Kickstarter: ME Models Tracks for both metal and ABS only track pieces
hankdelsi replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's certainly more than my pledge. I assume someone from your lug received their recent communication. Did I misinterpret that message? Thanks. -

thought i'd bump this topic, i'm a kickstarter supporter and was recently contacted regarding my pledge. items are supposed to start to ship in July/Aug to backers. has anyone received their metal pledges since that recent communication. we are approaching mid august and fear that I'm low man on the totem pole. -

negative for me, last communication i saw said before xmas, my layout is in desperate need of revamping and i've been holding off since the kickstarter order (thinking/hoping i was getting track in what last sept? or whenever). i especially needed some of the half lengths for my situation. still hoping though. -

Does this include metal rails that I backed or just plastic rails? Thanks in advance for your response. -
I was fortunate to pick up some of the ME models straights before they went out of stock. I have plenty of extra curves so I have no need other than maybe the different radius concepts. So for me it's straights, double length straights, and hey why not half length straights. Also maybe something like the double switch plastic rail, although not sure about electrical current flow for that one. The ME models stuff worked for me so I've been waiting patiently/hopefully for another release. Their price point was in my range and you can never have enough straights in my mind.

I noticed to O scale rail the other day in my hobby store and they looked close in size to lego track. I don't know anything about model railroading or electricity etc. but is it possibly to run 9v trains on these. I'm still waiting on the ME tracks. I'm pretty sure the answer is no but figured someone here knows the answer. Thanks.

Replace Rubberband Treads on 9V Train Motors
hankdelsi replied to Phoxtane's topic in LEGO Train Tech
i recently picked up the o rings, primarily for my pf trains. i'm still digging through this forum to find additional evidence of this concept's success for pf, not that i doubt it works, just not sure the fiddling is worth it if the improvement is minor. i couldn't get the o rings off with my fat fingers. now i have to find a suggested toothpick or something similar to remove the old ones. i definitely see slippage in my pf trains when adding a few extra cars. i had to replace most of the magnets first as those new ones didn't seem to hold together well with extra cars. Of course my 10 yr old figured out that you could use a 1x2 plate and connect the magnets. i must have missed that. i didn't even know the 9v's had the o rings as well. If i find that I can get the o rings off of both types easily without destroying them, I'll test and report back but don't hold your breath.- 13 replies
