  1. 1) 32. SirNadroj - The Pillaging of Neptune's Noggin Lagoon

    2) 26. Chrispockster - The Treasure of Indigo Isle

    3) 14. Paul cantu - The Raid on the Governor's Mansion

Again, I had to go with myself because this MOC is my largest to date, and I can understand how much time (and money) went into since because I did, in fact, build it. :pir-tongue: It's a decision I don't take lightly.

The other two were nice, and had many details I enjoyed.

(Thanks to you guys who voted for me! :pir-blush: )

Good luck everyone - this has been a fun contest, and thanks to our hosts!

  2. The solution to the forum problem is simple - we'll display it in both forums! That way it'll get the maximum amount exposure.

Lets leave it here for now and when we frontpage it on Classic-Pirates.com we'll move it to the Pirate forum.

    An estimable solution Mister Phes.

Yup, sounds good to me!

  3. Very nice job with this, especially in capturing the shape of the ship. The tan stripe is a neat addition, and adds a lot to the general look, I think. You've also done a good job with the rigging, and makes the lack of sails less noticeable.

The only thing that looks off to me is the mast protruding from the front of the ship (sorry, I don't know the correct name offhand) seems too long to me. I believe it would look much more proportionate if you were to shorten it a bit.

Is there a particular reason why you wanted this in the History and Adventure section instead of Pirates? While this isn't necessarily a pirate creation, I think it would fit better in that section.

    Thanks!

A couple other people said it looked too long, also. (I think it's called a bowsprit). I had lots of reference, and that's how it looked, so that's what I went with.

I thought this would certainly fit better here than the pirates forum - I wouldn't call the Sons of Liberty pirates!

  4. So... that peculiar host of ours said something about trying to figure out what happened last night. Seemed kind of odd, didn't it? It's like he thinks this whole situation is a game. And who is he, a relative of Chester or maybe connected to that 'Guardian' that Chester was so scared of?

I don't trust the dude. I'm keeping my distance. :look:

  5. I´ve bought lots of stuff at KB when I´ve been in the states, in 2004 I cleaned out the KB´s in Las Vegas on 7201 Final Duel II´s !

    CopMike

Me too! (Well, not in Nevada).

They have filed for bankruptcy three or four times by now... They seem to do it every year. :sceptic:

    Seems that way....

  6. 1) 16. SirNadroj - Quartering The Quartermasters

    2) 9. Majek - There will be "Bang"

    3) 22. Paul cantu - Prison break!

Honestly, I feel like a skunk voting for myself, but in all modesty, my vote choices are honest (in my opinon, of course). :pir-wink: I don't want to lie, then regret my choices. Hopefully the option of voting for oneself will be abolished in other contests, to completly bar that crushing urge.

Majek got my vote for second because the concept was original, but also because of the name. Obviously a parody of There Will Be Blood (I assume! :pir-laugh: )

Paul Cantu's was great too. Lots of fun details.

  7. I don't mean to complain, but exactly why can't normal people enter? This seems like great fun, but it boggles me why it would be restricted to just the small minority.

It's my understanding that this is to be a special holiday "treat" for mods, admins and fellows. You can, of course, provide feedback on the racers, just not enter. Plus there are no prizes.

There are always many contests going on here at EB. I'd suggest checking out the "Decorating a Train Car" contest, for some holiday fun: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23729

In the mean time, I wouldn't complain. TheBrickster probably won't change his mind. Perhaps he can elighten you on this issue (if it would even be referred to as an "issue".)

  8. H.M.B. The Economy

(His Majesty's Box) The Economy is made of a semi-stable cardboard box (because that's all I could afford). The Economy goes downhill at breakneck speeds, leaving a wake of destruction in its path. You don't want to have anything to do with The Economy.

    Look out below!

  9. And you said that they didn't come out on Flickr!

No need for an angry emoticon; you learn something new every day.

Is the top head thoroughly fixed onto a part, or is it just resting on something; meaning is clayface suitable or not for some actual play? Very nifty.

    No, it just rests there.

Well done SirNadroj, did you get the idea of a post of mine? I thought the same thing!

Hm? I don't know what post you are referring to, but Chuck suggested it to me while we chatted.
