Ha ha! That's one cool movie you've found there! I love the music and the stop motion, but the voices are probably the best part.

It's cliche if you want it to be. Lego is all about creativity. Never forget that you can just take a castle apart and re-fit it, even if the box ideas or storyline is not to your liking.
-
That's really awesome. I love everything about it, you've incorporated all the major Republic and CIS vehicles and more. Not to mention the foliage.
-
That's amazing! Every single one of these is great, especially that Makuta! The red armour looks perfect on him. It's like a fashion show!

I feel your MOC is great. It looks good, everything fits and uses rare pieces. However, this is also its downfall. I feel there aren't enough Bionicle pieces to go around, and more than enough chunky and system parts. I wouldn't change your MOC as it looks so good, but next MOC I'd watch the pieces I use.

It's really good. Everything fit well, it was a great song and even though I'm not a fan of ACDC or more recent Bionicle, you've convinced the audience about how bad-megablocks it really is. However, as Syaoran said above me, next time use transitions. If you can make the volume lower and higher in some spots to emphasize the action, that might be better as sometimes it felt there was no impact.

Nice figures, but the rest of the set looks kind of poor. Thank you for the good review though, you've convinced me to give this theme a try.

My first Castle set was most likely White Ninja, from 1999. 1269-1 White Ninja
-
True. I'm guessing we both grew up in different times then- but I will still agree that the 2009 sets, while nice, are flawed.
-
I absolutely adore the islanders, and went into a fit of rage once they weren't released in the 2009 line. My first pirates set was King Kahuka, which I found in a pawn shop in 2006, so Islanders mean quite a bit to me. Enough to want to buy the Enchanted Island- which in IMHO the best pirate set next to the first two ships (and the two new ones).

My new avatar. Do I need to give credit? -
Great idea! I already have one PoP set, and I don't think I'll be buying any more, though.

Such as the powers of JKR. Thee Ye Tee Hey Eye The Nothing like Tinnier Pussy, but hey, it's not bad.

Thanks for showing off your collection. It's really awesome, even though I don't know what half of it is yet. But my class starts the World Wars soon.

Thanks for the review! I was going to get Alamut (meaning I would have to save up) but I'm thinking of just getting this, which I can afford. But will I regret not saving up? Only time will tell!

What? EDIT: Sorry, just saw the news.

Happy Birthday Zorro! It's too bad we haven't met but... ah well, what can you do?

I don't think we were cheated at all. The new sets were, IMO, equal to if not better in some parts than the 1989 series. The 1989-1994 series was classic, but once 1995 hit I thought it was going downhill. Of course it was only three years of sets after 1994, but they were still mostly mediocre, no? I can't remember a single set from then other than the Red Beard Runner and the Armada Flagship, both of which I've heard alright reviews of. The 2009 pirates line was just as unforgettable- great impulses, nice cannon fighting set, a reinvention of the classic castaway's raft, a sweet island with a nice cannon boat, an excellent shipwreck, a nice soldier fort, and what I call the most unforgettable ship I've ever seen- the one I grew up with... the BB.

I agree with the fact that some of the torsos look goofy, but it was nothing like CW. It still had a nice rugged but fantasy piratey feel to it. -
Every now and then, LEGO does something that either results in a lot of love or a lot of hate. Many of these things are fantasy items added into pirates, such as the Skeleton Pirates of 1996, the Cannon Rowboat of 1989/2009, the Mermaid of 2009, or the volcanoes on tiny islands of 1995. What is your opinion on these elements? Do you love them, and wish to see more of them? Or, would you like to see less of them and more historical accuracy? You can give your opinion on the pirate sets, but no bluecoat/redcoat flaming please (unless it's in good fun! ) A poll would be nice, if someone could oblige?
-
The redcoats have had their own share of cannon-rowboat action, in the Loot Island set. What is everyone's opinion on Loot Island? I think it's fantastic- a nice new baseplate, awesome features and a cool castaway. Add that to the Imperial Fort and you've got a battle!
-
Don't stop there! One can't live on impulse sets alone! How about a Bluecoat Flagship?
-
Shame they don't have Desert Attack or Battle of Alamut, although I suppose it's not too far to drive to TRU for Americans. That's a cool video MantaMan. I love the part where Seso's just standing there and suddenly a Hassassin jumps out and shoots wrist blades...

Ah! An excellent idea. Looking forward to seeing what Eurobricks is going to do next month as well...

Thanks for the index, though I think the mermaid should be in there- if you wanted believability, you'd have to cut out a bunch of things in pirates: -Harbour Sentry "Cannon" Rowboat -Skeleton Pirates -Tiny Volcanos that stick out on tiny islands -The falling mast feature on the RBR -The old smiley faces -The awesome catapult on Loot Island And, as far as I know, no one wants any of these things removed from the classic and new sets.
