    [MOC] Rantanplan Diorama

Hello, this is a diorama that I designed for a friend. I´s based on the Lucky Luke comics by Morris. Unlike my other designs it´s digital and the building technique is very much different from my normal MOCs.
  2. I am back with another alternative model built out of adidas Superstar shoe (set 10282). This time it doesn't feature any stripes unlike my previous zebra. So let me introduce you my little doggie. I tried to build it as accurate and shaggy as possible out of available parts. I am mainly satisfied how body turned out. It widely uses SNOT techniques and studs go nicely all around it in regular rows. It also features basic posability - you can move its tail and turn its head. Adidas mark on its back is just little reference to original model of shoe and can be replaced with another plain white tile from donor set. Building instructions are available for sale at rebrickable.com

  4. Back in October, Lego launched a James Bond-themed contest on Ideas. I didn't initially plan on entering, but ultimately got an idea that I thought was original and interesting enough. I mostly did that because I wanted to challenge myself and to try to do something difficult, something I had never done before, and didn't care about winning a prize. So I came up with a Lego rendition of M's bulldog statue, seen in Skyfall and Spectre : Now, obviously this is the real version. Here's my build : I initially wanted to use slopes and curved slopes to shape the flag, but it didn't look really good, so I decided to use plates instead. The studs would help erase the stairway effect created by the different layers of plates, and create a generally smoother shape. Plus, it would make the distinction between the dog and the flag clearer. When I found out - much to my surprise - that I ended up being one of the two Runner Up Winners, I decided I couldn't let my entry stay a digital build only, so I made a few changes to the model, ordered the necessary parts, and built a physical copy of the MOC : Most of the changes are invisible : some parts that don't exist yet have been swapped for parts that do exist (like the 1x3 jumper in red, or the 1x1-1x1 bracket in white), there's been a few structural changes to make it easier to attach the head and the chest to the body, and I've added a small pedestal that showcases the MOC better, and more importantly that helps securing the arms (otherwise they'd only be attached to the body with a single stud, and could easily fall off). You can see how the MOC is built by checking the 3D model on Mecabricks, and if you want to build it yourself, you can get the parts list here.
  5. Grid STUDICA F4 Carrefour is a major town in Briolui. It has an underground network and big parks. And that´s why this area is important for the COAC war efforts. This area is closed to the dockyards, where FILACE troops are trying to stand against the RON attacks. The other end of the park limits with the favelas, where PLANTASEA troops also stand against the enemy. And the underground network is important, as NEW BRICKIKA infantry move to encircle the enemy. This image depicts a T corner, with a big park in the bottom. A restaurant, “The Bistro au Parc”, in the upper right and a hardware & tools shop, “Carrefour tools and more” in the upper left complete the scenery. There is also an underground entry gate. The initial combats left the street somehow damaged: no traffic lights, the park fences and gate broken and a mailbox in the middle of the lane. Also a tree was cut… 1 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr A lonely German shepherd with a camera on his back appears. An abandoned dog? No way! That´s an awful crime! Instead, he is searching for the enemy. The camera has a small transmitter so his handler can know what he sees. His excellent smell sense would make him sit to show the position of any explosive devices. 2 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The dog keeps on inspecting the area. 3 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr 4 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The handler and another soldier appears. The area should be secure for them. 5 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr A small section has taken the hardware & tools shop and goes to the roof. The dogs takes a rest and three soldiers will raise the alarm in case the enemy appears. The section leader gives instructions… -We must make our stronghold here. We must make sure the enemy can´t go through this area. We will fortify this building and prevent the enemy from getting to the underground network. As far as I know, the underground line here connects with the other side of the town, where our allies of Plantasea are defending in the favelas. I don´t remember the name of their unit…well, the enemy CANT ambush them from behind. We must also prevent the RON troops from ambushing New Brickika troops in the tunnel. -Sir, will we have any CAS? -Yes, the callsign is TIZONA. García and Fernández, you will inspect the restaurant and make it unusable for the enemy. Pérez and Hernández, you will see what we have in the warehouse and take advantage of what we have. The rest of us, let´s prepare for the defense… -Yes, Sir! 6 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr García and Fernández went to the restaurant. They entered by the door which was closer to the shop. Two lobsters were inside a cauldron, with a lot of kitchenware on the floor… -Hell, if we survive I can cook these lobsters. I went to MasterChef before entering the Army! -Haha! Good idea! 8 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr Pérez and Hernández inspected the warehouse and the main floor. A lot of interesting stuff was left after the evacuation. -Wow, this is the bloody treasure chest! -Yes, and the warehouse has sand, empty sandbags and what we need to make obstacles! 7 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr After working very hard, the building was fortified with sandbags, barbed wire and more. 9 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The underground gate was secured too. They could even build other obstacles and the dog stayed on the street and awaiting for the enemy. However, García and Fernández hadn´t left the restaurant, as it took a lot of time to secure the underground gate. 10 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The enemy appeared walking through the park and by the street. As instructed, the Erotema troops decided not open fire until the enemy were very close… 11 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr 12 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr 13 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr But the dog was the first to score. Maybe this dog is not the best friend of this man… 14 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr Making his buddy to leave towards the park. 15 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The Erotema troops, maybe more accurate than a drunken Jawa, took their first target. 16 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr But the enemy got closer… 17 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr From the other side of the street, García and Fernández tried to ambush the enemy. The gate had to be safe from the RON troops, as they could ambush COAC troops underground (New Brickika), or go behind the COAC lines (Plantasea). 18 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr The RON troops tried to return fire. 19 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr And knowing the gate had to be taken to escape and ambush COAC troops inside the underground network, they tried to swarm it… 20 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr But the death buzz of a PICARÓN CAS aircraft, callsign TIZONA, en route to help the Plighian allies, was heared. 21 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr And that plane really scored…a lot. 4 .50 machine guns give a powerful punch. Really, a very powerful punch. And the next enemy would have to face 12 125-kg bombs and 6 anti-tank missiles… The only surviving RON soldier tried to escape…running for his life. 22 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr 23 by green helmet spanish AFOL, en Flickr

