Thanks for the review. As a great Exo-force Fan, I'm not too enthusiastic with the second 2007 batch (aero booster / mobile devastator / golden tower). Lego goes too much in the "oversized" sets those last 2 years. Good design, good playability but a lot of empty spaces :-/ . And it becomes a problems for the collectors like me : I have no more room to store those huge sets. Think about Striking venom, mobile defense tank, Sentai fortress... I guess I'll skip the mobile devastator mainly for this reason. But I might consider acquiring it at half price during a sale somewhere, just for the sake of completing a little my collection :-P

Looks pretty bland and boring to put together. I'm sure no one here have fun building 20 times the same module. The overall look and proportion are well respected though, but I'm sure that with Technic beams (studded or studless) they would have achieved a better looking and probably less blocky result. Now I challenge Lego to put together an Atomium : Belgium pride on ! :-P

Nice little set, 2 or 3 like that is just perfect for patrolling with the dropship. I think that for 5

Thank you all of you :'-) Yeps that's a shame :-( But I'm not sad because my wife offered me..... an 10174 AT-ST UCS !!! I'm not specialy fond of star wars lego sets but this one is a beauty (and I love big robots). Another set that I would like to buy one day is the Y-Wing UCS.. but this one is a little more expensive.

This is definitely a MUST BUY. I love those landing gears and the general look is reminiscent of the "Aliens" Dropship, which is a good thing. Now as I said in the trike review, since tomorrow is my birthday, you can send me the set by post ;-) :-D

I'm REALY disapointed, I't more than 10 minutes now and STILL no dropship review !!! :-P X-D :-D As Snefroe said : "Work faster slave" X-D And think of me : Tomorrow is my birthday, as soon as the review is finished , you can send me the dropship. I want this baby badly :-D

Thanks for this review ! It's always nice to see a space review. As expected the aliens are crap, so I'm not commenting on this. I must say the set seems to follow the rule "Bigger but emptier". This is especially true in comparison of the older trike set. The trans orange theme is kinda cool. Too bad that they are no oxygen tanks on the back of the minifig *n*. I have some questions : - Where did you find this set this early (I think they are due during the August month ?) 8-

Hello all two (stupid) questions : - When will the Life on Mars theme will be released here in Europe (In Belgium more precisely)? - Have we the official prices in Euro yet ? thanks :-)

Nice ! realy impressive work *wub* Too bad It's not the blacktron 1 Color scheme (Black + Gold/Yellow). I never quite liked the Blacktron 2 green trans.

I remarked this trend for some years too. Sets quality are going up and plastic quality and molds precision are going down. I can't blame Lego to get their head out of the water financially, but this is a subject we can't ignore. The other trend I remarked is this one : Big models, impressive boxes but more and more big pieces, this left me with the impression of "Bigger but emptier models" my final thoughts : - Models : ^^ - Pieces quality :V (getting worse and worse with the years) - Bigger models : ^ - Pieces count : kind of ^ - Juniorization V - Price : more or less stable In conclusion it's a good result, but what Lego was all about since the start is good piece quality. Let's not loose this point, even at the expense of some other trends.

the set is cool but the headlights are quite goofy, it looks like tinny eyes or something :-X But otherwise it's a great model.

What other colours would you want lego bricks in?
mutex replied to Optimax X's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I second that ! We desperately need old gray. I have nothing against bley but replacing a color by another is terrible. So we need Bley AND old gray. *y* -
I voted for Cetus-01 because I find the greebles cool, and the spaceship has a true "space feel". The Homba is cool too but I find it a little disproportioned and lacks details.

Technic GBC MOC: Track Wheel Reservoir
mutex replied to Brickthus's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very interesting design! You must had a lot of fun building this thing. Now , I'm more and more impatient of finishing must old lego so I can put myself to work building incredible contraptions like you. I'm just wondering how can I cheaply get this much amount of soccer balls ? -
I agree with you, not that great. the fact that people love this set is probably because it acquired a kind of cult status. No space collection can be complete without a galaxy explorer. It's a kind of icon, the start of the great space period for Lego. Also, the building technique is quite simple, and it probably help to get inspiration from that.

:-D This thread is awesome ! So many good ideas here and a lot of creativity. I love the "After a storm" version , simple yet very funny X-D We need a FABULAND or TECHNIC version :-P

A Little off topic but you should put your yellowed white pieces in bleach water. It really makes wonder. I put all my white pieces in bleach water for about a week (change bleach every 2 days), they come out whiter than white :-) like new This is no joke, it really works. *y* That was the tips of the day from mutex ;-)

Hello, I found this folder during a browsing session of old magazines scans : Galaxy commander classic space I suppose it's old and already posted but for the new people around here this is interesting *sweet*

Bought Exo force 8105 Iron Condor, that was my last of the 2007 mechas. Golden Guardian will be my next purchase :-)

Interesting to say the least. But... is it sturdy ? ;-)

Nice but it's a computer animation so it removes a little 'magic' from the result

Joystick Controls with new Power Function RC handsets
mutex replied to Brickthus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That's why I suggested a little movie of the control in action. Everything should be clearer -
C'est vraiment n'importe quoi cette thread !!!! :-P

Joystick Controls with new Power Function RC handsets
mutex replied to Brickthus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This seems very ingenious but maybe you should put a little movie of the controls in action so we can better appreciate the functionality. I must admit it's a little 'vitual' like that since nobody of us have touched the new IR control box. -
Ha ! I remember the paramedic unit, what a great set it was. I had tons of fun with it back then. I think I still have it somewhere in my huge pile of ancient bricks. Now I must find some time to rebuild it. But before that I have a lot of stuff to do in my (real) house. House + kids = no time for bricks ;-)
