  1. Thanks for the review.

This is one of my favorite space sets of all time. I even had 2 of them back in the days.

My only complain about this set was that I found that the wheels where too small , I had some trouble passing the rover over the little "craters-mountains" of the space plates

  2. The switch fighter is pure genius ! a definitive buy for me. *y*

On the contrary , nothing to write home about the small mining unit. Looks like a 6 years old children home made moc... *wacko*

  3. Hello,

To gain some place in my collection room, I'm thinking of hanging some 'aerial' sets (mostly technic) to the ceiling.

If you have any experience in such montage I'll be happy to hear from you. I really don't know how to make this :

    - Sturdy

    AND

    - (very) discreet

I don't want to have a lot of heavy duty screws & hooks in my ceiling, if you know what I mean. :-/

    Thanks in advance! :-)

  4. As I already said , These are wayyy better than previous year !

    I'm gonna get them all.

TLC has made a good job on using more standard pieces.

I just hope that the tanks and the flying thingy are not too expensive.

  5. Haaaa! the Exo-Force sets re conciliate me with the serie ! *wub*

They look way better than the previous line.

I'm a little disappointed by the Technic serie though. Nothing really exciting here. :-/

Let's just hope that they'll continue with the Life on mars theme too.

  6. i work in brussels but i haven't found the time to look for toy shops/lego. to my knoledge, Brussels has always been the worst part of Belgium in getting lego sets and catalogues rather late, compared to Flanders and the Walloon provinces.

still, mutex should have some idea. He lives in that area

I live in brussels and as said Snefroe, it's really not a good spot to grab Lego sets. There are not a lot of shops, only general toys shop that generally have more Playmobil than Lego *wacko*

Prices are also quite high, in part with the official price if not more expensive.

There are some shops that come in my mind like "Jouets Broze" or "Dreamland" and also "Intertoys" those one have perhaps the best assortment of sets, but REALLY not worth a detour.

Sometime there are good deals to make in "Colruyt" shops , but this is a general food store that have some toys and Lego sets.

  7. No words are needed to understand that this set is just perfect.

This is really a nice catch Snefroe. I'd love that all my old classic sets would

be in such a nice condition.

My old space sets are full of teeth dents, but since those are MY teeth marks when I was young, I have no problems with that :D

Ho ! and by the way Snefroe... Mars mission are not THAT horrible... ;-)

  8. This set is truely incredible, a must have.

BUT this set is also incredibly overpriced *n* ! Com' on it's only a big vehicle , nothing really special to justify the near 100

  9. Hello all.

I updated my website to propose stickers scans of my sets.

Unfortunately I only began to scan some months ago, so stickers that are on my "old" models can't make it to my database anymore. 8-|

Here you can maybe help me. If you have some high resolution scans (600 dpi for example) of original stickers sheet I'll be glad to add them.

Here you can see some examples of stickers sheets of my exo force collection (complete):

    Exo Force collection list

    and another here :

    Misc Lego sets list

Thanks in advance for your help *y*

Got this baby via shop@home a little early and I though it was time to post my view of this set :

(Snefroe you NEED to get this one ;-) )

Sorry for the lack of pics but there are already many pics online of this baby

    So here it is :

Best space set since... a way too long time

This is my first new space themed set since more than 20 years and I must say that I’m not disappointed at all. I have much to say about this little gem.

First, let’s cut it straight about the Martians minifigures: they are absolutely rubbish. I can’t imagine how Lego could produce such atrocity.

This said; let’s move on to the dropship. A real piece of art. Reminiscent of the Aliens movie dropship. The cockpit is spacious and provides a great field of view, too bad there is no hinges to open it, you must remove the canopy completely to switch pilot.

The drilling unit can be attached under the ship with the clever use of a rubber piece. It stays well in place once attached, good point.

Some people don’t like the inclusion of the 2 containment area for the Martians and crystal on both side of the ship but I kind like it, it makes the ship less empty.

The 2 wings are complete with air intake, some armaments and 1 standard launcher on the right wing. Normally I don’t like launchers but this one is very discrete and well integrated.

On the tail section are 2 thrusters that can be rotated and provide thus some “realistic” movements to the ship.

One of the last highlight of this ship is the landing gears, or I must say landing dishes. 6 medium sized radar dishes provide and incredible stability to the set. They are quite sturdy and can take a beating.

I’m not going to review the alien spaceship in detail since it’s quite uninteresting. I consider it more like a bonus addition to the set than anything else. The look is passable and there are some interesting building techniques in it. That’s all.

To end the review, a little pros/cons table. (We all love pros/cons table :-) )

    Pros:

    - Incredible design

    - At last a decent space set

    - Modular functions

    - Quite Sturdy

    - Beautiful

    - Great value for money

    Cons:

    - Martians are rubbish

    - No hinges for the canopy

    - The drilling unit could use some more details.

    Score: 9/10

By the way , I added a nice cool feature on my site , you can download the stickers for some sets that I own.

Before building I always scan the stickers, we never know it could come handy.

check this out on my site (you need to go in the Lego lists on the left):

    [VTX] Classic games

  11. Nice collection! There are quite a few classic space sets there, right? Anyways, I like your collection.

Yep, most of my classic space sets are the one from my childhood that I rebuild some months ago.

What is not showing in my room are the sets that I put on display in my living room (big technic sets) and everything that is Lego City and trains (in re-building phase too).

  12. Hello,

Since I made some changes to my Collection room , I was thinking it's time to post a message about it

So here is my updated room :

    Mutex Collection room

You can check my site to browse all my current Lego sets.

My room is also about old video games but Lego take more and more importance as time passes on :'-)

I hope you envoy this little virtual visit.

Lego classic Space & Technic freak ! (And Exo-Force but the incoming sets are a no-no for me since they are ugly and uninteresting :-| )

  13. Ho my god it's such an horrible set ! *n* *n*

Now look at this, flimsy legs for both mechs, the spider thing looks not very poseable or well articulated.

Looks realy like an amateur job.

I guess I'm gonna stop collecting Exo-Force very soon if Lego don't make an effort.

This set is the ugliest an uninteresting Exo-force set ever. *sing*

And don't start me about the most stupid name ever... *wacko*

And this is from the mouth a a true Exo-Force fan.