    [MOC] Basset Hound

I've made this basset hound as a present for a girl. I really enjoyed the building. The most challenging part was its head with the large chops and coat. Moreover, the body is too simple compared to the head and maybe it isn't properly scaled. A more detailed body wasn't my goal. The only purpose was to build quickly something which is instatly recognizeable by her. Althought it isn't perfect, I think it's a fun model and it was a pleasure to build something small and new. I'm happy to read your thoughts below. :)

    Review - 41112 Party Cakes

Pugs! Aren't they cute? Even if you disagree, the Friends subtheme Party has a lot to offer. In my first EuroBricks review I will cover 41112 Party Cakes so without further ado, let's begin. Overview Name: 41112 Party Cakes Theme: LEGO System / Friends Year: 2016 (1H) Pieces: 50 Minidolls: 0 Price: USD 4.99 / EUR 4.99 / GBP 3.99 / SGD 7.90 / MYR 19.90 Resources: Brickset, Bricklink Introduction This is my very first EuroBricks review and I would like to start with a very small set that caught my attention due to its numerous appealing factors. Apart from cuteness this set offers common elements found in Friends Party subtheme such as gifts, confectionaries, balloons and pets. There are several new prints and mould colours which makes this set very valuable to collectors and MOCers alike. The main attraction here is the new pug but there is more to this set than just the dog. To know more about this set continue reading on. Front view of the box It is a very small set so only the front of the box has something interesting to show. Box content You get an instruction booklet, 2 plastic bags without numbers and 1 plate round corner 6 x 6 which appears in bright yellowish green (BL: lime) for the first time in 2016. Instruction booklet Let's jump immediately at the back to see the parts listing and see other Friends Party subtheme sets. 41112 is the smallest in this wave with only 50 pieces. At the back of the instruction booklet there is a list of other Friends set currently available in the market, too Let's Build The Pug The star of this set is the pug named Toffee. It is a new mould exclusive to this set at the time of this review and it also sports a new party hat colour in medium azure. Its face is not very cartoonish when compared to the other LEGO Friends dogs or puppies that came out previously. It helps that in real life pugs do have large heads so when you put them next to other LEGO system dogs like the German Shepherd and Chihuahua it does not look far from the actual scale. Small build #1 (gift) This tiny gift box has a new colour of wall double corner / panel 1 x 2 x 1 part. Previously it only appeared in medium azure colour but in 2016 it debut in a number of sets, including 41122, in bright reddish violet (BL: magenta). The gift box cover is also a new printed inverted tile 2 x 2 in new colour - flame yellowish orange (BL: bright light orange). One might complain that the inverted tile 2 x 2 is very loose because the panels do not give any clutch power whatsoever to the inverted tile. However, I would think this is intentional because this kind of build is repeated across multiple Friends sets released this year so far. Small build #2 (table) As the subtheme is about party and the name of this set is Party Cakes it is expected that you are immediately presented with a table with a plateful of cake, pastry, strawberry flavour beverage and party invite. The new invitation printed tile in aqua (BL: light aqua) is a welcome addition and I appreciate the fact that it did not specify any event because it makes this part more reusable for other purposes. Small build #3 (baking area) A lot of details are included in this vignette using Plate Round Corner 6 x 6 that appears in bright yellowish green (BL: lime) for the first time. This vignette appears to be a small area with oven for making more party cakes. We get a milk carton 1x1 printed brick and what appears to be a sugar/sweetener in a cone container. There is also a platform where you can put Toffee the pug to guard whatever is currently baking so that no naughty boy or girl can spoil it before the party. Lastly, we also have a balloon in medium azure! To me, the highlight of this small build is the new colour of round 2 x 2 dome bottom. Yes, yet another new coloured part and that's why I am so happy getting this little set. The balloon build is rounder using this bottom piece and I personally prefer this compared with the old construction using 2 dome tops because the older balloons look elongated. New balloon (top and bottom dome) vs old balloon build (2x top domes) Definitely rounder and with less distracting holes at the sides. New parts summary Here is the recap of the new parts / new parts colours. Extra pieces For a small set it has a lot of extra pieces. You can make another cupcake out of these extra pieces if you want to. Conclusion Finally, let's take a look at the final build with all the small builds combined: To conclude, I had fun building this little set because not only you get a new pug mould but also because you get a lot of new parts and extra pieces. Apart from the pug, the medium azure balloon parts also contributed to its appeal because it is not common. I don't mind not having a minidoll in this little set because the pug is the star of this set. However, kids may need a minidoll to enjoy the play features if they want someone operating the oven. Overall, it is a great value and one more reason why you should look at Friends theme even if you don't have interest in minidolls. Summary review Playability: 7/10 - fun little set but kids may want a minidoll to organise the party Design / Building Experience: 8/10 - I appreciate the little details and new parts and new prints Price / Value for money: 9/10 - great deal to get a new dog mould in a cheap set; new parts are just bonus Overall: 8/10 - I would prefer less 'sweets' and 1 more balloon to make this set even better Thank you very much and I hope you like this small set review. :) Note: The original review was written on 14 February 2016 in EB Reviewers Academy. Some of the statements written here could be outdated already.

