop, but Target usually has the same sale going on at the same time. The best is when Walmart and Amazon get into a price-war, they just keep dropping and dropping until one of them flinches! As for the Vampire Castle - it looks incredible! I can't wait to get my hands on this theme, it's utterly ridiculous in the best way possible.

Pretty cute! I'd have to say, though, that you should invest in some white cones and round plates and such for the steam exhaust. Gray is more reserved for diesulpulp, as it has that heavy soot look to it. It also blends in with the other gray features on your MOC.

There could be Arctic Puffins and Polar Bears in the same set, though ;) Or maybe some Grolar Bears...

Thanks, everyone! As for CUUSOO, I don't know if there's enough of a market for "fuselage extender module" sets plus, I'm kinda married to the "open source" movement, including my LEGO designs... That's why I share the LDD files!
