Alexandre looks up as he's chosen. He heads down the stairs an stops. "See you later Haldor, thanks for the gem. And, bonjour, Karie, we meet again. Your table is open again, us Knights are going on a quest. I hope to see vous soon." Alexandre, his prick side showing in that last part, heads out.

^ Yep, this.

Alexandre shakes- 55 gold for the emerald. "Thanks for the deal, ami."
-
"So how about 50 then? Deal?"

I think the Trolls and Dragons are included in the Common Sense rule. Of course, it is up to interpretation, but I think the QM is the best judge of what should be muggable in his own quest- not some overlord rule that's one-size-fits-all. I'd like to see it implemented, maybe like this: Welcome to Capt.JohnPauls' quest! The great quest that lets you steal from dragons, trolls, and humans! (In signature or something like that, or profile.) I can decide what is common sense in my own quest. If you disagree, don't go on my quest.
-
And I think that's where the common sense clause would work. It's common sense a beggar doesn't have money. The Humanoid rule wouldn't make sense, as the beggar is a human, but shouldn't have money. I think it comes down to either Common Sense or Endgame's 2nd proposal. The banking system is neat, but just wouldn't solve the problem of rogues making too much, Though if we do have a bank, are there depositing fees and taxes?
-
Yes, but people are making money out of thin air, and others aren't. If I want a certain type of armor to be hard to buy, I have to raise the price. Or if it's completely ludicrous to buy 10 nostrums, I'll raise the price of consumables, just so it's costlier to use that cheap get-doped-up-rogue strategy. Also for artifacts, some of Fabian's stuff is limited in supply. So now, there is demand, and low supply. These 1 of a kind items wouldn't be special if any old rogue could just buy one, so we would have to raise the price.

10 hours of scooping ice cream... I'm sure you'll want to get back ASAP. Have fun.

Thanks, vote tallier Flare. I think that is pretty convincing, to those who aren't yet. So those who haven't voted, get on the bandwagon!

"Well, gems are worth 100 right? I only have 67, that's more than half, what you'd get from selling anything to a market. What do you say?"
-
Flipz, if you want a sense of self-preservation, no one is stopping you. Just don't give out consumables as much. And let me tell you all, the Fields' purpose is not to farm gold, but you can do it there. I've seen private plans of how to get a ton of gold using an ingenious strategy. Once this plan is used, the people who get all this gold are clever, but the game will be beyond broke. Also, too much gold, and this is what will happen when a rogue comes on my quest: Rogue steals tons of gold. The value will go down, because rogues get it so easily. Next time the party stops at a market or store in my quest, I will raise the prices. The rest of the party can't buy anything, as they make no money. Rogues get all the consumables and potions. Rogues become the next healer. Or they get more WP, they become the next barbarian. You get my point. This simple economic fact makes all other classes useless.

So, 2 votes for The Great Endgame Compromise of 2013.. (or 3 votes? 1 wasn't very clear.) And 1 vote for the Common Sense Clause.
-
You will not have a lack of income. It's not even your job to begin with. It's the clerics.
-
I vote: The Great Endgame Compromise of 2013 (His second proposal.)
-
Again though, that's your choice to help the party. We shouldn't say it's unfair to nerf the gold gaining because then they don't have enough money to spend on themselves. Come on, we all know that's megablocks. I rarely ever use multiple consumables, because I have no money to spend on myself. You guys don't have to take consumables, or help the party. You guys make hundreds each battle, that's more than enough to buy a mead, a nostrum, smelling salts, tonics, potions, etc. Thanks. I think QM's know what should happen in their own quest, and any rule about everything won't help some circumstances which requires common sense. Also, saying gold can only be stolen from enemies who drop gold, might encourage QM's to drop more gold, which will help the other classes. (And specifically, knights, who can finally upgrade SP)
-
If someone gets more gold in 1 hit than Scuba does in an entire battle, then something needs to be fixed. Anyways, if it limits others, it limits him too. Suppose non rogue classes make 0 gold. And rogue ones make 10. And suppose Guts now supposes that this is too much gold, and cuts it down to 5. This results in rogues making the same amount of money as each other, and NR classes are closer in the amount of gold.
-
Endgame, your second solution is much better! No complex formulas or additional rules. Let's see what others think.
-
Scuba is limiting his power in this. Anyways, I think the Common Sense Clause would work, even if it came down to personal preference. The QM knows what is common sense and what should happen in his own quest. The last thing we need is a "one size fits all" rule that everyone has to follow.
-
Could we instead of Huamnoids, say in the Rogue's description that gold can only be stolen from Common Sense enemies? That way, it's not just humanoids, and includes dragons and trolls. We don't need to say anything more, just use common sense.
-
"Merci, but I am in need of a gem permanently. Sorry. " Alexandre's dark eyes catch a reflection of light, and looks up at the emerald. "Is...tha-at.. a... an emerald? Willing to trade for it?"
-
Agreed, humanoids only is simple.
-
I know- that is just lazy economics. If you borrow more than you make, you will go broke. It's like working at McDonalds, buying a mansion, and then telling your boss you need $100,000 raise to pay your mortgage, and that if he doesn't pay up, you'll be nerfed. Or, "If I don't make all this money, how am I going to pointlessly give away all this money to charity?" KOTRT stand with Team Guts.
-
Alexandre gets up and starts asking heroes, "Does anyone have an elemental gem I could have? I'd be willing to make a deal."
-
It's still good when everyone else is making 0 income.

Why do you care for NPC's? You're a rogue.... If you're playing a selfish rogue, the last thing you would do is donate money to an NPC. If you want to play a good rogue, go ahead, but no one is forcing you to. It's your choice to give your money away.