    [MOC] Battle Beast

Hello. When I started this MOC I didn'n know if it will be a wolf, a wargo, a dog or a lizzard. I know it could be better but It's the first time I build an animal so I'm satisfied with the final result. When I finished the beast i found that I don't have a minifig that matches the model so I've improvised with the rider. This is the result. [LDD MOC] Exo-Hound

I welcome you all to my second insanely over-greebled mech, this time with a more System based build and a twist! It's a common problem in high-tech planetary exploration admittedly, and one that I feel has not been addressed adequately. You are usually out on patrol on an alien planet, while all the time your thoughts are with your best friend. But now you needn't worry with the EXO-HOUND, the only Exo-Suit tailored for dog use with it's dog-like design and pet-friendly controls! Now you needn't leave your faithful friend whenever you need to wander foreign star systems, he or she can now come explore with you! LEGO Mecha/Hardsuit - Exo-Hound by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The LDD file for this build can be downloaded using this link. You are welcome to build your own version using this, but beware that some colour-part combos don't exist. I hope you enjoyed this rather unusual looking hardsuit Comments are welcome!
  14. THERE IS NO DANA, ONLY ZUUL! Presenting to you just a 'quicky'. Zuul, the hellhound from 80's movie Ghostbusters. Yes, I'm a bit of a GB-coattailrider here but it happens that GB belongs to my top 10 best 80's movie-list. :) I was inspired by masterbuilders Wet Wired and Sergio and their awesome Ghostbusters-builds but couldn't wait for them to build Zuul (let alone wait for THE Ecto1 to hit the stores...) so I build my own in the bricks that I have. Grey. Ofcourse it (probably) should be in a nice earth and olive green right...? Well, the Gargoyl out of what this beast emerged is grey, so I'm kinda safe... What else is there to say... Oh yeah, I used the newish Chima Legend beasts build-methods with the balljoints, and really made it my own. That was a fun challenge! :) Enjoy! Next to the GB-minifig and my Ecto1 it is kinda huge. A bit larger than the extralarge dog from the movies, but ofcourse Lego is a material of compromises. I agree that the body could use a little bit more mass... It'll just has to do, for now... Run little GB, Run like the wind! ...and try not to cross your beams... (my Ecto1 can be found here...)

    [MOC] Inspector Gadget

Here is a little LEGO set about the animated TV show Inspector Gadget from the 1983. I have also created a CUUSOO project about it - http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/57177 These are some of the characters from the series. Here Inspector Gadgets van is transformed into a policecar. This is Dr Claws flying ship and Inspector Gadgets van. .
  16. Hello everybody! It's been a while that I haven't created a MOC, but I finally got back to creating something just for fun, not work related. I didn't always loved pugs, but since I had the chance to play and hang with some of friends little funny pets, I just completely fell for them. Now, they are one of my favorite dogs! So, it only made sense to create my own little pug out of LEGO, so I can have him by my desk at work, inspiring me everyday! :) You can check more photos of the model on my flickr account, here.
  17. This is a fun little experiment of mine that I've been working on for quite a while. Anyone remember the BIONICLE Master Builder Set? Well, I've been exploring the possibility of something similar based on the Hero Factory building system. So far, I've come up with seven models that can be built from seventy-seven pieces. All images link to Flickr: Dog: Monkey: Hawk: Kangaroo: Turtle: Gorilla: Raptor: Each of these models contains between twenty and thirty pieces. The only piece that I used that does not already appear in sets in the correct color is a black rubber whip (61975) which I used for the monkey's tail. Inventory: Anyone think this merits a LEGO Cuusoo proposal? Or is it too much of a long shot?
