I had no intention of buying this set, but since I got it for my birthday, I have a few comments. The design may be crappy seen with AFOL eyes, but IMO it's probably not seen like that through the eyes of the intended buyers (kids). It's huge and has several cool playable effects. 1. The side guns 2. The opening cockpit/bridge 3. The compartment for tools and loudhailers (SW blasters, just in case Jar Jar comes by) 4. The rear engines 5. All directions movement (though not working perfectly, I agree) 6. Front gun 7. Air intakes that turn when the craft changes direction. I think this set is highly appreciated by kids wanting to bring some havoc to their LEGO town. - Imagine a hovercraft smashing through the city to fight fires a.k.a the scenes in 007.... Also with some modifications of colour and armament this could become a serious crime fighting vessel *y* Kids evaluation 7.5/10 AFOl evaluation 5/10 - there are some useful bricks in this set and like Exo-Champ said... The base can be used for a cool Exo Hover Tank MOC-thingy *wub* And hey! it might even come in handy when modding the great new space theme into something even better ;-) KimT

Thx Guys :-$ The day was perfect. I got several good presents among those a DAB radio and a sleeping bag. But most important I got 2 of the new exo-force sets from Morten and the Fire Fighter Hovercraftthingy frommy big brother. The day ran as most birthdays do with hot chocolate and loads of candy and cake *wub* . KimT "Ruuuun! it's the LEGO guard dogs of Windsor" "Arghh Arghh Arghh" "Oh wait - they're not that fast"

What do You mean? No aliens in Armageddon (yes that's how it's spelled ;-) ) So?!? There's aliens in this LEGO theme - it's not the same thing. KimT "We win Gracie"

I am soo getting this mech...now to find it in Denmark :-X KimT

Actually most stores in Denmark still has Viking sets. Perhaps the first wave sold well, then TLC upped the production and now they can't get rid of them. Most are on sale up to 50% off. |-/ I seriously hope the they won't discontinue the theme, but it surely seems like they're cutting the losses with this great theme. As for Yoda's useless comment on discontinuing the LEGO Magazine, just remember that we NEVER had it in Denmark. |-/ |-/ |-/ KimT

Well You still can :-) Bricklink or even eBay has this set at a fair price. KimT

3/10 - some cool elements...hard to say with those blurry pics. Maybe I'll buy some of them...maybe not. It's still hard to say. If the figs are awesome and they change the entire colour scheme, well, then it's a different story X-D :-P ;-) "Neutral voting is not an option!" KimT

I must say this looks promising. I thought the january wave was not as great as earlier releases. The mechs were small and felt IMO like a desperate try to "milk the golden cow before it dies". But these new pics change that, mostly....only mostly. I can't understand what a seriously oversized tank with neon-green wheels has to do with the bridge or even the fight between humans and robots. The temple is a nice addition and also the new mech. But not the tank. Can anyone clarify what the point of the tank is? . I know there's a lot of more dedicated EF fans out there and if you know what the megablocks this tank is for, then please let me know? Other than that - I'm so getting these sets. Must shop harder and fill my EF collection to the rim again. KimT

Actually I bought the XT Starfigter quite cheap as well. It needs replacing of several white decal bricks. So it'll be a while before I post pics of that beauty. KimT NB Yes that is a TimeTwister...the time tunnelator....check my brickshelf for more X-D

Back in the eighties when they started releasing Light And Sound (L&S) sets, all I ever wanted was one of them. I never got any, so now that I've grown up, I went and bought me some on BL. This little review might even boost our morale towards the new Life On Mars or Mars Exploriens or whatever the new theme name is. The Magma Carrier is a quite cool set. The integration of the power supply (which is actually quite big for supporting two lights and one sound unit) is done very good. I also like the vehicle dragging the magma transport. It looks, well, like sort of a moon buggy IMO. And I fancy the use of those larger (and yet smaller) technic wheels for space cars. The minifig is a cross-breed between classic space and the later themes... Or something... I guess all there is to say is that it's cool *y* Unfortunately You only get one with this set. Finally a full view of the MC, the sound unit and the light-bridge KimT

Nice work. Love the piano player *wub* KimT

Seems like this new "power functions"-thingy on creator sets is either a motor or a sound (wheel/dinosaur). It looks like an infrared remote control... I can't wait to try it out... KimT
