This is an amazing resource @Exetrius! Good to see the Nocty spirit being kept alive! I now have to figure out if I can get back to my Lego and start building for GoH again...
-
Most likely. While Vlad breathes the spirit of Nocturnus is still alive. He’ll probably go vacation in Avalonia for a bit though.
-
I suppose I could create a new character for the purposes of challenges... BUT... NOCTURNUS FOREVER! I’d quite like to see Vlad continue to fight for Nocturnus, whether that’s economically, physically or otherwise. Despite my absence, I still feel the tugs of what I started so long ago with the Resistance. A Free Nocturnus stands.

Excellent work while I’ve been away! I’ve tried to catch up on some of the builds. I’m not sure I want to entirely desert Vlad and I’m not sure he’s someone who would leave Nocturnus for another guild given how much he fought for them. I’ll have to give it some thought! He does have an Avalonian mother though, so watch this space! I’m still away from my bricks at the moment, but I shall try to retrieve them and build for the glory of Historical!

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Something stirs... Long forgotten muscles guide a gaunt figure dragging an ironblack sword towards a fiery window, blackened robes blowing in an ethereal wind and dented armour scraping across broken flagstones and fallen warriors. -

As my mother is an English teacher, and as I'm somewhat of a grammar pedant myself, I'm going to chime in and say everyone's covered the an/a debate pretty well. "H" is the only consonant that consistently causes confusion.- 993 replies

An excellent build to go with an excellent story!

Across Nocturnus, bands of warriors roam. Not all of their allegiances can be ascertained easily, and mercenaries flit from side to side, lured by their greed and the promise of gold coin. Isolated villages are forced to rely on these nomadic warriors to defend them, and others to raise militia levies to serve the feuding Lords of Nocturnus; both Resistance and Spire alike. Orcs are common in the foothills of the Rakath, being hardy and warlike creatures, and their militia patrols venture far into the plains between the great peaks and the Moruth Swamps to the East.

I'm really enjoying the way you guys are incorporating what seemed like fairly independent civil-wars into a coherent single story! This build is great! I love the gargoyles- the posing and parts make them seem a little like petrified people! -

Some nice details- I like the windows! I'm glad Free Nocturnus can count on your support! -
It is a well known fact that the Kazzar are not particulary enamoured of the Witches of the Moruth Swamps. At least, since the witches have started to steal valuable Kassava claws from the various tribes, to make drugs that are much sought after by the Black Spire. So, when a travelling Swamp Witch reaches a Shadowmere Guard encampment at the base of Shadowwmere's great black walls, the grizzled Kazzar Blackcloak commanding the small detachment of veteran zombie warriors is swift to react. Only a swiftly barked command from an inspecting Fenrir Bloodcloak saves the witch from a gruesome disembowlment by a Kassava lance. The witch arrives. The Kazzar Blackcloak. The Witch herself, apparently of Mitgardian descent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- C+C welcome! I'm not too sure on the style of pictures, was fiddling around with some editing software.

Thanks guys! The Kazzar were one of my favourite tribes to come out of the contest. Combine that with the idea of GoT Kingsguard and Goldcloaks, and the Kazzar Blackcloaks, the most elite shock troops in the Shadowmere Guard. I'd previously used a single Kazzar character (he brought up a young Vlad after saving him from an attack), and these warriors are that guys kinsmen, sworn to Vlad's service. Still don't like Witches stealing their kassava though!

Thanks guys! @Henjin_Quilones yeah the tree is weird. But then so is Nocty. I'd change the tree if I were to do it again.

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Lord Vladivus replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
We here in Nocty are pretty fast and loose with "claiming" land. Stuff usually only gets added to the map once it/the Guildmember reaches a certain (ambiguous) level of something (I hesitate to say seniority, or importance, as we don't really have ranks, but it's more based on quality of contribution/time as a Nocturnian/Guilder). If you want a city/settlement, you can request it, but it tends to be fairly important as a settlement (most of those on the map are either from the original Nocty members, or the current Nocturnian Resistance.
