LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

Have they released the new Republic Drop ship w/ AT-OT in stores? Or is it staying at Shop @ Home, because I'd rather not pay 18 for shipping..

LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

Quick update for the AT-OT w/ Dropship set. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...n=520&d=322 Release date for United States changed to March 10th. Hm?
  3. Endor Rebellion Pack: Three Endor Rebels, One Ewok and a detailed speeder. Scout Battle Pack: Three Scout Troopers, a detailed speeder and an Ewok. Those are the only Minifigures that appeal to me besides the clones, everything else we have enough of.

With all these huge Republic Ships, we haven't really gotten anything big on the Separatist side to compete. The MTT was the last large ground vehicle for them, so I would love to see a Tri-Droid even, although we may have to wait. Not to go on and rant but most of the Droid ships seem miniaturized on a larger basis then the Clone vehicles minus the AAT. Just look at the Tank Droid and Shuttle. :\ Oh well.. But anyway, I am really looking forward to the 30th. Hopefully this set will have room on my shelf.

LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

Here's my insight on the sets of 2009 - Tank Droid - This is a big improvement over the other snail droid which was blue and was fragile to play with, but features were nice and the build was interesting. The 2009 Snail Droid (Tank Droid) is a huge improvement, looking more like the movie counterpart, being all gray, and having an improved build to look a little more menacing. Minifigures are a plus here, two jet troopers is awesome. Overall I think this is an improvement and I will buy this If I have enough money after the AT-OT. Hoth Buying it no matter what. The minifigures are valuable and rare, and awesome collectors items, and the scenery and turret is pretty much the best for reincarnation of hoth battle scenes. Will look nice with my AT-AT Pirate Tank Looks great, figures are awesome, the only problem is it maybe out of my budget. I like the build and look though. Separatists Shuttle Small, like every droid ship or vehicle, minus the ATT. This is nice, the feature and build is sub-par while the figurines are a nice bonus. It's worth getting if you can afford, or as I should say, I can afford. The Y-wing Big time collectors might need this, and little kids who are fans might want it but will be cautious about putting out the money for it. Besides, the figures in this set are ridiculous. I rather not have two Anakins and Ahsoka minifigs. They should have put in a clone pilot and called it a day. Instead it is no minifigs im getting. I'd say lower the price to 50 or add a clone or two. Endor A must buy for any star wars fan. The AT-ST is a huge improvement, over the blocky one release a year or two ago. I love the bunker, and the minifigures are awesome. This better not get sold out too quickly. Mon Calamari Alright, it's a good idea, but for 110 USD, I wouldn't consider. Venator This is really nice, maybe the coolest set besides the new Dropship w/ AT-OT. You have to love the features, (turret, bomb drop, handle, Palpatine's office) and the figures - Palpatine, 2 Senate Commandos, 1 Clone Pilot, 1 Clone Gunner. The ship looks really nice on display too, however price is conflicting with other sets. An expensive year. Republic Dropship w/ At-Ot This is one of those sets you can't believe Lego would think of doing. I can't explain why, I just know the feeling. The AT-OT first off was a very interesting vehicle seen in EP-III during the battle of Felucia and ever since lego builders just wanted to make one for their collection. The same goes for the Dropship, because the idea of carrying huge vehicles is pretty much epic, we all have to agree, the a LEGO set would be hard to come by. LEGO proved me wrong and combined two high demand products into one to really set our wallets on fire but bring us quality sets. Best set on the market i think.

Sadly prior to the newly released set (AT-OT Drop Ship combo) I was planning on not buying anything but the Endor Playset and the Hoth Battle Pack but when I saw the dropship I knew it was a must. After seeing the others, I don't know, I've been pulled back in and my wallet is going to get hit by a train. Good thing I have a job, not to say though that the money would have been towards my car.. Damn, and the Venator looks hot too.

    Republic Attack Gunship or AT-TE

In the future I believe an RGS is higher in value and in higher demand than the AT-TE because it is the icon of the Republic Fleet. The Republic Gunship was a rather fun build, awesome pieces and figures and has some nice display and playable qualities that make it awesome if you rather be swooshing around ships or dropping off troops in desolate locations. Lego made this a hard choice on purpose, because both Sets are very popular in the Republic fleet, both in the cartoon and movies and both play important hand in hand roles in major battles in the Clone Wars. The Republic Gunship however plays a role in the OT and PT while the AT-TE doesn't. It is a hard choice but my opinion on if I had to only get the one (I have both and love them equally) is the Gunship. I always wanted one and was more than happy to finally see one (A superior version) make it back on shelves. The AT-TE is nice, on display and can be fun to play with (not that I really ever tried) but I can imagine doing so in cases or others. The build was like any walker, repetitive, the builder will always want to get to the final product. The Final is very impressive and if you get the Dropship & AT-TO combo then you are set for life. The AT-TE I would probably have chosen instead if it had more minifigures and clones. But you know, it's too hard of a choice to change someones mind and give them complete confidence.

LEGO Star Wars 2009 Sets and Rumours

I just joined up right now to share my ideas on the new sets and consider actually being involved in the community here. I've been on this site frequently following the updates and, as of today I've reached the peak of my excitement. I actually considered putting aside this rather 'hard on wallet' hobby to pursue other hobbies but I guess this new set, The AT-OT and Dropship have changed my mind. I'll order myself one on March 3rd the release date just to ensure I have it. Pretty amazing, thought it was an MOC at first look on the news page and almost dropped dead when I realized it was an actual set. Great Job lego =]
