SpacerSteve Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) -MANTIS explore Spacer Steve is on the surface of Myderis gathering the waste awesomnium from the Pyrites. - -Just then the high whine of an Octan scooter fills the air. On it is an Octan official. - [spacer Steve] - Who exactly are you? [Percy] - Allow me tho introduce myself. My name is Percy and I am from the Octan peace and legal office. I am here to ask you and your MANTIS comrades to leave this planet peacfully. - [spacer Steve] - You are from Octan and you don't have any forces in the area to make me leave. [Percy] - Tee hee hee, I do have my Kawashita friend and he is very persuasive. He calls his Mech the Honor! - [Honor]- You will surrender or be taken for questioning and reprogramming. My Honor is bigger than yours! [spacer Steve] - MANTIS never surrenders! We fight until the end! - [Honor]- Just like pulling wings off a fly now be prepares to be squished like the bug you are. - [Percy]- Tee hee you should have surrendered. His honor is bigger than yours. [spacer Steve] Ha Ha! You should have never messed with us. [Honor] - Why is that? - [spacer Steve] - Because my associate Chogg just placed a gravity mine on your Honor! - [Honor /Percy] AHHHHHHHHHHH! LETS GET OUT OF HERE! - - [spacer Steve] - Chogg let them go and tell their leaders about their Honor. Lets get this Kawashita mech back to base for some reverse engineering. More views of the mechs. Exo suit for scale purpose. - - C&C welcome! Edited July 13, 2015 by SpacerSteve Quote
mrcp6d Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I really like that Kawashita mech! The dragon head flamethrower detail is oh so very Kawashita and the torso is simply some great LEGO work. Oh wait, this is a M.A.N.T.I.S build....? Quote
Mike S Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Nice mechs! I like how the Mantis mech looks like a bug but the Kawashita mech is the real eye candy here! Quote
Jody Meyer Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Kind of does look like shock wave, nice build great story Quote

It won't be a Kawashita mech much longer I think it will get Bugged out in a couple weeks. Quote
Garmadon Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Excellent job on that huge Kawashita mech, the colors and shaping on it are great, and I really like the trans-green hints Quote
NuckElBerg Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Awsome Kawashita mech! Really love all the details on it, such as the dragon head! Although, I am a bit disappointed that our employees would make rookie mistakes such as these... (Also, why would a mech with a visible pilot need a head? ) Quote
Big Sal Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Wow, incredible mechs! Love that dragon flamethrower, that was a really great touch! Quote

It might be a scanner of some kind. They might have just liked the way it looked. It was designed by KAwashita after all. Once MANTIS gets this thing reverse engineered it might make a little more sense. Edited July 13, 2015 by SpacerSteve Quote
Ferdinando Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 NPU for the threads used as the mech's shoulders! Quote
Aliencat Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Cool mechs, the shot looking up at the big mech is really well done. Quote
mccoyed Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 That Mech is so cool I don't even mind that it got destroyed! Also really like your figs and posing. Quote
aeralure Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Nice mecha! Loving the Kawashita mecha in particular. Quote
Kodan Black Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 That Kawashita mech is pretty much the coolest Lego mech I've ever seen. Quote
Commander Turtle Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 You should definitely be a Kawashita builder! Great use of the styling cues of the two companies between the mech designs. The only immediate way to improve this in my eyes would be to invest in a cheap light box, to really boost the photo quality. Not saying they're bad or anything, just room for improvement :) Quote
David FNJ Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Wow, that huge mech is just amazing! The small one too is excellent. Glad you used our new technology to take out the big one and do some reverse-engineering! Man...that mech is so boss.... Quote
Andrew JN Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Awesome mechs! The shaping and detailing on them are sweet! Quote
LordDan Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Wow, that Kawashita mech is amazing! Its shape and all its details look absolutely fantastic! However, I do not like the landscape at all. My first issue with it is it colors. It looks very messy and plain. I feel like having dark bley, the dark grey, light bless, black, and brown makes it look messy and not very appealing. Also the landscape looks unnatural, largely due to all the strait lines. These are especially noticeable where the color changes, with a strait line in the middle. These lines are less noticeable and don't look so unnatural when it is the same color. Also it looks unnatural when the landscape drops down by the height of a brick when around it the landscape has been dropping by the height of a plate. ( sorry if this is confusing but its hard to explain.) If lack of parts/ time is the issue, then i would recommend a smaller base with more detail. The current base is unnecessarily large and i think a smaller base would have worked better for this scene( a smaller base would also allow you to add more detail.) I'm sorry if this sounded too harsh, I just feel like the base drags down the overall quality of the build, which is a shame considering how awesome those mechs are! Quote
SpacerSteve Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 Thanks for all compliments and suggestions everybody. You should definitely be a Kawashita builder! Thanks but No I'm sorry if this sounded too harsh, I just feel like the base drags down the overall quality of the build, which is a shame considering how awesome those mechs are! Not too harsh at all. I kind of started running out of time on Sunday and the base was the last to be built so it was very rushed. Everything you mentioned is a good point though. Thanks for the honest criticism. Agree about the smaller base. Maybe could have spent more time on detail and maybe blended the transitions better. I'll keep this in mind for next week. Quote
