Was this during the show or after break down?
  2. I second both of these statements. I decided to sort all of my minifigs and minifig accessories yesterday. Terrible idea since it wasted a potential day of building. But at least now I know where all of my stuff is, at least for the time being. Like Polish Guy said, I can't wait to see everyone and enjoy all that Brickworld offers. But I'll still try to squeeze out one more building. I know Dale hates the brown bottom on my red building so I'll try and fix that.

    Stickers, I spit at thee!

I have mixed feelings about this. In my opinion stickers are the best way to go. There are a lot of parts where I would rather not have the sticker print applied since I need the piece for a MOC. If it were printed I would have to find a way to remove it. Stickers give the end user the ability to decide whether or not to apply the decal.
  4. I too am looking forward to Brickworld but I have a lot of work to get done. I am still working on building my Lego room then I have to unpack all of my stuff, sort a few boxes and I should be able to start building. Of course I waited until the end of May to start. Go Team Procrastination!

    Maersk Train Problems

The show we had at the end of April I ran my Maersk train which had two engines, each engine having one battery box and motor and 14 Maersk cars with 6x32 containers on each car. The batteries were from CostCo and the whole thing ran for only an hour. I had my speed setting on 4 until it started to slow down then bumped it up to 6. I ran into the same problem with the power drop on the 9V. The train kept dying in one corner. One remedy was to put an engine on the front and one on the back. It worked well. For my train, an extra motor would have helped as well.

    Sets with Coffee Machines

Looking at the back of the box for the new Petshop I noticed LEGO added a coffee maker and it reminded me of this topic.

    MOC: Container Terminal

As others have noted, you have also beat me to it. Mine is in the works to be ready for Brickworld. I'm still waiting on several Bricklink orders. But I did expand the length of my containers to match what would be standard in the US. Regardless, your MOC will serve as an inspiration for mine although I doubt I'll go with the Maresk blue.

    What did you buy today?

Enough bricks from Bricklink to add another 10 carriages and containers to my Maersk train!

    Maersk Train Problems

If you are missing parts then I would suggest calling Lego directly and they should be happy to fix that. As for the large walls, they aren't meant to be taken off and put back on regularly and even so it is Lego, you can easily put it back together. I believe there is more than enough clutch power to keep them snug against the rest of the train. I had the problem with the instructions too. Made me laugh but wasn't a big deal. I just looked at the next picture. I wouldn't call that a design flaw. Would you like to see the battery in plain view? Also, only one needs to be pulled up to turn the battery on and off and it is held down by two studs making it easy to take off and put back on. It is the first of the three closest to the front of the train.

    Maersk Train Arrives

I picked up one in store on Friday and had them order me two more while I was there. It shipped Friday night and I received it today! Interesting to note that the package came from Michigan rather than Kentucky/Tennessee (I can't remember) where it usually comes from.

    Naming companies in Lego City

I am a corporate sellout in my city. Not as big as some other members but I keep adding as well. So far I have: Shell Gas Station Ace Hardware Enterprise Rent-a-Car Marshall Fields (The modified Grand Emporium, it says it on the sidewalk)

Flexible or not, curves offend me

Here are some topics that already exist about ballasting track. That is your best bet for curves on baseplates. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44133&st=0&p=774622&hl=ballast&fromsearch=1entry774622 http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9629 Don't forget to check out the pinned Train Tech topic. That has loads of useful information.

    LEGO Cake.

I saw the topic title with your name next to it and thought it was the cake you got for your birthday. Either way it is still a pretty cool cake.

Exclusive Train 10219 Maersk Train (Exclusive 2011)

Agreed and also you can modify the containers from the Maersk ship and have a bunch of containers with stickers. Although I don't know how big those stickers are compared to this. I just bought the ship yesterday (in anticipation of the train) and don't plan on opening the ship for months.

    Lego Train Show?

Brickworld 2011 might be up your alley. It is in Wheeling, IL (north suburb of Chicago). June 16-19. There is usually a trains roundtable discussion and plenty of train layouts.
  20. The deciding factor is money and availability. I usually check both sites to see what would be cheaper for the quantity that I need. An example for me was 2x2 dark bley tile. I needed it for sidewalks on my brick build roads. Bricklink was actually more expensive than buying direct from Lego. So my advice would be to invest a little time by shopping around.

    Brickworld 2011 - Registration Open

I'm not listed on the site either. I think they update it manually so I'm not worried just yet. It has been over a week for me so I'll give it another week before I send an email.

    Review: 8404 Public Transport

I would have agreed with you since you mainly think Greyhound in the US but I used a large coach terminal in London last year so I think it fits in well. Plus, I might be biased since the bus is my favorite part of the set and the bus is "public transportation".

CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!

I love the updates. Especially the Redbox and Monster machines. Also, A+ work on the interior of the McDonalds.

    REVIEW: 10152 Maersk Sealand

I am not one to usually point this out but no one has done it yet. This is a review of the old Maersk ship and not the new one that was just released which is 10155 although I am reading that they are almost identical. Regardless, this was a good review and I would like to buy the new set but I don't know if I can justify the $120 price tag since I am reading that 10152 was $75 in the US. The ship is for the Maersk Company
