It really depends on the carried weight. I guess for really heavy things there is more neccessary than 3:1, or even 5:1.

When the diffs are locked, and only one wheel has grip, this is maybe not correct.

iam working on a RC version. The speed is good for a short time but after 2 or 3 minutes of braking and accelerating the white CaDA battery Box is shutting off. The actual setup contains 2 CaDA buggies, slow output and a 5.5:1 reduction. I should switch back to 9.25:1 to reduce the strain of the box, or do you think a buggy less would do it better?

Why limiting yourself by limiting to the use of one system. I have seen the prototype last year in Nuremberg and the prototype has looked good with them. You forget this is a licenced model, and building with licence makes it harder to fit the look. Using a piece which is nearly as thick than the original piece, is not ok when you are building 8 times smaller.
