  1. Updated my post with just a couple of S7 figures - more to come when I get hold of a box or two.
  2. Yeah SilentMode, how dare you disagree with the mob. Burn him!
  3. I picked up some S7 figures yesterday (thanks for the tip-offs in the UK Sales thread, by the way) and am missing the Bunny Suit Guy, Merman and Valkyrie at the moment. But here's the official verdict: Must have: Computer Programmer, Tennis Ace Wouldn't say no: Grandma Visitor, Swimming Champion, Bride, Rocker Girl, Hippie Only for parts: Bunny Suit Guy, Bagpiper, Jungle Boy, Merman, Valkyrie Just one: Daredevil, Galaxy Patrol, Aztec Warrior, Evil Knight.
  4. Thank you for the comments/feedback! I am waiting on some yellow jumper plates (I've used Tan ones in their place for the time being), and I'll be doing a little more with the calendar.
  5. I remember seeing the Joker action figure, and some sets labelled "SUPER HEROES", but they weren't on my radar - my bad. I'm not 24!
  6. I've just gotten back from John Lewis on Oxford Street, and they had S7 (shortly before someone bought what was left). In fact, many John Lewises have them in stock, but in small quantities - right now about one box per store. They will of course be getting some more. They're priced £1.95, so no price change (for now). In the meantime it's worth checking out some of their other sets: the Police helicopter was just under £33, and the Police station was around £56. I asked at the WH Smiths in Shepherds Bush, and they suggested they would have S7 on Thursday. </howitsdone>
  7. Okay. I was at Shepherds Bush today (forgot to being my notepad, so couldn't update Brickbuildr) and took a peek behind the counter of Smiths, but didn't see any red boxes.
  8. Here's what I did with the calendar set: In designing it I wanted it to be compact and easy to reassemble, but at the same time not use a whole bunch of parts. The backbone of this design involves 2x2 jumper plates, along with this part, which hold the printed bricks together while allowing them to separate easily. Also, the plate used on top not only holds everything together, but can be used to add a small display. Perhaps use table scraps to build a quick model, or show off one's latest acquisition of minifigures/dolls. Of course, I got the inspiration to take on this challenge from darkdragon.
  9. I should probably mention: play.com has S7 available on pre-order, with a supposed release date of 6th April. However, they won't let you order more than five at a time.
  10. And which one would that be?
  11. Right now, I think S7 is on a par with S4 as being the best series. While it has a better assortment of figures, I'm disturbed by the distribution. All of a sudden the rabbit (which if I'm honest I'm a bit disappointed by, but I called it from the beginning) is going to become more expensive and "desirable". But I will definitely be keeping an eye out for these when they come out. The Nerd, Hippie, "Grandma Visitor" and even the Valkyrie will be on my hitlist.
  12. Not really: there were three when I was there, and they consisted of older PAB parts with parts from the previous two Monthly Builds.
  13. My humble local Tesco has the Powerboat Transporter for £10, which sounds good but isn't my thing. Also as a heads-up: the calendar set with the Cheerleader and S1 Skateboard Dude is back at the Lego store, at least in Stratford.
  14. I'm still trying to conceptualise my calendar... but I think yours looks cool with the Friends minidolls and parts.
  15. I think the concept is worthier of a release than certain other, possibly game-related approvals, and I think it's been very well presented and designed - but I don't think I'd get one either. I'd buy a space station (definitely the ISS if it's ever released), but not a satellite. In terms of parts, the black panels and the round tiles are the highlights.
  16. I was at Stratford yesterday (just a few hours ago): sadly no minidolls in the grab bags, but still a good selection of parts - they're adding parts from the last two Monthly mini-builds to some more. The wall was the same as the last update. Might have to revisit Shepherds Bush either later or on Thursday, things are getting interesting!
  17. One of my favourite parts is how you've used those otherwise useless arch pieces for the exterior. An ingenious method for stairs, too!
  18. I'm a little upset that I didn't go back to the Lego store(s) sooner, because in passing Shepherds Bush earlier today I noticed the grab bags. They also seem to be upping their game on the PAB wall, which can only be good news. I'm hoping there's going to be some bags left when I return tomorrow, but thankfully I have a couple of Christmas boxes left, so I will be filling my boots. As well as some white horses (the rumours were true!) I also saw Green and Reddish Brown 1x4 tiles and 1x2 palisade (log) bricks in Tan.
  19. is going back to AFOLcon!

  20. Last night at Clapham Junction's ASDA, there were two of the Star Wars planet sets available for 4.50. They also still have some of the discounted Alien Conquest motherships.
  21. This is the only modular building I've even considered buying, and it's mainly for the parts. I also like to think I provided some inspiration for the elevator, even though the one I'd built used an old-school Technic rack. ) Thank you for the great review! I might eventually be swayed...
  22. Agh! A belated +1 to both Scubacarrot and charlieboy!
  23. Quick update: I got my voucher send-offs in the post a couple of weeks ago, but picked them up this morning. All vulture droids.
  24. Check your Build-A-Mini sections: parts from the S2 and S3 collectibles have started showing up. I've also seen a select few S1 parts as well.
  25. A very good effort, sir!
