I just spoke with a Kmart assistant who tells me they have the Sydney Opera House 10234 out the back & are expecting more stock in the next week or so. They are $349. Perhaps gone are the days of the exclusives, as rumoured for a while now.

Has anyone used this service for buying larger numbers of parts, say around 100 of a particular piece? It could be an easier place to get all the parts I need for a MOC without having to use multiple bricklink sellers.

Are these both in store specials? Nothing on their website covering this special :(

    New LEGO Ninjago Fakes

I have just stumbled upon this eBay seller who has listed a whole bunch of blatant Ninjago Counterfeits. They are listed as Pre-Order so I wonder if we are about to be bombarded with a huge amount of Fake LEGO. I've reported this to eBay and about to do so to LEGO themselves, in the hope that something can be done. Hopefully there is someone here who can bring it to their attention sooner. http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Toys-Hobbies-/220/i.html?_uhb=1&item=181031820048&pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Building_Toys&hash=item2a26565b10&_ssn=nyesale

Wow, yeah I feel great that it had such an impact on you that you felt the need to call me a smartass, very classy! That's what I would lame & uncalled for! I looked at your link & it was quite obvious to me that they want to purchase old LEGO. A lot of people on Gumtree ask for old LEGO, whether for resale or to add to their collection, I think it's pretty obvious that since they are using their store name on the advertisement, that it would be for resale. I might point out that this is also a "Sales" topic, so someone looking at buying 2nd hand stuff on Gumtree hardly rates as a Sale! Just to stay on topic, I was told that ToysRus will receive more Opera Houses, however not in time for the end of their sale. I was also told that if you leave a full payment on one while the sale is on, you are covered. Not sure they are trustworthy enough with that though.

Looks pretty self explanatory to me :)

You say just about everyone has the Opera House, does that mean Target & K-Mart & BigW? Is it not exclusive to just one or two retailers?

    FirestarToys

Depends on what you are looking for, you could try www.minifigures.com.au. Similar kind of online store, just not as wide a range listed.

LEGO Minecraft at Big W? Since when? & EB Games list it as an "EB Exclusive" & have it listed at $78, nearly $30 more than RRP.

Why do people assume these are roughed up, or gone through by Scalpers? By now, I can just about guarantee every kid & their parents know how to feel for minifigures in these packs. I've been to a store in the past where there are 3 or 4 of us feeling for specific figures & none of them were grabbing hoards of any in particular. Simply put, people don't want to pay $5 for a random chance of getting different, or their figure of choice!
  14. That's an impressive list of collectables! I'd be interested in pretty much everything, although I would not be able to afford the lot. Have you got prices for each one that you could PM me with and I will see about releaving you of some of them

May the 4th Sales on S@H have ended for Aussies already. Not terribly fussed about the discounts myself, but it is a shame the order I was planning on putting through won't include a Han Hoth Polybag. I don't think I'll order now & hopefully we'll get the Russell Crowe polybag later in the month like the States do.

LEGO S@H specials are up, unfortunately Aussie's don't seem to get the 50% off the UCS B-Wing Starfighter like the US guys do, so we'll be paying $350 to their $100, at least for a couple of days. That I think sets a new record Most of the deals are 10 - 20% off.

They are only allowing orders of 1 now. I tried to buy 2 & by the time they went to process the order, they had sold out.

2013 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

There is a lot of people loving the bus but personally I don't get it. I don't think the bus looks good with the train doors at all & in my opinion, the yellow bus from City Corner is far superior to the red bus. Does anyone care to give a reason why they prefer the red bus over the yellow one from City Corner? I reckon they've put the crane in this set so that they don't have to run another contruction line for a while! I was a big fan of the construction line when I started getting back into LEGO, but realised it had a very short life because at some point the town needs to be completed!

2013 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Initial thoughts on the City Square were great, really vibrant, nice big set. But having a closer look, I see some design flaws, the one that stood out to me the most was on the Pizza Shop with the 2 x 3 slopes. They are only attached by 2 studs at the back, not very solid! You could argue the same for the 3 x 2 slopes on the side.

They all have different ways of dealing, but none of them tell the retailer how much they have to sell for. Apple offer an extremely low margin, somewhere around 3%. Retailers want Apple product not to make a lot of money on the hardware but on the accessories. Miele work in another way altogether by not giving the retailer any Margin. When you buy Miele, you infact are buying direct from them & the retailer is acting as an agent who then receives a commision from Miele. You will also notice that retailers are unable to offer any kind of incentive, discount or bonus with Miele to encourage a customer to buy from them. As for LEGO offering free shipping in return for selling at RRP, I somehow find that hard to believe & at least am fairly sure that is not entirely legal. Wholesalers will often give free to store delivery for orders over a particular value & a margin of around 40% I think is fairly common amongst most product categories when it comes to brand name products (not the 100%+ that many customers think).

I wouldn't hold your breath on them having a sale either. Toy sale time sure, but as you are probably aware, they went through a dramatic change a while ago with a new MD who has changed the way they operate & turned them back into making a profit. They have more of a Big W mentality now, so rarely have sales, just "Everyday Low Prices" & trading at all hours of the day. Target have regular sales as they are all Full RRP or more, so they need to do something if they are ever likely to attract customers.

Buying parts from the Customer service

    Nevermind, answered my own question..

Buying parts from the Customer service

The link shown is simply to acquire those parts that may be missing or broken from a set & are limited to the amount of pieces that are actually in the set. The items are sent free of charge, but I'm sure if you asked for a lot of parts they would question the order. Are you saying there is a way that getting in contact by telephone, the customer service team will in fact supply non Pick-a-Brick parts at a charge?

I find it incredible that companies will use the "Sorry, we are understaffed" line. Get More Staff then, don't make it your customers problem! I also don't understand why it can take 48hours for a response from online stores, if you walked into a shop, you'd be peeved if you had to wait 10 minutes for assistance, why is it acceptable to wait 48 hours between responses, especially when the first one rarely fixes the problem. More on Topic, finally picked up some S9 Minifigures today :D
