Great build! I like the fireplace!

A worthy addition to the landscape of Nocturnus Lord Vladivus, the second version looks nicer and a much better exposure on the photos too. It's always nice to see people look to improve their builds and photos!
Thanks! I used to have a lightbox and daylight bulbs back when I used to play (well paint!) Warhammer and wanted to take good photos, but that's fallen by the wayside, so my current set-up is less than optimal, and it's just a case of getting the best out of the equipment I have.
yeah! a legitimate nocturnians MOC! loving the stairs, and your character has a great haircut
keep it up!
Clearly we have the same hairdresser. Or my mother (formerly of Avalonia) is related to you.

Seriously contemplating getting the sea port battle. I have held off on the superhero stuff, despite my utter fandom. I'll be interested in what the DC sets are like.

Looking good Jareth!
I've updated my Shrine of the Black Knight build!
-
UPDATE: First post amended with new photos showing improved shrine.
For reference, here is the original:
Thanks SkaForHire, I've tried to improve the stairs yet again!

Nice built!!
I like how perfect the stairs fits in the excellent built wall!!!
Cheers! That wasn't too hard, those plates are a godsend. Although I'd love it if the made some with a stud on one end. Or longer ones, for wider stairs.
I've redone the build a bit, to get rid of the tree, and centred the statue so as to make the MOC less cluttered, so I might make this a W.I.P.

I can see they rotate up and down, but the how can the cockpit turn?
If you look at the technic part at the end, that should explain how- it has two technic pins (for the wings) and for one to be placed in the centre (the cockpit).
-
Cheers guys.
@Kai NRG, Yeah, looking at the pictures now, I wish i'd left the tree off- its too big anyway, and is the same height as the statue. If I'd left the tree off, the statue would have been more obvious.
I'm still picking up techniques, and I'm inclined to try to fit as much stuff into something- less is perhaps more, as they say.

Is the yellow flag for cheese?
Oh I wish. Avalonian cheese is to die for. Haha, I have lots of gold flags, but i seem to have misplaced them, so a yellow one is having to stand in.

Small Nocturnus freebuild:

I hear the bones are an Avalonians.
-
Dotted throughout Nocturnus are shrines to various fell warriors and creatures. Praying and giving offerings at these is said to bestow dark blessings upon the individual that does so.
Lord Vladivus has come across one such shrine in his travels- a shrine to a dark knight, hewn from black obsidian.
Some other views, without minifigures:
Note the offerings of gold, and a heart. And the skull of an Avalonian, or so I hear...
Cheers for looking, just a quick one really, mostly wanted to try out the technique for steps.
EDIT: I've altered the shrine, removing the tree, and centering the shrine itself, so it's the focus of the build, hopefully making it less cluttered. I've also tried to improve on the stairs, instead of the slopes, I've used 1x1 rounds as a wall. I also added the cheese slopes as a sort of guard.
C+C welcome!

Nice! Let me know if you find a good use for lime green! We've got a ton of it too.
Large desert dwelling snakes?
-
This looks really good- just like a place I went in Spain, except that was whitewashed walls!
-
I second knowing what your plans are? A new character?
Lord Brickington tasted a little tough, it was better once I'd taken the tights off though!
-
I actually have a lot of blue and red pieces (lots of Ninjago and some old school Dragon Masters), so I nearly went for Kaliphlin, but I liked the idea of a half vampire and he fitted better in Nocturnus, and they need numbers. Plus I guess you don't need monsters or undead to make a Nocturnus army, there's probably plenty of humans (evil, sadistic ones at that) here. The story is the most important thing really.

Greetings Lord Damaximus. A few of my werewolves defected from the Claw Breakers during the Drow insurrection, and they have always spoken highly of you. The only worthwhile thing that comes out of Avalonia is elf-flesh.
-
This is so cool! It's got a really spooky vibe. I love the grey and black trees.

I am surprised Nocturnus has got some new members. Anyway, welcome to GoH! One thing of advice is to never challenge Avalonian.
My mother was an Avalonian. I think her bones are around here somewhere. She did say the werewolves needed feeding, and I fed h.... Er I mean she fell in the stew cauldron. Luckily we couldn't taste the ropes she was tied up with.
Nice to meet you! You're off to a really good start. Welcome to GoH!
Yes, but at least we can go outside in the sunlight.
Anything helps, even small little builds/vignettes, as long as they are well-done (which I think this one is -- nice base!). And if you don't have time / parts for builds, you can always trash-talk on the forums! That's a time-honored Nocturnian tradition that has fallen off a bit since Angeli got banned.
Bah my Avalonian mother passed on resilience to sunlight. I just tan real easy. And have an affinity for tights. Cheers for the compliments on the base, I was looking at Legonardos MOCs and like the bases, so this was my first attempt at them. I think I need some more Star Wars polybags for the plates! I just found a pile of lime green 1x1 rounds so they'd have worked well with this I think.
And thanks for the welcome guys!

Ahhh, let me slay this warrior of the Hand of Corruption!
Allow me to introduce myself! I am Lord Vladivus. I am a half-vampire, and am skilled with my darksword. I am flanked by my standard bearer, and my trusted necromancer-mage, Horace the Arkayne.
These are some of my warriors- a mummy, a snake person and a zombie!
I have some human allies, I am sure they will be along shortly, their weak and frail bodies slow them down.
I don't know how much building I'll get done, but anything helps right? :D

Hi,
My name is Lord Vladivus. I was inspired to sign up by GoH, where I've lurked for ages.
Er yeah and I love music.

Looking good, just need to build the back half! The two levels in different colours works pretty well, and i like the red roof. I like the Tolswick Ranger fig, the black hood and cloak go really well with the Uruk hai parts.
