Thanks for all the nice words. I'd cry if I hadn't lost my tear ducts last year in one of Captain Blue Hair's beat downs! I am glad everyone had fun. I did as well.

    Happy Father's day!

Happy Father's Day to all us dads. I hope you all get lots of Lego and have a great day.
  5. From the dawn of time they have been at war. No one knows how it started or why. Whatever the reason, every molecule in their ABS plastic is filled with contempt and disgust for the opposite side. For the safety and harmony of brick loving folks everywhere this animosity is held in check by the most advanced technology and the toughest moderators much of the year…but inevitably this much rage can’t be contained and it explodes into….. The Second Annual Redcoats vs. Bluecoats Tournament of Retribution! General purpose: The primary purpose of the Tournament is to have FUN at the expense of the opposing side (Redcoats vs. Bluecoats). The Tournament objective: Create a comic of up to 10 panels depicting the funniest, most brutal, outlandish stories of your side causing the most humiliating, physical, and/or emotional harm to the other side (as represented by their sides minifigures Red vs. Blue). Note: For the purpose of this competition Redcoats and Bluecoats represent no national origin so pick which minifigure you like best. Warning: If you are a sensitive soul who is easily offended or grossed out, if the thought of winning fabulous prizes makes you sick…Then the Tournament of Retribution may not be for you! We suggest a nice clean book of poems and a warm soft kitten. If you enjoy bathroom jokes and horror movies, if you believe a Lego cutlass makes a fine tooth pick, if you have always wondered what exactly a minfigure’s brains look like, if you love Lego Pirates…Then you are honor bound to grab your uniform and your musket and enlist now to fight for your side! How the Tournament will work this year: This year combatants will compete as individuals representing their side (Redcoats or Bluecoats). Competitors will have approximately 3 weeks to sign up in the official entry thread beginning June 8th, 2010 at whatever time we are sober enough to post the thread. You will provide your user name and declare what side you are on (Redcoat or Bluecoat). READ ALL the RULES BEFORE YOU SIGN UP! Competitors will submit their entry by opening up a new topic in the Pirates MOC Forum. The topic should be entitled “Tournament of Retribution II Entry” and should have an appropriate subtitle of their choosing. The first round of the Tournament will open on June 15, 2010ish. Competitors will be given 4 weeks to submit their comic. The deadline is July 13, 2010 at whatever time we feel like it so don’t wait until the last minute. July 14th a voting thread will be open to all Eurobricks members for one week. Only the top 5 Bluecoat entries and the top 5 Redcoat entries will be invited to compete in the final round of the Tournament. Round two (the final round) will be open on July 22, 2010. Competitors will be given 2 weeks to submit their second comic. The deadline for this final round is August 5, 2010. August 6th a voting thread will be open to all Eurobricks members for one week. Prizes will be awarded to the top 6 vote getters. The Rules: They’re more like Guidelines. No clone brands. Real LEGO, custom decals/stickers/string/sails, and aftermarket products (like Brickarms and Brickforge) only. Each entry may have up to 10 photographs or images in their comic strip depicting a sequence of events. Each \"panel\" is considered a single image or photograph whether it is a stand alone image or part of a comic strip spread. In other words, your entry may be just one image containing up to 10 separate panels or 10 individual photographs. Regardless of you style, each posted image may be 800x600 maximum. Each panel should have text associated with it in most instances. The text can be dialog of the characters or a narrative description similar to what would be found in a comic strip or a combination there of. Each comic must contain at least one Redcoat & one Bluecoat soldier (from the Lego Pirates theme) (old or new figures are accepted, decals are OK as substitutes for Redcoat and Bluecoat soldiers as long as they look recognizable as the Lego version). Participants may use any other Lego factions, themes, minifigures etc. within their comic in support of their story. Note: The new dark blue governor torso will be accepted as either a Redcoat or a Blue Coat (does that make him a turn coat?). The use of avatars in comics is encouraged and permitted but limited to the avatars of those who have entered the Tournament, Tournament Hosts and Classic-Pirates Crew Members. Eurobricks members who wish to allow the use of their avatar in the Tournament may do so by signing up in a special topic that will be opened. By joining the Tournament or authorizing the use of your avatar you are agreeing to have your avatar abused in whatever way competitors and Tournament Officials see fit to abuse them. This is a comic contest NOT a building contest. Competitors should attempt funny story telling through the use of Lego depicting senseless violence and other nonsensical behavior by Redcoats and Bluecoats toward Redcoats or Bluecoats, build as much or as little as you need to tell your story. About Spectators: Spectators are asked to : Get into the rowdy spirit of the Tournament. Take the energy level of their posts and comments up a notch and focus on the story and not just the building techniques. Fans should have as much fun as possible…it really can be rewarding….to be an active spectator! Tournament Hosts: Commodore Hornbricker for the Redcoats and Captain Blackmoor for the Bluecoats will serve as this year’s Tournament hosts. The hosts will be responsible for settling any questions , disputes or other issues, interpreting and enforcing rules and deadlines, and presiding over all hangings, floggings and other social gatherings within the context of the Tournament including disqualification. In addition, as hosts, the contest gods have also granted us special powers….tune in to the Tournament to find out more! Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. I have read and enjoyed them all even if I could not always respond. Obviously if you hadn't noticed, Lego comics are something of a passion for me and the whole Redcoat vs. Bluecoat thing just brings a smile to my face evertime. I appreciate all the great participation and I thought we had really nice entries and really nice energy from everyone in this year's Tournament. I am very glad that people feel like the contest has helped to bring people on Classic-Pirates together a little. The original idea behind the Tournament was to provide the oportunity for people on the forum to actually feel like they were sharing the experience of playing with Lego with others on the forum. I think that special interaction really does create a lasting memory. Blackmoor and Croissant and Zorro and Erdy and Mister Phes and Ratshot and many others really contributed a lot of their time and energy to helping bring this together. It really was more of an event rather than a contest. I had a blast and I look forward to the crowning of the winners. I am leaving on vacation out of the country for a week. Once the votes are counted and Captain Blackmoor has awarded the prizes I'll start shipping them out once I get back on the 20th. Oh and I already have an interesting twist in mind for next year!

