    Avatar: The Last Airbender

That was indeedone of the very best show I have ever seen on tv. But I do agree with people who only have seen some episode as well. To really appreciate the show, one has to see it whole. One episode on itself would be just average (except for the outstanding animation and choreography, as has already been pointed out) but storywise, it wouldn't make much sense, since it's only a chapter of the whole story. But it was fantastic right up to the end. There still were a few things that disappointed me a little, a few questions that don't really get answered but it's far from being enough to lower my opinion of it. And the depths of the characters were amazing. Even the minor ones were highly detailed. As for the film, I'm waiting to see. But I don't really expect much, as I can't quite imagine how they can cram the whole story inside of two hours and still keep its richness... Though I think I read somewhere it'd be a trilogy, but still...

    What did you buy today?

Finally got my first indy minifig. That is, I found the 7620 indy set, which I believe is the only one I'll get. I love the way they did the trucks and vehicles but for a lack of space and money, I'll stick to that one. That fedora is fantastic. Oh and I found Makuta Icarax, too. Rather good one, once I modified his right arm with a proper one and gave him better hands which actually look like hands. But a really nice piece nonetheless.

    2008 Picture thread

Yay! Thanks heaps for the pics. I just that Twilight ship. Its boxyness gives it a really nice PT feel, even though it's from the OT era. The HSD on the other hand, I kind of liked it better when the pics were blurry and we could only see its general shape. Now that we can see all the details, I find its build a bit too bare... The droid gunship looks fantastic, though. Now the only thing I have to complain about is the release dates... They're releasing way too many at the same time... I fear I won't be ableto afford them all...

Lego Death Star 10188 - Pics at last!

Funny, I was going to say the same thing... COME ON TLC ! why did you have to do it again!! I couldn't afford the UCS MF and I definitely can't afford that one either... I ate beans for 4 years just to get the UCS ISD and I'm not ready to do it again... No, I'm sur I won't... Bah who needs to eat anyway, that's so over-rated... Just one thing though... I see there is at least one Imperial guard (it seems there are two on the side of the box, though) but where are they on the playset??? I can't find them anywhere. And what is that scene supposed to represent with the black 3PO stuck on some kind of rack and being tortured by that albino IG-88? At the top of the set. It doesn't ring any bell to me... And why the black hands on palpatine?

    2008 Picture thread

The more I see that Twilight, the more I like it. The B-Wing is one of my favourite model and one with which I've hade the most pleasure building; And this one seems to be a more complicated one. Sure it looks like a flying box but it seems to have quite a few features and greebles in its build to compensate. The HSD looks great too. Aaw... I wonder how I'm gonna do to afford all of the new wave... Tighten the belt, I supose...

  10. wow, excellent review, thanks. That set sure looks fantastic. It's incredible how much features they've managed to pack in while keeping it roomy. I'm really impressed by the quality of the design. TLC is sure getting back on track with great design. ow... 2008 is going to be expensive...

    New SW minifigs

well you sure know how to make an entrance welcome to EB But I'm still not a fan of those anime heads... But as Copmike said, it's only the heads, so it's easy to change (apart for ventress ) and the rest of the figs is great. new torso, hair pieces and all. And Plo Koon

    The Spectacular Spiderman

I quite like it. I think it borrows more from Ultimate Spider-Man than from the other but keeps a certain lightness in tone from the old cartoon. I'm just not a big fan of the character design, though... But as they said, they made it all simple so they could pour most of the budget in the animation department, and boy does it deliver! The webslinging moves fantastically.

Anyone else dissapointed in their hailfire droid?

Actually I love this set. I think it's my favourite from this wave... I heard about its being off scale since we saw the first preview pics, but ever since, I've never found any pictures that actually give it's proper size. And in the film, we never see it near a clone to have a sense of scale, which always had me beleive that the first version was waaay too big... Beside, in the clone wars video game, it's slightly smaller than the AAT, which the new version is compared to the lego AAT... So I'd say it's pretty spot on. And I am rather impressed by the amount of detail they managed to cram in a set that small. So basically, no. I'm not disappointed at all. I think it's a great set.

A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009

voted for choice 3. But choice could be really good too you know what'd be great? that choice 1 wins the poll but by such a close margin from 3 that TLC decides to realease a full MCC to compensate That way, we'd get a nice office with cool furniture and then a fantastic set Day dreaming ON

New City Set Pics for 2008

I've just been through the instructions of the 7738 life boat (which I found just ) and I noticed those is this a new piece? I wonder if it means the end of the click hinges, since that one and a normal 1x1 with clip has the same result as they use in this set...

    MT-RT

Really nice. I'm quite impressed by the balance of the thing. On first glance, it looks like it would easily tip over yet it doesn't seem so after all.

    The new Dark Knight Trailer

I read in an interview of Chris Nolan a while back where he says that the main villain of the film is actually Two-Face. That was because Two-face's character was really developped in the same way Bruce's was in Batman Begins, whereas he compares the Joker as a force of nature that is here to destroy everything but they won't go too deeply into who he really is and what his motivations are...

That mini V19 looks just  They even managed to cram in the rotating wings. thanks a lot for the instructions, Klaus-Dieter. Minis have always been one of my favourite line. It's fantastic they're doing new ones again  Mini Wars ON!

    droids battle packs or MTT

I'd go for the MTT too, it's one of the best set I own. It looks great and has some fantastic features. Sure you get half droids as if you get your many BPs but you won't regret the awesomeness of the vehicle. Plus, you get real blasters instead of megaphones...

    Blue 7

sweet really nice compact ship. I like how you managed to cram all those functionalities in it. I'm just not sure about the flag. It doesn't seem to fit to me... maybe it's the color that doesn't match the rest...

    X-Pod container question

Looks and sounds promissing. I look forward to it. not sure about the swoosh factor, though
  25. I don't know if it should be in here or in the Theatre but here is my version of the Ultimate Green Goblin (complete with reference pic ) I had to wait until I got my Dementor to finish it... here it is : and the reference pic : it's made from Jango Fett's purple legs (they're a bit too blue on the photo...), a Geonosian torso , the head from the statue of the Orient Expedition Castle and the cape and cowl of the Dementor. although it's a bit small compared to the original, I think it captures quite well the essence of the caracter. EDIT : here's a scan of the page I really used for reference (the other one comes from the Marvel website and is too green ) :
