Minifig Lecturer

I love real cities! Cities that are noisy, busy and messy, and not perfect, with many problems such as poor housing, traffic jams, bad planning, good planning, old buildings, new buildings, ramphant commercialism and so on. This is the kind of city/nation I am trying to create because this is what I love.

I think an okay way to integrate castle/carribean sets with a modern town is to split them by water and if desired create a bridge between the two. The overall result can make the castle/carribean sets look like rural countryside outside the city and not look stupid. Well I am trying this at the moment, I have improvements to make, I will post a couple of updated pics soon.

I think the building is minifig scale just very big and realistic. Realistic is a compliment in my opinion but the because it is big it would make the TLC sets look a bit small and crap and unrealistic, which is what they usually are. The fire engine is again more accurate but I prefer traditional sized cars (Because they fit on the streets better and are lower than TLC buildings) The fire engine I would consider to be closer to human-scale, i.e. more than more person (lego) can fit in the front seat. Now obviously a real person cant so "human-scale" isnt the best label but you know what I mean I think. The only thing on the building I would remove in the basketball hoop as I think it looks too big and firemen shouldnt be playing it while at work :-D But in the US perhaps it is a regular feature, although sometimes I dont like realistic things:-) Anyway, in summary, good job, keeping making similar buildings. Btw what is a HO scale train?

I think you need more roads, some more bricks perhaps and maybe trees if it is possible. What happened the second corner and straight baseplates? Did you get some of this lego second hand or has some been lost? I also think the pink paradisa set isnt great - just the colour doesnt fit in well in a town - i mean most 'normal' 8-

This is obviously designed to make some muslims throughout the world hate Denmark more following the recent Muhamed cartoons thing. You know the weirdos who went crazy? Someone is just poking fun at them and making them go more crazy. *sad* Of course most muslims dont care. Personally i have no problem with the picture but the text is probably malicious and meant to hurt although some would say its a type of humour. I could see it being funny to some people. Many people dont care about religion and think the people who get all upset about religion and these things are idiots. I usually think something like this. Many people in the Middle East boycotted all danish goods and shops threw out their products over the Muhamed cartoons. Im sure Lego were effected and Im sure they will be more if Asians from the region see this. But i have little love for Lego corp.

Has anybody ever tried to manufacture their own lego bricks using a metal mould and melted plastic? Or something similar. I always wished I could do it. Although I am too lazy to try :'-(

No they will cos I have bad feeling :'-( well maybe you can buy cheaper ones on ebay in future even if they change *sad*

ZCerberus :'-( Your pictures or at least some of them are in .BMP format so they are very big and slow to view. You should change them to .JPG or .PNG and they'll be alot smaller and easier to view. PNG has same quality as BMP.

Hi alex54 This story is really good. And your city gets bigger all the time. The only thing I would recommend you could do is buy more road plates before you buy more buildings. This is because I think it would be best if you have quite a few more of the dark grey/green roads before LEGO decides again to change the design. Personally I have found integrating new roads is a pain :'-( :'-( :'-(
