Its really impressive. Especcially the crumbled walls look very realistic. I don't like it there are so many different brick collors in the wall, its a bit to chaotic for me.

These are very cool! I really like the detail they coppied really everything in to the lego version. Very original ideas (for me atleast *sweet*)

I just wanted to say i totally had the same thing. I was really disapointed when the catalog of '97 came out. I really liked the pictures in the old catalogs. I could stare at these compositions for many hours (i still can).This was one of the reasons i quit playing/building lego....the years between '97 and 2005 i missed since i picked up lego again just last year. I also want to say i would only buy sets like 6097 for the different bricks/pieces and minifigs. I totally dont like the castle designs. They are to simple and seem rushed in designing.

Its the turning handle that comes with the vikingship 7018, in this set its used for turning the chickens above the fire onboard the ship. @TheBrickster: Thx for the possitive reply! I'm very happy you like it so much. :-)

Hey gyl, yes you'r right about the colour scheme, but i just don't have enough of one colour. The same goes for the soldiers. In the future i hope to get all the same soldiers and a more monotone colour scheme for the walls. The busy courtyard is intentional yes, because i like to give a cosy feeling to it. Thx for the reply though, i'm glad you like it.

:-D Well some idiot friends of mine came to visit me and build a flying washmachine and placed it on my castle...i removed it afterwards (offcourse :-)) but forgot to take it from the table when making the pictures....i need to finish the cover up work or make a new picture :-/ Any way thanks for all your positive replies :-$. It is my real first try of making a castle (or any medieval construction). Offcourse i have built my bought sets very often but i never made something myself.

Hello, i am new to these forums. I just finished my first custom castle. I would like to know what you people think of it! Dont be to harsh hehe I know its not fantastic but i did my best.
