Thanks for the post Brett. Welcome to Eurobricks!
Construction seems to be going good. The store is going to look great when it is done, esp. the floor. Our store always looked so dirty before the remodel because the floor was horrible.
The new store will be a mix of the old "Imagination Center" style stores with the new modern looking stores. We will still have the big models inside and a play area with large models outside. The store itself will be designed with the typical Lego Store yellow modern look but it will also feature a large brick that extends from inside the center of the store to the outside play area.
We have been told that Lego is no longer going to use the "Imagination Center" name. My store is not scheduled to have this name attached to it anymore. If your store gets remodeled the name will likely disappear as well.
Well I don't want to say too much about sales because I feel I should not talk about these issues on the Internet. I will say that anytime a store goes from 5,000sf to a 1,200sf tent selling only about 30% of the items you had in the larger store, sales will suffer. Thankfully it is just temporary and the store should recover most of the money when it re-opens.
Well it has its good and bad moments. We are also the only store in Downtown Disney that has the remodeling clause in our contract. McDonalds (right next door to us) has never been remodeled and it has been there as long (if not longer) than us.
No problem Brett. I will post updates here.
Hahaha, it is funny to hear that name on this forum. Have you ever worked with Brewer or did he do his training at your store. Just wondering.
