Next Update I have Build the front stabilizers added it to the Crane. 55 studs wide And i have modified the first boom to get more degrees of moving. please compare "old" more power "new" more moving range and i shrinked the width on the mainboom from mostly seven studs to mostly 5 studs. i hope you can see the difference. "old" "new" -

Brickend, no offence but my opinion about the 8110 crane is based on 19 years building Cranes in real life and so my leveling rule is maybe a little bit higher than them of other people.i know that TLG will never offer a crane that is in my eyes perfect. but the minimum requirement should be that the end of the crane can touch the ground without problems. At this time iam not sure if it can touch the ground. The 8110 is surely a gourgeous model with great ideas, and good to play for kids,if they could pay the price. in august i purchase it, build it and then i will modify it to the point that it satisfy me. not more not less. And then i use the tires for some big things -

The cylinders are moving/tilting the third boom. i make some closeups from the flyjib alone, that you could it see better edit: -

Thanks for your praise guys. i have a little progress for you The fly-jib is removable and the crane is above the turntables more or less in the final version. Only the pneumatic hoses must find their place and the way to my home -

Thanks Milan. The folding ability of a knuckleboom crane is a minimum requirement for me. it must be nearly like the real thing. Sorry TLG, but in this point the crane of the 8110 is a joke. i differentiate in following classes. minimum folding ability but very powerful Picture source full folding, most used crane in real life Picture source extraordinary, very strong and huge and to heavy for normal trucks picture source -

you need a bottle, two hoses and a compressor. both hoses goes through the cap.fill the bottle with water, one of the hoses ends at the bottom of the bottle, the other one, which comes from the compressor, ends directly under the cap. , start the compressor and you should make your environment wet. -

thanks maybe i am full of ideas, but mostly myself is not satisfied with my projects. And to have so many ideas could get into a curse. I am building on a moc, have a new idea and begin with something complete different. Currently are 6 unfinished Mocs (U2450, Scania, Baja bug, Rennpritsche, Trophy truck, Little unimog) lying around me and hoping for finishing. the red Baja bug in the first crane picture is one of them. having problems with the shape of the roof is enough to pause the building process. i admire the guys which could finish their mocs in a straight row. -

thanks. I think in the borders of lego it is strong enough. to get it more stable i must use this Setup (first and second boom in one line) but this would not be the right for a mog. A real crane in this class would kill it with its weight this concept is more something for my Scania -

Hi Guys, i have some wip pics from the crane for you. it fits on trucks with a width of 25 studs. The second Boom is not final. the connection between first and second boom is twisting under the weight (350grams) of the bug. -
full agree. It is not funny to combine cylinders to could build something lovely massive like this Thanks for the new pictures. Based on the Pics i will not purchase one of this mog. I want buy minimum three of them to could build a huge 8x4 Truck. Alone the Tires are a big reason and i think i can see a new white part (portal Hub?)on the front axle. but i have one critic point. that knuckleboom crane on the u400 is not able to folding complete and will have problems to touch the ground with its Claw. the tlg designers should visit Effer or Palfinger to learn how a real crane works. ok, i have enough parts correct. i cant nothing read from a wormgear. only gearbox and portalhubs? a missunderstanding from a unknowing Reporter? it is written from a Portal Axle ok this will be expensive. the article says that the price for the 8110 will be at 190€ there is a e-mail adress to get more pics: bilddaten@LEGO.com i will try my luck

well, i like the crane and its slewing mechanism, but i think robolegoenthusiast should use the name of the manufacturer "Hiab". Only Hiab mounts the second Cylinder on the side of the Mainboom and in line with the second Boom. The following crane is one of the smaller hiab Cranes but the concept is good to see. Picture source