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

I have completely mixed feelings. I enjoy the films and the characters and I am glad for new sets, ships, parts, torsos, etc. that fit in with the pirates theme but it still makes me feel a little sad. I'll probably only buy three of everything out of protest. Maybe we'll luck out and there will be Bluecoats in the fourth movie. We really do need a new version of the Bluecoat. I am betting a new version cries and wets itself before it runs away .

....NEWS ALERT.... Official word has come from the ToR II Studio that this is in fact the last official day of the 2nd Annual Redcoat vs. Bluecoat Tournament of Retribution. With all high ranking Bluecoat Officials dead or in hiding we turned to the Redcoats for a final update. They had only this to say, "When you mess with the best you die like the rest! End of story. Bye bye. See ya later..." The End!

    EB Members Title Archive

Thanks for the new juicy title "Cyborg Chef Splatter". I might have to put that on a business card. I got it for doing this to Erdbeereis in a ToR II comic. I suspect Zorro. He is the title master. For the record I am not sorry and I'll do it again!

    The ToR II Studio Headquarters

....NEWS ALERT.... What began as possibly the dullest story to come out of the ToR II Studio in weeks, a routine report of a power outage at the Studio earlier today has once again turned out to herald another tragedy and several horribly painful deaths. Bluecoat Officials have not returned calls for comments. In fact it seems no one has seen a Bluecoat in several days. Redcoat Officials responded by pointing out it is hard to return calls now that they are all dead.
  14. Very nice "About Me". You have been a busy boy...err walrus...dude.

    The ToR II Studio Headquarters

....NEWS ALERT.... Sources inside the ToR II Studio have revealed shocking and revealing photographs of one high ranking Bluecoat Official. Surprisingly for the first time ever the photos aren't of Bluecoats in drag or any of the many embarrassing behaviors we have all come to expect from Bluecoats. No, these photographs reveal something far more disturbing about the Bluecoat high command. Redcoat Officials have raised the threat alert to, what else, RED and Redcoat allies from all the other Lego Pirate factions are escalating their joint worldwide offensive against the pathetic Bluecoats. Bluecoat Officials claim the photos are just a clever hoax to turn world opinion against them and that "they'd be back!". Redcoat Officials, busily preparing a massive offensive against the Bluecoats, had time only to provide this comment, "As the free world unites under the Redcoat banner, we go forward knowing our cause is just and right and we shall, yet again, be victorious over the Bluecoat threat. (PS - This is my most favorite comic. For whatever reason it makes me laugh every time I read it)

    TOR II Entry, Round 2

Ha! Great comic. I can't believe I didn't smell Croissant coming. I am glad I still have all those cloned Commodore's. The true story is that I killed your parents for revenge for it was they who many years ago killed my parents who many many years ago killed your parents parents who many many many years ago had killed my parents parents parents....oh it goes on like this for a very long time. That is why by crushing the Blue Avengers testicles I have finally ended the cycle of parentcide! Sorry I couldn't get your entry posted over the weekend. My internet connection was down at the house. I was about to do it this morning when I got to the office but saw that Erdy had done it already. Thanks

    The ToR II Studio Headquarters

....NEWS ALERTS.... Sources inside the Studio are reporting that another in a long line of rum soaked tragedies has befallen several Bluecoat officials. One unidentified source has said, "the Bluecoats are all so overcome with grief it is as if they have all lost their heads". Redcoat officials could not be reached for comment. The message on their headquarters recording indicates that they are out shopping for jars. In other news today, Redcoat and Bluecoat officials announced a new spinoff ToR II Studio food program staring two loveable (yet disgusting) ToR II characters, Ratshot and Moneyshot. Just moments later pandemonium appeared to erupt in the Studio and sources close the program indicated that an accident occurred during the filming of the pilot episode and that the show would likely need to be cancelled or at least recast. Bluecoat officials seemed unaware of the latest calamity as they were all sequestered in the shows "green room" sampling the cuisine from the first episode of the new program saying only, "the food is très magnifique and the chef a genius!" Redcoat officials issued this classic statement, "If you can't take the heat stay out of the kitchen".

    The ToR II Studio Headquarters

News Alert... Today, local fire authorities once again responded to the ToR II Studio. Authorities actual believe the Studio has set a new record for consecutive days a structure has been set on fire. When questioned about this phenomenon, Redcoat Officials said "they are astonished at exactly how extremely combustible Bluecoats really are!" stating further, "sometimes the static electricity from walking on carpet is enough to set them on fire, it is strange, it is as if fire itself also hates Bluecoats". Bluecoat Officials could not be reached for comment as most are currently in the local burn ward.

Tournament of Retribution II Entry: Round two.

Very funny. Green Hair fainted at the thought of dismantling his motorcycles. That was my favorite line. Very nice. Sorry about the camera but you did a great job despite that.
