I really disliked that set. I only got it because I found it on a heavy clearance and had I known at the time, I'd have taken all of the available ones to sell them on ebay around now. They were something like 75% off, and now just the Jango Fett minifig is worth more than the entire set was full price... But I found it rather badly designed, way out of proportion comparde to its movie counterpart and full of holes. The last version of Boba Fett's Slave 1 was a really big improvement. (But granted, this one was an equally big improvement next to the first one). But it still needs a lot of modifications to look good next to Boba's last version.

Just finished Salem's Lot... Pretty disappointed, again... I don't know why but every time I read a book by Stephen King I end up disappointed... Except maybe for his Dark Tower serie... I think I'll go on with that one and leave the rest... I just need to find the next ones somewhere... In the mean time, I'm re reading Dracula, by Bram Stoker... A true classic, that one.

wow! that Serenity looks just plain awesome!!! It's big!

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
yellost replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've seen the first three episodes and I don't quite know what to think of them... The droids are just plain stupid, it's a wonder the war lasted that long when the enemy is as useless as they've been portrayed... It just destroys any menace they might have posed before. And Grievous is a useless as in the film. And what's with the cough! I thought he only started coughing after Mace Windu crushed his chest at the end of the cartoon serie. Or are we supposed to just forget all about them and start anew??? At least in the cartoon, they gave him a really dangerous look. I do like Ventress, though. And Ahsoka too, she's the most interesting character so far, although I'm still not convinced by the idea of giving Anakin a padawan... -
I might get hanged for it but I actually love Ang Lee's Hulk. And X-Men 2 is a close second.

I've played through the first 3 levels of the PS2 version. It's really nice, although very much like LEGO SW and LEGO Indiana Jones. I t felt more satisfying in here than in LEGO Indy but it missed the NEW factor of the LEGO SW (that and I'm much more a fan of SW than Batman ) But the tongue in cheek humor is still as good as ever and the atmosphere of the whole thing is very well rendered. And there's still so much to do to unlock everything...

If I remember correctly, that isn't a UCS but a very early prototype of the first Y-Wing, the one released with Vader's Tie Advanced back in 1999... EDIT: just saw the description on top of the SnowSpeeder... so maybe that isn't the case either...

I saw Hellboy II last friday. I love Guillermo Del Toro's work. That man has a fantastic imagination when it comes to creature designs... Laberinto del Fauno is another one from him which is in my top 5 of all time favourite films.

Well, I have to say that the built is really ingenious, but I don't really like the end result... He looks way too buff, that way... In the film, he is tall, yes, but he is rather thin as well. Here, he looks like he's done waaay too many session at the gym in the past few weeks... I saw another take on BS a while back which I find more accurate (except maybe for the color scheme)... BS Folder I started from that version to modify mine, although i liked the original body piece which I tried to keep, so in the end, I ended up with a bit of a mix between the two versions above. Sorry I haven't got any pics at the moment but I'll take some as soon as I can...

FARSCAPE!!! Firefly Battlestar Galactica (the new one, that is) Rome Dr Who My Family Kaamelott (a french take on the Arthurian legend. Absolutely hilarious) and in animation : Samurai Jack Avatar Batman Beyond Clone Wars (the cartoon by Tartakovsky. The animation was outstanding on that show) Full Metal Alchemist They should make so much more good Sci Fi shows, though... Instead of cancelling the only few that exist...

Just finished the Legacy of the Force serie. Gosh, that was a punch in my stomach. now I'm starting Salem's Lot, by Stephen King

cool, can I have a coffe too? with lots of chantilly on top? Thanks for the pics. The central wing connection looks a bit weird, though. But I suppose the play feature would make up for it...

Thanks for the review. I'll just do my annoying guy act and ask for a picture from the back

Woot, I'm definitely in, too. Copmike, you're fantastic!

Actually, what made me think that was the fact that the first time I checked the two versions, I wondered why there was a link on the old version and not on the new age one... Then I thought of checking the pics and found it but at first glance, it isn't as obvious as the underlined title. Of course, the big red REVIEW NEEDED tag would be slightly more of a giveaway that there isn't one yet

I voted for the new age look. But I'd add it a little tweak : put the link on the name as well as the picture. That way, it's easy see the sets that have been reviewed since they'd be underlined.

Republic Gunship Comparison - 7163 vs. 7676.
yellost replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks! I was just about to ask for a thread like this. Now you saved me the trouble I only got the new one but I'd have to say that there isn't much major obvious differences between the two versions. Except for the major redesign of the back and the side bubbles. Has anyone noticed that the new bubble windshields are printed backward compared to the old ones? -
That's wierd, I thought they were available on the LEGO webpage... I'm pretty sure that's where I got them... Anyway, I uploaded them on my BS gallery, as I couldn't find them on peeron either... Here're the links : mini TIE mini Snowspeeder mini V19

I'm definitely in too. That's the kind of thread that will see the whole of EB answering... Except those on holiday... too bad for them

How about Speed Racer? That'd be nice. And then they can go back to making a regular LEGO Racers. In the vein of the first one (which is still and remains my best PC racer game ever).

LEGO Collector's Guide & LEGO Collector - Premium Edition

Is that the prize we might probably win from this raffle? if so, sweet -
I bought mine online, thinking it was the new version but I ended up with that very lame LUL fig. I just hate that fig... It's completely useless, we can't use any part of it for anything (although, I only discovered yesterday that the lightsaber blade was a standard one and not glued, as I always believed, so all isn't completely lost) In the end I still was rather disappointed by the set. It's too full of holes ( Hum; I think there's kind of a paradox in that sentence...)... But the BARC Speeder and green clone are indeed fantastic. Oh, and yes, mine came with sand blue grill parts instead of the trans-yellow ones... didn't realise it at first, and I spent half an hour cursing, thinking they forgot to put them in the box. But in the end, I don't know if the replacements are any better , since they're supposed to represent some kind of thruster light or something... All in all, I think it's my worst set... Not necessarily for the set itself which is OK, but psychologically, there's too many things that went wrong with it...

I finally got my hand on that little Beauty and it's a fantastic set . My only gripe would be the back that isn't entirely closed but it's rather minor. So I thought I would add my 2 cents for the good of the community Here's a custom sticker I made for the front of the RGS, for those like me who would rather have it without the fancy drawing... Normally the dimension should be right, as I measured them from the original stickers. But I haven't tried it yet. I lack a nice shiny paper to print it on and here is a link to a cleaner PDF version, to avoid the jpg compression : Pdf version cheers

That was indeed a set that never appealed to me. Its build was just plain wrong and awful. I only bought it because I found it on clearance at around 15€ (and they had 4 of them. If I had known better then, I'd have bought all 4; Seeing how much that Jango Fett minifig is worth now... ) But I ended up heavily modifying it in its propoions and now it looks ok next to the new Slave One (which is the best one of its 3 incarnations, I think)

The three most memorable moments in a video game for you
yellost replied to AgentRick's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The only one that comes to mind right away is when you learn that Coclint Island and all of its inhabitants are just a dream of the dreamfish in Zelda Link's Awakening on the old Game Boy. Gets me every time I play it. for thet other ones I have to think a little harder. I'd say there's taking my first steps in the world of Riven which was (and still is IMO) incredibly looking And the last one would be when Link stabs his sword in the forehead of Ganondorf in Wind Waker; That was the most graphical violence in all the Zelda games and I really didn't expect anything so visual. I think I might have been a little shocked by it, actually (though not necessarily in a bad way, as I still find WW to be my best Zelda game, just after Link's Awakening).
