  1. Take the test in the cannon MOC thread . Maybe you will get better? Glad you like my "sweet" models. I LEGO-ized the HMS TRINCOMALEE kurt
  2. The Republic of Texas Navy. ;^) kurt
  3. Glad you like them. High praise indeed. I have modified my little ship Black Pearl-lite to make a rev. 2 , I added a little more red to kick it up a notch! I have also build it in LeoCAD, does anybody know where I can upload LeoCAD drawing files to so that anybody can download them? ie. a brickshelf for LeoCAD drawings? kurt
  4. SO? NO ONE can answer this test question!!
  5. I need to take more pics! All the big ships have complete insides esp. the gun decks. RTS LEGOMALEE If you look below the two ships boats into the hole into the gun deck you will see: ladders on each end, the formast, a barrel, a crewman, and ofcoarse 4 guns (of the 22 total on the gun deck 11 on each side) on their carages, with wheels, each tied off to the hull at each side of the gun port hole (4081b) my pirate vignette shows this http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=122331 It has the same cross-section as the LEGOMALEE and the decks are open except to the masts passing through. And very short (just like the proto types!) No tall hat on minifig standing strait-up! The captain's cabins (and the flag deck on the LEGOMALEE) also open, and nicely done, however I have never made any funishings for them, ie. desks chairs beds cabinets extra. I recall seeing a captain's office somewhere (a search on lugnet I am sure) kurt
  6. It's Cylinder 3 x 3 Hemisphere So what is the rest? (test time!) Here's a hint if you need it. but even with the hint you need you will need to figure stuff out! enjoy kurt

  8. Another smaller carronade and a larger 12 inch breach-loading rifled naval gun. enjoy kurt
  9. I made 4 carronades for the RTS LEGOMALEE's quarter deck trying to match the 6 on the real HMS TRINCOMALEE's quarter deck using black 2489s. pic1 pic2 more images at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=225619 kurt Glad you like Lugnet 4180 kurt
  10. You ask a good question, in http://news.lugnet.com/pirates/?n=4142 I said. "the [frigate's] stern looked wonderfully low and sleek, with just the captains cabin below the quarter deck. And as the LNA (Lego Naval Architect) of the RTN I would have left it that way. However she (the RTS LEGOMALEE) is the largest ship the fleet and the Admiral needed a flag-cabin, so ... Now she has a nice dramatic aft." The truth is that low rear cabin on the frigate did look nice but when compaired to the rest of the fleet. pic1 It looked to small. So I added the flag-deck cabin! This let me built a stern castle with some height to it. pic2 pic3 The kicked-out windows on both the RTS LEGOMALEE and the RTS SAN LEGONIO are 3 4 5 right triangles with the window in the middle of the 5 long side with a stack of 2 1x1 round and 1 1x1 cone bricks on each side of the window. The stern's inverted sloped windows on the RTS LEGOMALEE,RTS SAN LEGONIO and the RTS REMEMBER the LEGAMO are 1 brick thick panel that is at the bottom hinged with a row of 4315 on the RTS LEGOMALEE this panel trapped at the top by a 1x16 row of plates attached to the underside of a larger plate. Look closely at pic2 on the far side as the inverted sloped panel comes to the top by the upper far white arch brick. Hope this helps. kurt
  11. Ah, you need help using bricklink! Go to bricklink and enter the part you want click "Go!" Lets say you entered a 3001 which is a "brick 2 x 4" You sould see http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=3001 Now click Show More Filter Options Now chose your country or Region put a dot there and pull-down the correct answer. In the "Sort by" pull-down select "Lowest Price" Click "Go!" Now you should see the lowest priced parts in you Region/Country you might want to add a color you do that by typing in the "Search Within Results" entry window. Hope this helps. kurt
  12. Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed the RTS LEGITOR. But wait until you see the monster I am working on NOW!! I need two of these modeled with Lego Pneumatics I have the Pneumatics and the paddel wheels done, I have one walking beam part-way done I am missing parts to finish it (bricklink time) as well as make a second one. I need to make the towers and tie them into the hull . Tons more work!! I'll take pictures and upload them. kurt EDITING here ---- I am add a link to the finished work, incase any anyone wants to know. (OK 1 1/2 years later!!!) RTS Zavala kurt ----- end EDITING There are no detailed plans, all you can do is look pictures, and at the cross-section in my pirate vignette. The one who has the parts I need at the lowest price? Is this a trick question? kurt
  13. Thanks, glad you like them!
  14. Thanks, I am glad you like them. I spent time looking at every Passaic Class monitor picture I could find, and time at peeron trying to figure out how to do things, I filled a dozen pages in my Lego design notebook working out details. 70973 Belville Bucket See below. I am glad you like the cannons, a lot time in those too. Read the lugnet thread and follow some of the links to the real cannons. FYI: "As far as I know, the guns at Filipstad are the only ones of their kind left in the world today. And what guns they are. Two 15-inch, cast-iron, muzzle-loaded smoothbores
  15. Thanks, I am glad you like it! I really need to take new pictures of it after I move the formast forward, sometime... kurt Thanks, I am glad you like my ships. RTS LEGITOR was months of work, designing the cannons, figuring out the turret (which ofcoarse rotates), figuring out the hull . So I am glad you enjoy it. Messing around and taking pictures is a pain. kurt
