    The Slippery Eel

One of the best presented and layed out entry so far. Lots going on with some nice landscaping of the cliffs. The town has a quaint feel to it which i like. My only concern would be to add some more trees and general 'greenary' to the scene as it is very grey. But thats just a small thing. Excellent work all round!

Moc - Royale Trading Post - St. Ann's Cliff

Ahh, i knew id seen it Great work, i think your the only person ive seen who has used the classic colours and made a more realistic moc with them. It really makes it stand out. Excellent stuff!

Moc - Royale Trading Post - St. Ann's Cliff

Nice moc, has a very 'classic' feel to it. Although for some reason i think ive seen it before, some months back. Was this part of a display at a show? The one that had real water in it.

    Carats 4 Carrots

Awesome entry ISC! Ive always liked your mocs and this is no exception. Nice and big with lots going on, the water looks great as do those tree house which were a great idea. But i like the incan temple best, its great that you added that in, as its not something ive seen many people add into the pirate theme. Great idea and excellent work

'Behind The Helm' Episode #15 - Nik Groves (Part 1)

Thats a pretty interesting interview so far, working for lego deffinitly sounds like a dream job. Its also nice to hear that the designers do check out our stuff.

    First Contact

Great entry! I like the idea of the natives and you've created some nice landscape. The ship is a nice addition and looks great. I really like the native hut and use of the bear skin! Excellent work

Thanks, my next project is 'Nancy's Tavern' based around a song by Alestorm. Its nearly finished, just got to finish off the landscaping

    Spanish port

Another nice moc from you, you've been busy posting mocs i see recently, but i havn't had a chanch to comment. This has a nice quaint and busy feel to it which is always good and there are many nice details in there. Keep up the good work!

    The Reconstruction of Fort Oswald

Looking good so far. The port looks a nice size which is good as you dont want your ship to dwarf it. The ships looking interesting and has a great deck. I cant really say too much as i'll wait till its completed. Deffinitly looks like this entry will be one to watch

Pillage the Village II: The Calm After the Storm

After browsing all the entries in the contest, it got me thinking. Just a suggestion, in the next competition, maybe you could do a seperate catargory for people with the title of 'moc expert', a bit like the seperate staff entries you do. I say this because it will give others a better chance to win things who normally dont get as many votes. Theres a lot of people who put their best efforts into a moc for a comp, only to see the usuall 'experts' submit great entries and get all the votes. Like i said, just a suggestion, you know i think you all do a great job of organising these comps, just adding an idea

    HMS Unicorn Teaser

Thats huge, that cant be on a standard hull! Looking very good so far! Maybe too much yellow at the stern, you could replace those yellow 1x1 round cones with black ones, but i know the're usually yellow. When can we expect the finished result? Another masterpiece for us brits!

    Inspiration for land-based mocs

Just thought i would post a few pics of the sort of inspiration i use for land based mocs. I think the rugged and wild coast of cornwall is ideal for basing mocs on and great for landscaping ideas. Every harbour has its own myths and legends of pirates, smugglers, ghost ships and sea monsters. Also most of the ports and harbours still have tha old feel and look to them. If anyone is looking for inspiration for coastlines and small ports then i deffinitly advise looking at this sort of thing. Also, Charlestown is home to the Shipwreck Herritage Center and is used for filming old port scenes in period films and dramas plus home to 3 ships that are regularly used in Hornblower and other similar dramas. Well worth visiting. Polperro Harbour with the old smugglers cottage on the hill. Charlestown Harbour. Good starter point for a simple harbour, just replace the buildings with an older look. Tintagel Harbour - great source of ideas for buildng cliffs and coastline. Some nice old harbour walls, ive used this style on a few of my mocs. Very old little port and great for ideas on landscaping. Some of the buildings from these harbours - this style of building look old and really effective around a harbour or port. Just a few ideas if anyones thinking of making this kind of thing. It doesn't allways have to be 'palm trees and carribean' to achieve a decent scene ya know!

Spanish Imperial Galleon - Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion

I challenge you to build the 'Mary Rose'!!!

Spanish Imperial Galleon - Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion

I agree there! If its not trains, mechas or spaceships than its not likely to feature. Allthough they did blog my church and ports, but they filed them under 'castle' I cant believe this hasn't been blogged!

WIP: Achille and Guerrière, French Frigates of 28 guns

This is excellent work and looks set to be another awesome ship. I love how you've done the stern, expecially the lights made with clear cheese wedges. Looks great all round and nicely detailed throughout. You are another great ship building talent sir!

Spanish Imperial Galleon - Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion

What really stands out most to me is the fact that you've gone for something different. I always see the same old type of ship on here, as people only ever seem to build those 'victory' type inspired ships (you know what i mean). But this reminds me more of those old 'Spainish Armada' types from the 15th and 16th centurys. I love the ships from that era and have always felt that we dont see enough lego versions. Which is why this just has to be the best lego ship ive seen. Credit to you both for trying something different. This is just stunning and every detail is masterfully done. I hope we might see more like it in the future. In my opinion, you two are on another level when it comes to building ships, no-one comes close Excellent work!

    Andrios Castle

Ive always considered you to be imo the best castle builder ive come across. I like how you go for the more realistic natural look. Theres not much i can say that hasnt already been said about this castle, great work. I think you've done everything that can be achieved with the standard grey walls technique, ever thought about using flat 1x1 rounds for walls to get a much higher level of detail? Check out my church to see what i mean. I'd love to see a castle built with that technique

    Ye Medieval Fayre

Thats just awsome! I love the dragon on the merry go round, great parts usage. The cage below is great as well, ive been toying with a few ways to make a gibbet cage and this is very inspirational. Great work again

    Pirate Training School

Great moc Iz, and fantastic idea. Lots going on and some ood mini-fig placement. I like the use of 1x1 rounds for legs. Everything you need for a training school is there, good work

    Renegade Redcoat Rum Runners!

Right, firstly i can see quite a bit that can be improved, expecialy that palm tree thats really buggin me. Secondly, i wish i hadnt rushed it in a weekend because i thought i wouldnt have any other free time, but as it turns out i now have loads of free time(always the way). And thirdly, i wish i had built a few more buildngs and a bigger cove, infact, i would have done it all differently! But i do really like the name! There we go, thats my critique for this model

    The notorious beachhouse

Really great work here, theres so much going on and lots of great detail. Its just so eye catching and so full of colour which really brings it to life. Im liking this one

    PTVII: Creative Critic

Something special? Any hint as to what that might be? I think id like to create a comp, as i have some boxed classic sets that would make good prizes. Maybe down the line i'll get some advice on how to organise it
